we sri lankans were devastated by the recent terrorist attacks that brought the country to a stand still. For about two months nobody dared to visit here and there were thousands of people who depended on tourism who couldn't afford their daily living. Tourist arrivals are slowly picking up now.. And its just the perfect timing to have this series. Thank you soooo much guys. Loads of love from SL

We could see the party bus when my wife and I was there , watching and dancing on our balcony , debating to go see what was happening , major jealousy! Pretty sure I have footage from the distance ! AmaJng video as always guys
I think the SL Rail authorities should have fined them heftily seeing as they knew exactly what they were doing and broke the law anyway hoping to get away with it. They got in a coach they didn’t buy tickets for and saying out loud on camera that once the train moves, they will be ok. It is willful breaking of the law. And those observation car tickets cost less than $10 from Kandy to Badulla and you traveled only a part of it. The fares on the London subway can cost more than that for a single ride for the longest routes. This is just another classic example of Western tourists visiting Asia and see how far their privilege will go and just sets a bad example.
Reminds me of the time I spent a year in a Mongolian brothel regrowing two of my legs after a very unfortunate run in with a rather upset dwarf. Here here, lads! cheers!

Not sure that any of the world famous tourist hot spots ive been to are up to the hype! But my favourite is Erawan falls in Thailand or obviously the Pyramids in Egypt. this srilanka series has become my favourite tv show at the moment absolute smashed it guys! We are moving to Chiang mai in September so if we see you paddy we are gonna have to come say hi!! safe travels guys xx

One of my favorite episodes of the series so far. You guys got some great shots and I loved your camping spot! That was also really cool that the company arranged for your tuktuk to meet you somewhere ahead of time so that you could ride the train. I know you're budgeteers but it seems like for that, 1st class tickets booked ahead of time would be the only thing that I would do differently. It also makes me wonder what you would have seen if you would have just driven the tuktuk instead of taking the train. Either way it looked like a once in a lifetime experience. A world famous tourist spot that I think is up to the hype is the Gion District in Kyoto, Japan. There are quite a bit of tourists, but just walking through the old city streets and seeing the sunset view at the top at the temple was worth everything.
That Bus rave made me crazy!!!! It's really nice I wish I could dance there too in out door like crazy in the very cold nuwara eliya..feeling bit jealous I'm living out of Sri Lanka.
Epic sunrise. I see that it took a lot of effort to see it, but most valuable "things" in life takes effort. In the end, the more effort you make the better, outcome of it tastes. Cheers !

...places that I have visited that lived up the hype... Grand Canyon, Himalayas, Yosemite Park, Amsterdam, Highlands, Snowdonia and Liverpool! I do have to say though Death Valley, Route 66 and Alcatraz were real let downs!

I think you witnessed the Thaipusam festival at 4:40 :) (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thaipusam).When I was in Kuala Lumpur (all the way back in 2001), I witnessed something similar at the Batu Caves and it was really special. I travelled Sri Lanka in January 2016 and I'm surprised how much busier it is only three years later. I've travelled to more remote places, but also visited all the hot spots you did (Lion's Rock,, Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, climbed Adam's Peak at night, took the train to Ella), but with less than 50% of the people..
Ooooh so crazy memories! We've rented our tuktuk as well and we went by the same road, I can recognize the view :D and we went to the same 1$ restaurant ! So funny ! Love this video and your channel !
Secret tip, 95% of all tourists take the train in the Colombo to Ella direction. Where as with the early morning train the other direction from Ella to Nuwara Eliya it is often not a problem to get a window seat with the same views :) Excellent episode this one
Sorry to say , you have compared to similar bridges seen in UK which is correct , but that means you have no idea why nine arch bridge in Sri Lanka is so significant .... just google it you will find the back story to realise why so many foreigners visit the site everyday . Thank you for visiting Sri Lanka! Nuwara Eliya is a good escape from the hot and humid climate in other parts of Sri Lanka. Apart from that there isn’t much to see there.
Just to see that you guys have fun in Sri Lanka makes me happy. :) If your budget was bit higher would have been better. But still it's amazing to see that you guys managed to cover up with 1000 dollars. I know you guys finished your Sri Lankan trip but waiting to see more. :) Love from Sri Lanka.

I think you witnessed the Thaipusam festival at 4:40 :) (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thaipusam).When I was in Kuala Lumpur (all the way back in 2001), I witnessed something similar at the Batu Caves and it was really special. I travelled Sri Lanka in January 2016 and I'm surprised how much busier it is only three years later. I've travelled to more remote places, but also visited all the hot spots you did (Lion's Rock,, Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, climbed Adam's Peak at night, took the train to Ella), but with less than 50% of the people..

Secret tip, 95% of all tourists take the train in the Colombo to Ella direction. Where as with the early morning train the other direction from Ella to Nuwara Eliya it is often not a problem to get a window seat with the same views :)

Sorry to say , you have compared to similar bridges seen in UK which is correct , but that means you have no idea why nine arch bridge in Sri Lanka is so significant .... just google it you will find the back story to realise why so many foreigners visit the site everyday . To this point you have done a good job covering Sri Lanka’s hot spots. Thanks

Thank you for visiting Sri Lanka! Nuwara Eliya is a good escape from the hot and humid climate in other parts of Sri Lanka. Apart from that there isn’t much to see there.
Just to see that you guys have fun in Sri Lanka makes me happy. :) If your budget was bit higher would have been better. But still it's amazing to see that you guys managed to cover up with 1000 dollars. I know you guys finished your Sri Lankan trip but waiting to see more. :) Love from Sri Lanka.
