Silken tofu is literal witchcraft - I make chocolate pudding with it and have been wanting to try a no bake key lime pie with it too
Don’t be shy, share the recipe…. But Fr I love chocolate pudding and with the silken tofu I bet it’s like super super smooth
I remember I tried making the avocado chocolate pudding, and it tastes stunning, but one bite of it and 20 minutes later there’s a whole war going on in my stomach. I’ll have to try the tofu version haha
Ooh the key lime sounds like a great idea
my nana used to make a homemade chex mix for the holidays and now my mom makes it and its a big deal for the whole fam - i dont think trail mix being your thing is too vegan or anything, it reminded me of our family's mix. ❤
Why does homemade chex mix sound so good? What a cute family tradition.
omg when i said you can also mix cereal into trail mix i was not registering that that’s literally chex mix haha and thats so cute! 💚
That tofu marinara sauce is genius. Gonna try.
a fun thing to give out would be cake mix in a jar! It's sweet but lasts a long time. You just put flour, sugar, chocolate chips and any other dry ingredients in a jar and gift it with a recipe that tells people what wet ingredients they need to add and how to bake it. Savory nuts like chili pumpkin seeds or something would also be good. Or homemade tea blends!
i'm in love w that hangry jar
my family used to bottle salsa to give to neighbors after our “harvest” lol from our garden during the summer and it was actually super fun to make and made good use of our garden. it also made me feel better about having so many plants
I've made dried soup mixes in the past. I put them in mason jars and tied the instructions on with cute twine. This year I did Chili Rosemary Pecans - I riffed on the Betty Crocker recipe, and those were a hit - a nice sweet and salty mix. Ranch crackers or ranch pretzels are also a classic.
This year I made this rosemary nuts recipe that I found in a friend's copy of the momofuku milk bar cookbook, and then remixed the recipe with orange and vanilla flavored ingredients and gave jars of those out along with the recipes! They are so good and my family loved them too. The cookbook is not super vegan friendly but if you can find this recipe I highly recommend it!
oh that sounds so good & yes i think people appreciate something unique like that around the holidays!
i have been super into pasta lately! i have two staple recipes and i usually use protein pasta
for recipe 1, its kind of like a mock bolognese? i start with onion and oil and then i add grounds (usually impossible) and a shit ton of spinach. once the spinach is all tiney, i usually add mirin, tomato past, sugar, and minced garlic. i'm sure if you use marinara in place of tomato past it would work pretty well because my sauce is usually p thick- i always add a decent bit of pasta water and i like the veg/ pasta ratio to be pretty even! it is soooo tasty, you could also add other veg like broccoli
the other recipe is a sauce i blend and use later! i roast 2-3 bell peppers and 2-3 onions, add about a bag of frozen spinach, half a block of firm tofu, tomato paste to taste, garlic and sugar + spices. usually i use water to thin it but i bought carrot juice and used that last time and it adds a nice sweetness! its reaaally good and if you have issues with the acidity of tomato you can omit it entirely. good with pasta and sauteed onions
these sound delicious 👀👀
I love these videos from you!! Usually WIEIAW videos bore me but yours are so amazing and give me so many easy delicious recipes to try xxx thanks for the content over the years ! HAPPY NEW YEARS!!
i make the waffle sammy in the air fryer and it’s soooo good. i follow the instructions and cook the chicken until it’s mostly done and then add the waffle for a couple mins and it’s honestly fire
I accidentally made amazing pasta sauce with tofu and now I make it all the time! If you blend up silken tofu with a lot of basil, nutritional yeast, some liquid (I use vegan milk but water works too) to thin it out a bit, and spices (salt, pepper, garlic, other spices) and optional oil u can make a really creamy pesto style dressing and it’s SO GOOD
I also use tofu to make mayo sometimes which is also 10/10, I recently started adding chipotle chili paste and lime to make a chipotle mayo and it’s just perfect🤤 Silken tofu is a blessing
You should gift vanilla extract! You can reuse or thrift some cheap jars too. The only expensive thing is vanilla beans and for the alcohol you can use the cheapest vodka you can find.
Waking up in the morning and getting a notification of a new video from you ♥️ best end to this year :)
Yesss! Never been this early but dropping everything I was doing just to watch
NEW EMI VID LET'S GO FAM
Started watching lately, I really like your sense of humor and love hearing you recommendations for vegan products! Here's to the next year, looking forward to more of your videos!
I was just trying to figure out what to make for dinner without having to leave the house and the tofu pasta sauce saved me. lol. I ran upstairs to make sure I still had a block of silken tofu, I think I'm gonna make it into a pasta bake!
