I love this guy. He has such a great personality. I'm sure he makes an excellent teacher.
Even at a distance I can see the detail and edgework. Beautiful.
Danial is the complete violin man a craftsman of the highest order.
Love the way the teacher admire his art of applying the varnish on the instrument indeed lovely video Thank you! AV Daniel Violin your teacher is a true Master
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account?
I somehow forgot my password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Greyson Eduardo instablaster :)
@Anthony Cohen I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Anthony Cohen it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my account !
@Greyson Eduardo You are welcome :D
I'm sure he's done this a lot of times already but you can see here how much he enjoys doing his craft like it's his first time.
I am so happy watching as the Master varnishing
totally 100% fascinating ! I felt a bit of the joy this artist had applying the color coat !
My daughter was a violinist for a number of years so this was very interesting and informative to watch. Thank you Sir!
@ 10.54 .. the giggles of delight as the maestro's craft comes to life through colour. It's so wonderful to witness.. Thank you for making this video and sharing your craftmanship … I have got so much pleasure from watching you create something so beautiful. :-)
i love music and learning how violins are made its amazing
I appreciate the skill it takes to apply color to wood and make it so even. Skilled hands and a skilled mind are so valuable to watch. I liked your brush technique, instead of using the tip of the brush you flowed the color on with the body of the brush, I will try that the next time I want to apply colored varnish. I am not a violin maker, but am an avid woodworker.
You are a true artist, thank you for the knowledge.
Wonderful video. What a extraordinary talent, teacher and personality!
Look how he looks happy when he does it🤩
can't be happier. thanks, but sad now.
AV Daniel Violin why?
@@AVDanielViolin Well, I hope whatever was worrying you has passed. All the best to you.
@@PaulTheSkeptic thanks
it looks beautyful! love the colour choice!
many thanks for sharing what you achived hard
Thank you Dan..... Beautiful!!!
I love the apprentice off in the background, cool to see.
HI! Daniel Olsen! I'm from Brazil, Congratulation by video, I'm Luthier and like to much your Chanel! Well I found way to varnish natural, use just natural ingredient, can be root, resin, flowers and etc...Thanks so much !!!
Sanding in circles is fine, if done lightly with fine sandpaper and always finish ,by sanding straight with the grain .The idea behind circular motion sanding is to flatten the surface of raised grain etc. But always finish with the grain .I hope this helps .
Thank you for sharing your videos, can I ask what type of paint is in the tube of colour you use?
What do you think about the effect of vanish that you apply to your instrument?
Is it only the color?
I think the vanish is the most important work for the sound of the instrument.
The wood itself is good vibrating material but when the very good finish, not vanish, is applied, the wood is not wood anymore but becomes another fantastic resonant.
A good and beautiful looking instrument does not sound good always.
Good luck to your job.
I enjoyed watching you have way too much fun applying varnish to this violin.
Inspiring, many thanks!
Awesome channel! Very comprehensive videos.
Sure, please follow our videos, thanks
+AV Daniel Violin Hello mr. Daniel. firs of all i really like your videos. Your varnishing hethod is very good. Thanks for your videos. i would like to ask you about the oil varnish. How can i make it? i will be happy if you give me some examples. Thank you very much
to make your own oil varnish is not easy, at least is not as easy as I can make a video.
What varnish do you use sir ?
Beautiful work and excellent instruction! Thank you.
Thank you Daniel 🌹🌹
Daniel thank you for a most interesting presentation.
That smile though :) Much respect!
thank you Daniel, your video helped me, I am only on my 12 violin and being self taught I am always looking for information and different ways of doing things.
This was AWESOME and I don't even play violin. Thank you! Great craftmanship
Beautiful!
What about cooking resin and coating violin with it? Will it result in pleasant resin smell from violin?
Wow it looks amazing!
Thank you
Very healpfull video, great class again.
Looks great!
Can you share with us what color and varnish do you use? Is that acrylic or oil paint? Would you use shellac / French polishing?
nice
I love to see your videos... You are so good
Thank you! 🙏😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Fabulous instruction, but I would greatly appreciate details:
What specific varnish are you using?
What grit of sandpaper?
What specifically is the product in the tube you are using for the second part of the coloring?
Thanks very much.
I got a guy teaching me each step and how to mix the colors, what to use what not to use, he is getti g his appraiser license so he knows hit me up I'm about to restore several old violins, I need the finish to be right.
I was told wet dry 500 grit
Get pigments off eBay, 5 colors dry or 5 colors with a sac gum rosin, which gives an elastic nature. Zinnser clear 100% wax free sandable clear seal coat, I found at local hardware. But this is the best to work with, you'll need a few baby food jars to mix color in, amber, red, brown, for the finger board first black liquid shoe polish, followed by, a couple other steps to be super smooth
Im always like *GO DARKER*
Remember, he said he would put 4 or 5 more coats on the violin before it is complete. I saw a video in about Cremona where they put 50 coats of very thin varnish.
Hi Daniel, You are a Great Teacher. I have learned a lot from you. Keep doing your Good Work.
Excellent daniel,Congratulation,So long.
Beautiful work. Was that artist oil color in the tube? Maybe burnt umber?
I'm not a violinist (I play guitar) but if I was ............ the colour of the bare wood at 0:25 is what I would have to have, to me at least, it looks absolutely stunning.
please 7:07 what color is it? so beautiful this brown goldish color!
You mix your self, is easy ebay sells violin pigment, use zinnser clear sandable clear coat 100% wax free, to mix the pigment with, amber, or red or brown, and or combination of red brown, you need different colors if restoring, different areas of the violin.
I tried to paint a piece of raw pine tree with organic virgin coconut oil. The result seems to me amazing.
Professionally, from the sound point of view, I have not any knowledge if it can be used succesfully on violin wood. What do you think about it?
If it may be used because of good sound response, It should be used on the outside and inside of the violin to avoid stress development.
Is it possible to try it ?
I really liked your first color coat that you applied! What was the color that you mixed with the clear varnish! Thanks so much! Very nice way of applying that color!

Daniel parabens pelo trabalho do violin gostei i muito sou luthier Brasil poderia

Please God, I wanna be his student.
Can we hear this violin after it is finished? Good video
I'm assuming the color is oil, not acrylic or water color?
Thanks for the video how long do I leave to dry the finger color you applying on before putting the clear.
just like oil painting, when you finish the color, let it dry for a couple of days, better for a week, before you apply for next coat of varnish.
Ok thank you your the best.
My brother once drank a gallon of varnish....he had a horrible death but a lovely finish
Humm.. Looks like you've done this before...
🌹
