emily, i just wanted to stop in the comments before watching to let you know how much i always appreciate these vids. i don’t normally comment, but i always give them a like. your content is so comforting for me and has helped me through a lot (primarily ed recovery). thanks for being our chill vegan queen 🫡
haven’t watched the new vid yet but just wanted to say i love ur vids so much!! they’re so comforting and a nice go-to when i need something familiar to relax and distract myself from my anxiety 💗 ur food also always looks so delicious and is great inspo 🙏
Thank you Emily. I’ve been having a really difficult time lately. But when you were talking about the chicken on the fork I couldn’t stop laughing. Also everything looks delicious. Thank you for the endless food creativity.
A tip I have when using the miokos mozzarella for pizza if you have a cheese grater is to grate it directly over the pizza it also works for pasta and chili I’ve used this method with vegan cheese slices I just grate the whole stack of slices
that light life sausage tube is my absolute favourite, I make sausage dressing with it, but that pizza looks so so good! and use them scissors, your kitchen, your food!
21:38 I also use scissors to cut my pizza cos whenever I use a pizza slicer it drags all the toppings with it and it's annoying cos I want the toppings to stay where the they are! also I have Italian friends who said they also use scissors to cut pizza so
Emily I really love your videos, I have a little advice as someone who regularly makes vegan pizza(not that there's a wrong way to make it). If you knead your dough into a smooth, round ball then spread it roughly with your hands before picking it up and stretching it by pulling your knuckles apart gently(a bit more each pull as the gluten relaxes), you get a crust that's evenly thin everywhere except the rim. And brushing on garlic oil(or just a mix of olive oil, garlic powder, and salt) on the crust after baking instead of before really elevates the look and texture.
For the soup! You should try just making the roast as per usual and cutting it up once it’s cooked to add into the pre made “chicken” and rice soup! I think it might hold its shape better that way
Love all these videos !! I’m vegetarian, not vegan but these fit my lifestyle so well. I cook this exact same way (except maybe more soup if you can believe it) and love the ways you come up with new and fun ways to do it!
@@emlyewng my dog just passed away and i really needed this. Thank you for everything that you do. Your videos are like therapy for me on my darkest days.
For homemade pizza, everyone, you don't need yeast. Just 1 1/3 cup flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c water 2 T olive oil and 1/2 tsp salt. Done. Easy. Yum.
I know it seems like an extra step but it really helps if you start by browning any meat sub and then removing it, then starting the veggies in the pan after. The meat sub will get crispy and the veggies will have some flavor
a couple videos ago (or a year idk time is fake) you made a blush pasta sauce by blending silken tofu and a jar of sauce. i made that last night and it was sooooo good. i told my bf I was making it and he kind of wrinkled his nose and then after he ate half the bowl he asked "did you not put the tofu in it?"
Thank you for commenting because I also picked up on the reference. At first I thought I was crazy because no one else in the comments said anything about it! We love Freckle!😅
you can also pre-bake your pizza crust for like 5 minutes before adding toppings - I have celiac and you typically have to do that for most GF pizzas to keep them from getting soggy, but it obviously works with normal pizzas too
every day i wake up and look for a good comfy video to watch before starting the day and if you posted recently its always you your vibes are so calming bro
I agree about just a little sugar tasting the best. I use to love sugar but then I started reducing how much I had and I’m finally use to just a little sugar. For the 1st time I love strawberries with no sugar added to them. 😊
So funny, I literally bought that Japanese bbq sauce for the first time tonight - so good but I had the same thought with the bottle! Like it’s a thin sauce why and how is it getting stuck?? Love your vids always ❤
I love hummus pasta. I thought I was the only one! One time I was cat sitting for my cousin and I brought pasta and veggies to make for dinner but I forgot the tomato sauce at home. I was like shoosh that stinks what can I do? I made a sauce with roasted garlic hummus, pasta water and some seasonings. It came out so creamy and silky and amazing and filling and I was so impressed. Now I add a dollop of hummus to creamy sauces all the time. It's good stuff!
I still have a vegan turkey in the freezer from Thanksgiving so I think I'm gonna make a soup out of it (if it's still in date) thank you for this left over inspiration!
Always waiting for the weirdly-pronounced word of the video to giggle, and today’s did not disappoint: “I got scared” in a British accent 😂 Love your vids, Emily!
Last christmas I made the nora cooks vegan cinnamon sugar donuts and those were really really good. If you don't want cinnamon you just leave it out and go for other topings.
Emily tip from a former baker, pre-bake the dough with sauce and no toppings dor like 8-10 mins before you add the cheese and other toppings and it wont get soggy :)
okay I should do that but i also worry that i need to get new baking sheets... they have kindof a ridged surface and I worry it's making the bottom get dark quicker ?
You can make the seaweed salad and top sushi with it! I recently had a delicious roll from Japanese delivery that was a veggie roll topped with seaweed salad. Not sure how I didn’t think of that before. Love you videos!!!
I have made plant based strawberry milk before. Really good. Still aiming to try Strawberry Green Tea. May do that tomorrow. Sounds so good. I've made deep pan pizzas like that before. Love it. Just have to cook them longer. That looked good. I have those same green plates you had or it was blue. But they are made from hay. Love them.
I make hummus pasta often when I have no energy, literally just pasta, pasta water, and a glob of hummus (I get roasted garlic flavour so I don't have to season it much lol). Only complaint is it dries out SUPER fast 😮💨
These rice rolls look a lot like gimbap - which are Korean rice rolls. They get pretty creative with the fillings, so if anyone gives you guff, just wave them away.
Okay I feel the sugar / no sugar thing. I was in the soda isle and everything would have like 40g of sugar per bottle… or 0 sugar. Taste-wise I prefer cane sugar over sugar-free alternatives or the other end of the spectrum: fructose cornsyrup, but don’t want like THAT much sugar. Can they make versions with just like… half the sugar. Basically I was frustrated over the same exact thing literally.
omg wait i might sound crazy but did you reference The Gay And Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo?? “sometimes things that are expensive are worse”. if not ignore me lol love your vids always ❤️❤️❤️

