What story had you on the edge of your seat? I'm torn between Dr Danni's dog and Tim Faulkner! 😥
Dr. Danni and Bear. Her husband really loves that pup
I have a question...does it make a snake not dangerous if it’s head is not triangle like? That brown snake looked like one I had helped last winter now I feel it was dangerous we called animal control because we live in a neighborhood they said it was a brown snake but said it was harmless also it was only an inch long and was sick it had frosted over the next day and was not in are house so uhhhh yea.....
@@jenivarca1166 Depends entirely where you live. Triangle head is a decent indicator from a distance, but you shouldn't rely on that for your identification. If you're in australia, treat all snakes as venomous unless you know for sure otherwise. If you're in the US, it was more likely just a small garden or rat snake, which are harmless (beyond a minor bit of bleeding if you're bitten).
Also in the US if the snake is a solid color with no patterning on the back, it's much less likely to be venomous.
The Eastern Coral Snake is one example of a snake that doesn't have a triangular head, but it carries enough venom to kill 5 adult humans at any given time. So don't rely on the shape of them. Just look up and learn to identify the snakes in your area, and don't go near one if you aren't 100% sure that it's safe.
I wanted to cry just seeing the look on Danni’s face
@@Palitato Great answer!
Imagine getting a stick into your eye.. and not getting blind 😳
And the pain when you try to blink..
The poor thing must have been in serious discomfort.
I once had a patient with a 1in long cactus spine in his eye. I thought something was on his eye. Nope! Pulled it out and panicked because, hole. He healed extremely well lol
@Walter It was at the very base of the cornea so it was hard to see what it actually was. It looked like a seed was stuck under the conjunctiva. When I started trying to pull it off, a whole lot more came with it. I panicked because stuff like that can potentially rupture the eye. The cat and I both lucked out. Within a week it was completely healed. Guess I should've added more context.
That dogs brain turned into mash potatos
And then imagine how many times cats blink per day.
31:33 When they First see something in cats eye, 31:53 When they begin to pull it out.

Hi draper
Why is nobody talking about the fact that a tick bite is that deadly, I’ve heard of Lyme disease. But they said paralysis tick like it’s a specific species. Australia is crazy

Are you from Europe? If so, we don’t have that here (yet). These specific kinds of toxin(s) occur only in certain tick-species home to NA, SA, AUS and potentially Africa (?).

@Mac Mike yeah I know about Lyme a girl in my elementary class got it and was out of school for what felt like years when she came back every one was surprised every one’s parents had told them she might die and they might never see her again or a least my classmates parents did. As a kid I ran around in the woods and would come home with them crawling on me and I was worried about Lyme disease or West Nile virus..i definitely wouldn’t have been stomping around the woods had my parents told me there was such a thing as paralysis ticks. I think my young brain would have definitely been scared of that instead of the things that reminded me rivers and fruit.
The first story touched me. A week ago my dog started collapsing ( what we thought were seizures) turned out that he had a tumor and it was so large and had done so much internal damage to his body that he was too far gone and he died today. My baby didn't have any noticeable symptoms and we took him to the vet regularly and he always had good check ups, so it was such a shock when we found out what was going on.
Im so sorry for your loss. Our fur babies definitely make our world a better place. I hope you can find comfort in your memories with your baby.

My cat had to have a 5 and a half inch twig removed from his cheek last year and he was purring the whole time the vet pulled it without a sedative and I was like wtf you crazy cat I'd have screamed.
Many cats purr as a self-soothing behavior. There's a number of researchers & professionals who posit that purring also provides some actual pain mitigation (via releasing compounds into the bloodstream). Lots of mama cats purr during/after giving birth. On a side note, the cat WAS sedated while the vets were playing around w/it's eye.

