Thanks for this content, I have started this process early this year, though I haven't continued as the ADBC requested some translated documents and other things which I did not understand at that time.
You can probably find a typing center to help you translate your documents
@@AbbyTeachingAfar thanks for this. Do I need to first go through Ministry of Education for certificates equivalency? Or final Attestation from Ministry of Foreign Affairs is enough? Before proceeding to typing center?
Also issue of flat renting, can I sponsor my partner under that visa and reside in any Emirates ? Or should I have to have a tenancy contract in Abu Dhabi Emirate only? As I read some articles which I found complicated. I really need your help in this as I need this License ASAP🤲🏽
@@DebugWithAdam I guess it would depend on the type of visa you are looking to get. I don’t want to steer you in the wrong direction.
@@DebugWithAdam with the visa I have you can sponsor your spouse. The emirate you obtain a visa from is where you will need to reside.

Hi, thanks for the informative video. Question re the health insurance, why did you have to use the plan for investor visa? Is it mandatory, because I would assume that the freelance license/visa would mean an individual i.e. individual health insurance. Thanks again!!
My pleasure. So it was the company I used that covered the investor visas with a certain plan. You can go to any company but I think the cost to insure the investor visa is what drives up the cost.
For information technology-related freelance license with all 5 services. It is costing 2500 AED

I don't know if you'll be able to answer this, but what happens if you get a freelancer visa, but then you're offered a job with a company doing something else? Would the company typically want you to go under their sponsorship instead of remaining on your own visa? Or vice-versa, if you're already under sponsorship over there, can you still get your own business license?
Thank you. It depends on the company I am sure I had to wait until my former job canceled my visas to start my own visa process under my business. So you will just have to check with the company polices.

Hi Abby, thanks for a very informative video. Just a quick one, is there a minimum amount you need to have when applying for a Freelance Licence?
I can just tell you how much it cost me but my most expensive process was my insurance. There are visas and companies you can use I did the process myself and it cost me just under 14,000 AED for a 2 year business license and 3 Year Visa
Great video but I have a couple of questions. About the credentials you had to submit for your work. Is it a must to have a degree ? Cause I am doing website development but I do not have a degree for it. I only have a certificate from a online program I did. Also is there any restrictions on clients. Like can you work with people in Abu Dhabi only ?
For me I did not use a degree just proof that I can do what I say I offer. So I submitted my website and a few projects I have worked on and all went well. And if I understand correctly this is a mainland business license so you are free to work with anyone in the UAE.

Hi glad I could share. My establishment card information came with my freelance business license so I didn’t not have to apply for it separately once I got my documentation.

I don’t know and I think you still need special permission to record in certain areas.

2.Are you able to work somewhere under your own sponsorship by doing non objection certificate?
I got my business license while I was under a different visa when I worked for a school here. After my contract was over I started the process to sponsor myself under the business in July and it took about 3 weeks.
All the process will talk 10 days

Great explanation. Are you aware of any freelance visas in other emirates like Sharjah, Ajman, etc? I read somewhere that Ajman has a low cost freelance visa. Also, I saw a video of someone saying that the Abu Dhabi freelance visa can be obtained for around AED 6K (they mentioned lower cost insurance options too). To be honest, I find the 13K cost a bit too high for my particular use case (not sure yet whether I want to stay there long term), so a cheaper option would be great.
Thank you for your kind words. I am unsure about other options. I enjoy what I have because everything is 100% mine and I am not bound to a free zone or other company.

On the twofour54 website, they mention that the cost of the freelance permit is AED 3,538.5. In your case, was this part of the AED 4,600 E-channel fee that you paid? Also, if I opt for getting sponsored by an Abu Dhabi free zone, will I be able to purchase a cheaper health insurance?

I used ADCB for my business account and it went fine Rak Bank also can accommodate businesses less than 1 year old with a plan that doesn’t require a large monthly limit.

