Im from WA state and cheer on the Seahawks!! I like this idea of going through your treasures and having a game plan for the holiday. This makes me so excited to go through mine :) I lean toward classic rustic and bells. everything is my new thing.
You can paint anything to repurpose for the style you want. You can spray paint bottlebrush trees any color. You can paint over mercury glass. I'm not a fan of silver (in my home) and had a silver mercury glass tree, so I painted it using the brown paint/baking soda technique last year and left the base silver. It gave it a whole new upscale look and never scratched off. I also painted large plastic ball ornaments from Dollar Tree using the baking soda technique. If you don't like a clear glass item you can paint it with a translucent glass paint any color. You can buy textured spray paints or make your own. They even have chrome type, so you could paint a wooden reindeer to look metallic. You can remove or replace greenery/florals/ribbon. You can paint candlesticks/reindeer/trees, etc.
Yes! I love all of these ideas! I’m making a lot of my own ornaments using these techniques. I’ve never been particularly crafty so we will see how it turns out
I’m going to be diy’ng a lot of ornaments this year, not because I have to. I have enough ornaments to decorate 10 trees at least. I just like to diy them, Also I like unique colors like Plum. Aldi has the PB deer dupes. I think it was in November last year, the bronze and the gold ones, I couldn’t decide, so I got both. I never shopped at Aldi until last year but you can check online and look at their current ad along with a sneak peak of the next week. And let me tell you, those deer will be gone before the week is half done. I checked with my store what day they put out the decor each week and I was there that morning in line with about a dozen other people. I’m really hoping that the bronze trees that PB came out with last year will be at Aldi this year! Also along with all the types of diy someone else mentioned, you can also decoupage like on that wood sign, maybe.

@@hc2940 Go Hawks! Big game on Monday night! I found two more tubs after I filmed this video too 🫣 it was so fun!
Would love to see a diy video of how you update everything! Great video
I will definitely make one!!
Paint the red on the wooden christmas trees black or gold rub and buff or combo black with gold rub and buff.
Good idea!
18:46 Costco holiday pillows are the best! We got the ghost & pumpkin (they were under $10). Just bought the snowman & candy pillow that is out now.
I need to run to Costco to see their Christmas ones! Last time I was there I didn’t see any.

@@trinapemberton I’ll keep an eye out at Aldi for the dupes! I also heard big lots has them as well. Hoping to snag them up somewhere!
@@kaylabieber4663 oh yes they do, your right!
You could paint your gold deer another color and re use it.
I don’t love the quality of it. I’m going get a heavier one that stays up better 😊