You always have so many good ideas! It inspires me to be more creative with my food.
i used the tofu mac and cheese recipe from the hidden veggies a few times but i added like a half cup of nooch instead of 4 tablespoons
I made gingerbread Granola one Christmas and gave it to friends, that would be my thing! I love that idea too
Pre-minced garlic gang 🫡🧄🫡🧄
Something about the fact that vegans use chopsticks ONLY for Asian noodles and no other type of pasta is so funny to me
Love 🥰 a what Emily has been eating lately video with yummy 😋 awesome recipes. It's always good to get a notification from Emily.
happy new years!!
this video made me crave trail mix
The end of the year didn’t feel very Christmas-y for me either honestly. Thank you for the content regardless! ☺️
love u emily 🫶🏼🫶🏼
Trail mix is my guilty pleasure (homemade and store-bought). Idk what it is about trail mix but I could eat that stuff endlessly!
Okay but savory trail mix as a foodie gift or OR like those candied nuts but SAVORY instead!! I'm getting ideas lol. I think the holiday spirit continues into January so I'm glad for this inspiration I am definitely going to make some NEW YEARS gifties.
yes i would love to make 3 or 4 different flavored batches with at least one being more of a savory snack mix! maybe rosemary something so it seems holiday related still
@@emlyewng Ohhhhh rosemary would be so good!
@@emlyewng I did that this year with pecans and they were so good. Brown sugar and rosemary as the base, then some were chili, some were black pepper, and some were Old Bay.
Best organizing tip I have for those weird cabinets is putting a little lazy Susan in like a little clear acrylic one
oh true i have one in another shelf and its the best i should honestly buy like 5 & put them everywhere… im sick of not being able to see things
your videos are like if an animal crossing npc were to make cooking videos and i love it
ooooh when you said use a hand blender to make the silken tofu pasta sauce that made me want to try!!
Ooo I really wanna try that blush sauce! Gotta find a low acidity marinara sauce first though...
emily have you ever made vegan cheesecake with blended tofu? I haven't but the tofu in the blender got me thinking lol
Nut duussttt xD I cackled. Great idea with the trailmix being your 'thing'; healthy is appreciated around the holidays, so I may steal this idea lol.
yes steal it! haha i was just looking around at the amount of sweets i have right now like 😅 even just something savory would be nice
I don't know if anybodys asked before but what kind of filming equipment do you use? Your videos and audio are always such good quality!
I bought the vegan chicken waffle, and I microwaved mine too & air fried. I just separated the waffle from the chicken, and took out the waffle in a minute and left the chicken to cook longer since it’s a frozen patty. 😊
I have that exact tofu so I am Def going to make it, , thanks
Maybe pan fry the just egg
you have a doppelgänger! there’s a girl in my college class who looks almost exactly like you and has the same name as you!
Thank goodness another Emily Ewing video .
omg gotta try that silken tofu pasta! also can't wait for your vids next year :)
Love the pantry organization. If you don't eat your nuts quickly, it's best to store them in the freezer to avoid going rancid.
You can write with sharpie on stainless steel and use rubbing alcohol to remove it. Not sure if that helps!
Healthy Happy Vegan New Year Emily:)))💚💖💚
Chia seeds last longer in the fridge btw, not sure how quickly you go through them :P
Can u pls remind me the name of the vegan chocolate protein bars you used to always get from thrive market that you looooved
the nugo dark chocolate pretzel bars! 💚
@@emlyewng yes thanks queen
I AM NAKED!!
How about infused olive oil for a gift?
Idk how people hate raisins. I'll defend raisins until the day I die lol they're so good in cookies/baked goods, oatmeal, trail mix, etc. They're the best
right they are very complementary!!
Where did you get your broccoli steamer?
You’ve never had chicken and waffles huh? Lots of sauces Lol Aldi had a frozen one that I tried and it was yummy but yes u def have to do the waffle and the chicken separate. I always do syrup and hot sauce. Franks red hot works great. Never had the ego brand but I’m sure it’s good too.
Maybe stir the egg in when the ramen broth is really hot and make egg drop soup!
im trying to keep up with the video but the subtitles arent up yet 😭 the food looks good tho !
Not the nut dust😭
I am like allergic to every nut and also like to a lot of seeds. It looks so tasty that I would love to try it but like.. I would literally die lol
i would appreciate trail mix
MISS YOU HOPE YOU MAKE A VIDEO SOON
i will!! im working on multiple at once right now don’t worry 🫣 before the end of the month
i never tried any of these recipes but they all look really good...i just came across this yummy GOLDEN BEET REUBEN from "Hot for Food"...You could also probably use an electric panini press, but the way she does it looks scrumptious...🌿

Mac and cheese with tofu 🥰 you can blend cooked carrots, potatoes, garlic, onion, soaked cashews, nooch, salt, pepper, turmeric and a bit of lemon juice. Add jalapeno juice if you like it a little bit spicy. I also add tofu, you can't even tell it's there. I saw it in Hannah Mcneely's cookbook.
Also very stereotypical vegan but homemade granola could be a fun and creative gift too
I’m pretty sure there’s a cocoa shortage, so chocolate has gone up! The chips are definitely more expensive.
😢😢😢😢😢
19:53 I have never seen you smile
I love ur videos it's hard for me going vegan though
23:23! yee Lol
Trader joes chocolate chips are vegan and well priced(:
The chocolate chips at Trader Joe’s are vegan and are like $2-$3