!!! yes

As an Italian gal, can I suggest to make the hummus pasta with sun-dried tomatoes? They taste so good with chickpea, it's amazing!
The peta baked vegan doughnuts are my favourite recipe. But double it and make the same amount of doughnuts. Really easy to customize.
Leftover veggies are good for bibimbap. That’s what I use for my leftovers and make a rice bowl of it.
As someone who isn't confident in the kitchen, I really admire the way you cook! It inspires me to try new things.
Thank you Emily. I’ve been having a really difficult time lately. But when you were talking about the chicken on the fork I couldn’t stop laughing.
Also everything looks delicious. Thank you for the endless food creativity.
SAME! I re-watched the chicken on the fork moment four times. I needed a good laugh!
Just tried making a strawberry iced latte like you did and omg I can’t believe I wasn’t using jam to make strawberry milk sooner!!! ❤
yessss 🍓🫙💚

Could you make a lil vid of you making your coffee? I need some new ideas bc I’m tired of the same stuff I usually have!
I’m not vegan but I love these videos! There’s just this chill vibe around these that’s so calming.

yess!!! its so good! its surprising (and yes it was my last video but a few weeks ago haha)
you’ve just given me such a hack with cutting oily things, I hate cleaning up the sundried tomato oil from a chopping board!!! amazing!!!
i love sharing hacks that are actually helpful!!
Wow. I'm really impressed with your cooking skills and how resourceful you were with your leftovers!
Happy Birthday Emily!!
thank you! lol
omg sweet tomatoes!!! what a throwback. RIP.
Lmaooo at the "sometimes things that are more expensive are worse" reference. Also at the cursed chicken and pasta forkful

Anyone else:
That's right! Keep cutting everything with scissors cause it's way easier. #fightthepower ✊🏾

Another amazing what Emily has been eating lately and using up what is left in the kitchen. Love 🥰 Emily's video's.
Just found your channels and your chaotic cooking is really getting me. Thank you for being a refreshing change from super polished videos!

Your hummus pasta and sushi look great to me! I'm not vegan, but I'd try the hummus pasta honestly
Emily tip from a former baker, pre-bake the dough with sauce and no toppings dor like 8-10 mins before you add the cheese and other toppings and it wont get soggy :)

You're not alone, the last 2x that I purchased the Japanese BBQ sauce the nozzle was bad. But the sauce is SO GOOD!
PLEASE do a kitchen tour 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I’m on the freezer clean out as well… amazing how much you can find in there to save money and waste! 🎉
freezers are so helpful but also can become a black hole so quick

I love your kitchen shears
How did you make the spam musubi meat? Oh and what was your pizza crust recipe? Looked so good! Thanks
Sushi night looked so good!
Pasta with chickpea sauce DOES sound way better than hummus pasta :) I'm trying it with coconut milk and curry powder!
made my day 🥰
Strawberry latte 😱🤯🍓 will try!!!!
These rice rolls look a lot like gimbap - which are Korean rice rolls. They get pretty creative with the fillings, so if anyone gives you guff, just wave them away.
The Gardein Turkey is my FAVE😮

Cute haircut!!!!

Hmmmm, never heard of Daring Chicken. I'll have to look for it.
Mine gets stuck in the nozzle too! It’s really annoying. I always just end up taking the top off when I need to pour
That Pizza looked so good.
omg wait i might sound crazy but did you reference The Gay And Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo?? “sometimes things that are expensive are worse”. if not ignore me lol love your vids always ❤️❤️❤️
light life is the OG I believe it was the first co to come out with vegan lunchmeat in the 90s
how do make your rice so sticky and perfect?
my roommate has a japanese rice cooker with a sticky rice setting so that's probably most of it & i used calrose rice!
“Cause I really wanna make soup.” Yes, Emily, we know
They’re KITCHEN SHEARS people. Sheesh ❤🧑🏼🎤🍕give Emily a break. 💋

Honestly the pasta DID NOT look bad. It kind of reminded me of what stroganoff looks like.
Sometimes... things that are expensive......... are worse.