Yep, such a strong cat
i do volunteer work as a animal rescuer in the Netherlands, A couple years ago we rescued a Jan van Gent (big bird) and he had something is his eye. Later we learned that the thing in his eye was the mouth from a garfish and it was about the same size as the stick they took out from the cats eye. The vet had the same reaction as the two girls and so did we. We think the bird took a dive and smashed into the fish. Unfortunately the eye was lost and we had to put the bird to sleep because they can not live with one eye in the wild. Glad to see the cat had more luck.
Jan van Gent = Ganute
Couldn’t the Bird not Life in a zoo or some kind of sanctuary? Like in a cage in a controlled environment? Just asking don’t know, because here we have zoos only for birds, maybe one of these could’ve taken him? Or are they not able to overlife even in a cage where they fed daily with one eye? Couldn’t find out what a bird it was!
@@Catlover-jr4mj the bird would’ve been to used to living in the wild, it’d probably be hard(Er) to get it eating, and stuff like that. (Edit) also the bird could refuse to eat and starve anyway.
@@waltertaljaard1488 thanx, i google said it was the same name.
@@EE-eh5fc You're right. We actually asked a few sanctuary's if it was possible if the bird could live in a controlled environment. But they said the same and also it's still a wild animal. Me and my co-workers were very sad but at the end we had to say it was the right choice.
The Two little girls that came for their chicken were adorable.
My cat lived to be 21 but started having a seizure roughly every other month at 19, it was so hard watching him a thrash about so violently and then lay there so dazed and out of it, every time it happened it felt like I was watching him die and I was afraid I was going to lose him because he was so old, but he always pulled out of it just fine and in the end passed peacefully
I’m glad he didn’t pass while he was in his worst state
please, can you explain a bit more why this was happening?
my cat is getting old too.
21 years?!?!?!
@@thaliakalli4207 yes thats possible, you just dont feed them with plastic food they sell. cats are completely exclusively only carnivores, they should eat raw meat everyday. i feed my cat only meat, mostly raw, beef raw, chicken boiled, sometimes boiled fish or eggs, and he is in perfect shape, still playing or running around like a child. they also need fresh air to let in
did they die?
I always hope with tick paralysis that they don’t stop looking just because they find one. I’ve found one tick on a dog or cat, but more often than not I’ve found more than one.
I was surprised too but we only see extracts of what is happening. Perhaps the owner had told them she had looked carefully but not found any when her son's cat had first seemed sleepy or drunk, and so the vet assumed that was the one tick that had got away, as after two days of feasting on the poor cat all others would have been as big and easily noticeable as that one if they were not, like this one, hidden in the folds of his no-longer working legs. Or maybe they did check later on for more, but put the cat back into the oxygen room because it was a very anxious and stressed cat so they only pulled him out for a couple of minutes at a time.
@@auChevalierRed I agree, we just see a little snippets of what actually happened and I bet they did a thorough investigation

Paco acts exactly like my old cat did with vets.... minus being injured or ill. She just hated other people.
She had to go in for a dental as a senior (few weeks shy of 13) and it was a blood bath. Putting her under was fine, despite their concerns around the anaesthesia. What they weren't prepared for was her to come out of it SWINGING. Scratched up at least 4 people from the yelps and angry cat noises we heard from the consultation room.
My mom and I eventually had to go back there to get her because she was stressed and now aiming at the face. Thank god she was slightly less likely to cause bloodshed with people she recognised, lol.
I will take a big, even angry dog over an angry cat any size any day!! Cats turn liquid when they're angry!! Wherever your try to control them suddenly one dangerous end is swinging!
@@rmoenmjea Yeah. That's the only thing, cats turn into noodles with sharp things.
Gotta be so careful when they engage the back end and start bunny kicking, that hurts like hell.
At least in our case both sisters were from the same litter and had a very rough start, so they would always be, at best, aloof around new people.
I remember this, I was getting a kitten for my 6th b/day, ended up with 2. I was confused but years later my mom told me why we had both and I quote 'they said whichever kitten we didn't take, that they had a bucket of water waiting for them in the back'.

