I have heard this piece, in concert, from just about every countertenor of the last 60 years and this is definitely among the finest performances. I’m so glad you posted it!

He's a countertenor and they are destroying Baroque opera with their falsetto. Countertenors are usually baritones naturally. We no longer have castrato voices, fortunately but countertenors sound nothing like castrati! There's a RUclips video or or was of the last castrato singing an aria. Contraltos are the best fit. Listen to Natalie Strutzman sing it and decide for yourself which is better and more powerful. Castratos despite their voice being high are much more power. Listen to a boy soprano or treble and imagine it being sung by an adult male.