This doesn't seem to work anymore unfortunately if you don't already have an Emirates ID, as when you click on Freelance license it now goes to TAMM which requires UAE PASS/Emirates ID. The question is, how does one get the license/visa without UAE Pass, because based on the new method it is impossible?

Thanks so I got this license so I could sponsor myself for a visa so I would not have to work for a company to get a residence visa. So this way I can provide services for other companies without needing them to stay in the UAE.

My freelance visa did not require a physical location and yes it is valid for 3 years.

My pleasure the business name is what ever you want it to be and under the business you apply for your personal visa with your actual name. It’s hard to say how much the residency visa was exactly because there are many things you also need to have to complete the full process. Such as the echannel, emirates ID, insurance etc. my total price was about 13k aed there may be other places that do it for less but I like having complete control of my company.

Isn't it the cheapest if you do it yourself?
There are agencies that also help with the process and they may have better rates or deals for insurance but the price can vary depending on what they charge as a company for fees. So it could be more or less. 🤷🏽♀️ sorry if that was confusing.

I am unsure about the business opportunities but I believe I am allowed to do business anywhere in the UAE.
With this visa u will get temporary labour work permit to work a company.for example: 6 month?

Hi, I'm a non-UAE native, software engineer living outside UAE. Is it possible for me apply for a freelance visa but then come to UAE and work for any company within UAE?
From what I understand if you plan on working for a company you are better off getting a visa that allows you to come and look for work. Or getting an offer before you arrive. If you get a freelance visa and have no income it will be difficult to find work and pay for your living expense at the same time.
If I don't have my own business then can I work in any school or company of free zones? Using freelance visa and license can work physical (not virtual) any place of free zone?
I don’t know about free zones I have a mainland business license.
But can I work or teach in-person using freelance visa.

E-Channel & Insurance are too expensive for individual....
E Channel is one time investment but insurance has to renew every year.
AED950 is normal insurance fee on company employment visa ...
You didn't share license.... I have to suggest them company name later that will appear on license ?
Not sure I understand what you are asking but because I have an investor visa the insurance company I chose only allows certain plans for that visa type. When I got my business license I told them the name I wanted to have and I just needed to translate it into Arabic.

I’m still figuring that out to be honest. And looking for networking opportunities. I already had a few clients before I started fully though.
What type clients do you deal with?

Hi, I have applied with passport scan copy and attested trade diploma for Freelance license from Abu Dhabi on June 8th, 2022, now 5th day completing but no any confirmation email from ADBC and I have not any proof for application submit, only showed amount list total cost AED 1230/- I don’t know why, (actual cost is AED 530/- ) Please let me know how many days you receive confirmation email from ADBC. I am unsure of your hold up but I would think that because there is a processing time period that you have to allow at least 5-7 business days then maybe try calling? Because I live in AD I was able to visit the ADBC with my questions.
@@AbbyTeachingAfar Thank you, today I have called ADBC, receiver told me reapply, I have applied today, 5 activates same amount AED1230/- , application under process, I have viewed my license there was mentioned expiry date after 3 months, (14-06-22 to 13-09-22) is this license only 3 months for AED 1230/- not 2 years. @@nadimayazim7588 My Trade name has my name in it and I supposed at the time when I got it everything was included I have had mine for over 2 years now so things and prices have changed.

I believe you have to have your documentation and visa through the school for that.
@@AbbyTeachingAfar The thing is, I'm teaching in Qatar now and I plan to relocate to Dubai. I'm a single lady so I'll need a school visa. Not all schools are ready to provide one. Some schools even compromise on the salary if they agree to providing a visa.
@@RR-lx7ll oh wow I haven’t had or heard of any experiences like that and I work in a Dubai School for 3 years under a visa they provided. I also went with an agency to have access to a database of good schools when I started my international teaching.

It’s a freelance visa, different that a traditional business so extra employee visas are not allowed.