@@jenivarca1166 Ok.
Not only am I glad that Bear now has way less seizures for her own sake, but I can only imagine how difficult it would have been to lose her now for an former soldier having needed her to go back to civilian life in one piece. Neither he nor Danni need this to happen at this particular time of their lives, when they have a young baby to take care of.
When seeing the seizures I kept thinking of how scared the dog must have been. They don’t understand what is going on. Did he think he was dying? What was going through his mind? Then hearing Danni comfort him must have calmed his otherwise terrified mind. The poor dog!
@@eph2vv89only1way Seizures are indeed very stressful for dogs, as in the wild seizures quickly bring about death (having one when rending them vulnerable to accidents and to attacks they can not defend against, for example), all animals instinctively see them as death scare. A former neighbour of mine had a dog like that, mine would warn me of his up-coming seizures so that I'd jump over the gate and reassure the poor dog as well as keeping him safe from injuring himself while having a seizure.
I actually think that if they can not control Bear's seizures fully at some stage, perhaps they ought to consider getting another dog, an adult one preferably, if they can afford to, as he would warn them usually a few minutes before they start, and that would be a lot less dangerous and stressful for Bear too.
The most difficult with seizures for the sufferer is the coming out of them, when you don't know where you've been but you feel like you've been run through a mill and dropped off a cliff. I've had a few of those following the strokes induced by an assault sustained, and they do not feel at all like what people see, from the outside, the milder ones excepted.
You do nto see yourself (mild ones aside) shaking, you do not feel yourself hurting your head or body against whatever hard surfaces you are hitting against but you feel a sudden drop of pressure as if you had dropped 40 floors in a split second then nothing until you come out of it and you don't know where you've been or why you are on the floor , why time has passed and you are certain you had not fallen asleept or why your head is bleeding and your keyboard or the corner of the table is soaking from it, but your chest hurts, your head feels very light and stiff and you want to get out of something as if your life depended on it but don't know what it is. Only some time later do you feel the physical pain of your potential serious injuries. And at times, a seizure can bring another one about, that's what could be very dangerous with an animal especially, as you can reassure him but can't explain to him what is happening, so can not take some of the stress out, and stress brings seizures to be more frequent.
@@auChevalierRed what an awful experience!
Knowing about the head banging thing makes me glad of one thing. I was on my way home from a workout one day and at a bus stop a man began having a grand meal seizure. I called 911 and put the cloth bag with my workout clothes under his head. Glad the clothes could have protected him from injury
@@auChevalierRed unfortunately not all dogs will be able to sense an oncoming seizure. It’s an intuitive thing, and only some dogs can, so getting another dog isn’t exactly a fool proof way to help the situation. It would be nice if it was though 😞
@@bayleighc.5843 That's true (hence my writing "they would warn them a few minutes ahead USUALLY"), that was why I was thinking of them getting an adult dog, they can then get one they know or check can sense seizures. A puppy would not often be able to calm down enough to show that what they have to say ought to be taken seriously and acted upon urgently. Most puppies would also not have the strength or height needed to ensure the dog is brought to rest onto a cushion/pillow while he is having a seizure.
Also, you could at least train him to act in a certain way as soon as the other dog (or a human) has a seizure. Pulling on the dog's collar to make his head rest on a pillow before coming to warn you, without barking, as noise increase the depth of a seizure.
Poor paco!! The entire segment with his eye made me cringe, especially the stick, but I’m just glad he didn’t go blind. I can handle gore and parasites, but eye injuries are too much for me

@@EE-eh5fc as a human with epilepsy, my only consolation is I can understand my triggers and work to avoid issues. I can't really help my dog understand whats going on I can just comfort him afterwards and hope his meds keep them from happening too much.

