    I live in Switzerland and last winter I catered at an Indian wedding of a rich Family from Kerala India. It was the most amazing thing ever! After the ceremony was over and we stopped working, the cooks and workers invited me to eat with them. The food was insanly good and the people were the nicest!!

      that's why we should all find what is good for us and what makes us happy then go off and do it... as long as it is something good and that it will also make others happy to join it with. Waste of time to do the career our parents say and force us to do when we don't even really like it.

    We got married with only 120 people and it seriously made us crazy with preparation especially food. Because people will talk about the food in wedding 😂 3,000 people to feed, gosh big salute 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Also I heard usually the celebration is more than 1 day. It seriously big deal 💪🏻💪🏻

    25:20 The groom's first question " Didn't you eat the food yet?" that's our culture. Enter other's heart through the stomach. every home welcomes the guest with food. If you say NO, that's the biggest 'crime' you do as a guest :)

    Not everybody can cook at that scale. Usually, mass prepared food often lose their quality. But if that food is as delicious as it looks, then you can be sure that the chef is a legend. 😎

      L Nicolas practice makes perfect. They are doing this kind of preparation for 100s to 1000s of guests on daily basis. Also they gained knowledge from their predecessors and continuing.. most funny thing is that most of those chefs may not have studied in a catering college .. experience and skill

    Thank you so much for your Kerala series! I'm a Malayali who lives in the U.S, and I have to say that I LOVE the weddings. They are the best part of being a Malayali (SO MUCH FOOD!). There aren't many videos about Kerala and our food, so thank you for putting this series!

      I agree, India’s education system is very well regarded. I see many successful engineers, doctors, programmers coming from India to work in the US. You do have to wonder why this doesn’t translate to a more successful home nation though?

      SN N Home nation is busy appeasing minority to convert them into vote-banks who’ll elect corrupt politicians into power who also live like kings on poor people’s taxes. This makes the cream de la cream of the educated youth to flee the country to other countries where the system is a slightly better than here even if they pay less than what they pay their own people.

      Swati Sri terrible to hear that. Corruption on any level in any nation is horrible. There is plenty of corruption in the US to go around, but the highly educated doctors, engineers etc are very well compensated. Our doctors, including many that came from India are the highest paid in the world. Many of the highly successful, in turn, garner many political favors and capital to change laws and policies to obviously help them further. While you may agree or disagree with the ethics of how this works, the highly educated and successful run this nation from behind the scenes. Just surprised you don’t see those highly educated in India do the same.

      they cook this much food many times in a month. for a chef in india thats normal because we are 1.4 BILLION people and most of people are foodie!!
      but i am shocked to see nonvegeterian dishes which i never saw in my state.

      i think it is to bring good fortune to the couple. i notice that India and Mexico have many similarities. There is even an old Mexican Madonna statue I saw that was painted blue like a Hindu icon.

      you have to be rich to throw a wedding party to accommodate and feed 3000 people under one roof

    I enjoyed this video. It's amazing to see the variety and quantity of food. Interestingly, everyone was surprising calm behind the scenes! Food looked delicious. Also, the bride and groom were so welcoming. Ebbin has done a great job of introducing you to Kerala food and culture.