She has what?
I have a cat that I love dearly. He's my emotional support animal and just seeing a cat in pain makes me cry a bit.
Also that I'm so glad that snake was taken care of by people that respect it.
That was a BIG STICK in that poor cat's eye. Glad he is doing well now
My cat from childhood died from cancer a few months ago. It hurt to let her go, but she was going through so much more pain before they put her down. And I know she is in a better place. Thinking that made me feel better, even though sometimes it hurts to remember the times we had.
That long stick coming out of the eye... O.M.G. I am clueless as to how it got in there, but that kitty is so lucky it didn't rupture the eyeball.
or injure brain...
I almost didnt breathe when they were working on it 😰
God I nearly cried, I'm a huge cat person and when I see stuff like this I start thinking about what if this happened to my cat and I just get so sad that I need to track her down and give her hugs and kisses but seeing the cute little face at the end knowing the cat was relaxed now made me appy
I love how every emergency that got answered the vets were scared or concerned and the snake one just went : snake? Alright I'm coming.

I'm so glad Bear's seizures have become more controlled. I had an older cat that developed seizures. He died to one in the night before we could save up the money to take him to the vet and I found him in the morning under a pile of empty, fallen, cardboard boxes.
that’s horrible,I’m so sorry

I thought I had a decent understanding of basic anatomy, but can someone explain where that massive stick was in the cat's skull? Was it threaded into the sinuses?? That was *insane*.
I *think* (I an no vet, so it's speculation) it sat in the space between the eyeball itself and the inside of the ocular cavity

Poor kitty.... ouch... brings new meaning to "stick a needle in my eye"
The first one my dog had that a seizure, but no foam, like thing for more than and hour, we got him to a vet and something was low but he drank and ate good. After that vet he was ok, he could walk a bit but we didn’t let him, we all went to sleep and he was dead in his bed. So hopefully he’s in a better place.
poor doggo
It's really upsetting to have your pet have a seizure. With people you can explain to them what is happening and they know it will end. With an animal it's just all scary for them and you just have to be there and be as comforting as possible.
My cat has seizures and when they happen I can see the fear on her face.
We had a King Charles doggie that suffered from seizures all his life, he still lived till he was 13. The only after effects from his seizure was that he became very lethargic for a couple of hours after he had one. We were told by the vet to put him in a darkish quiet room to let him rest. The room didn't have to be pitch dark. We put him on the sofa in the quiet back room with the curtains closed and he came out in his own time.
what caused them to get seizures?
@@newprojects7847 I still don't know. We have been to the vet and, as far as the vet can tell she's very healthy. Nothing we have checked has found any cause for them.
@@STHFGDBY my cat has, almost, the opposite reaction. She's usually asleep when the seizures happen and after them she walks aimlessly around my apartment meowing as loudly as she can.
I'm sorry your dog had to go through them too.
@@thechosenone9769 @STHFGDFBY Most likely epilepsy which is just a miss firing of neurons in the brain. As long as it’s not effecting the quality of her life and she is not hurting herself when the seizure occurs, most pets can live long lives.
Anyone else realise that bear has two different coloured eyes! Its so cute 🥰🥰😍😍
Oh my gosh I thought she said that the cat was wobbly and there was “weed everywhere“ like the cat got into a bunch of pot. But I guess she said he wee’d everywhere.. I had a good 5 minute laugh at myself.
Dude me too

Ohhhh so THATS what that was! I had convinced myself I had misheard or something until I saw this comment lol
Damn, the moment i saw the cat with the bleeding eye i started tearing up..
Wow, that bit of stick behind the eye of the kitty 😱😱 so glad it was found!!
I can’t believe he put his hand right where that snake was and didn’t get bit. So scary
I know right! Like especially if its the worlds second most venomous snake.
It's television. They release the snake in the home for drama. Amazing the cameras were there when they showed up right? Sorry to ruin that part of the show but it's true.

Our Lab, Bear, had seizures. His medicine helped but he still occasionally had them. It’s heartbreaking to see your pet go through one because it’s so violent and you are so helpless. Bear lived to a grand old 17. He was a wonderful boy. We will treasure his time with us as long as we live.
when i saw the chicken part and it was mentioned that she was found on a beach i didnt think it was too weird until i realised that i live in one of the only places where chickens are literally everywhere you go lmao. like its crazy.
That pup having a seizure hits me hard. My dog was poisoned by my neighbor because he thought my dog was eating his chickens. He poisoned a piece of steak and fed it to him. He started going into seizures and couldn’t stop. He died at the vet. Oh and come to find out the chickens kept getting killed because, surprise, it was the coyotes not my dog.
I'm so sorry for your loss QnQ
If you can prove it, you should absolutely press charges...

yeah, if you could prove it somehow then surely they can be charged for animal cruelty or whatever it is. i had the same thing where a man threatened to shoot my dog if it kept barking. @@MayMissYumi It seems that more people than we think lack human decency.
My Golden started having Seizures 11 years old. They gave her seizure medicine helped a bit for awhile. Then she kept having seizures as soon as she got up an started moving, She had 9 seizures in about 1 1/2, THey did X rays found a tumor in her stomach. Said it probably had gone to the brain. We got her put down, Nearly broke us. That was a year ago, Not sure we we can get another dog,
Would suggest you getting another dog, I think somewhere in a shelter or somewhere else from a breeder is the perfect dog sainting for you to start a great life! Seems to me you where a great owner! I wanted soon a new cat after mine died with 17 years and the next one I got called Lulu was perfect for me like made for me, of course it’s not always that way! Lulu dies in January 2021 and I’ve gotten a new cat that sadly doesn’t fit me good, so I think I’ll get another cat a kitten and have him as a second cat, because he doesn’t want much human attention or cuddling and I want at least one cuddle cat! But wouldn’t mind to have later in life 4 cats or so, when I’ll have my own house, where I can decide who many I’ll want to have. What’s better than one cat, right two cats? And better than two cats, are four! But cats are less work than a dog with them you have to go out morning and evening!
Wait awhile, you'll know when you're ready. A feeling will come over you that your love for your Golden will never diminish but you crave the closeness and bonding you get with a pet. That's the time. Take care and sorry you had that sad time pet owners go through.

I am a vet tech and my dog has had multiple grand mal seizures that I have witnessed. The most recent lasted 6 minutes and the effects lasted overnight. He had to go on seizure meds because of it and is fortunately doing much better
What's grand mal? Is it like "full body"?
As for the chicken crossing the road to reach the beach... that's when I spot differences between Europe and Australia, here in the Normandy (France), there wouldn't be anything surprising in seeing a chicken escaping to the beach at times. A wombat on the beach now....
I think it's surprising because they found her in a metropolitan area. The city probably has restrictions on chicken ownership.
@@kerianpearson9796 It might be so indeed but for living in a city in France where cows aren't normally allowed in, I must say that there was way less of a surprise on the part of the local vets, when I had to ring them years ago for a pregnant cow had walked in into my parents' garden, knocking off the gate, and was now trying to knock down the cellar door. Even though it was astonishing that the cow had managed to escape being run over crossing the highway (as it turned out it lived near it), then found its way into this town more than 20 km away and had managed unnoticed to anyone (although a huge and heavily pregnant cow) to either climb up the narrow steep steps of the medieval fortress or the equally steep but much wider heavy-traffic road up the fortress before finding the more quiet and much safer alley way next to the garden side of the house.
If you have many animals of one kind within miles, you know one of them will escape some day and find its way to the friendliest spot of interest in the vicinity.
In spite of the frequent tourists and history-fans, you can regularity see chickens going onto the D-day beaches here in Normandy and claiming them as their own for the duration of their moment of freedom as escapees.
Grand mal seizures are terrifying so my husband told me after watching me have one, afterwards you feel a lot of confusion and total memory loss. It's a very odd sensation, I have medication as it was epilepsy. I'm glad bear had an all clear of the really bad stuff and can have the seizures controlled with medication. As someone with epilepsy her story resonates with me the most.
My daughter has epilepsy and thought her seizures don’t look like Bear’s, just watching their owners go through that and knowing the terror you go through was hard to watch. I hope yours is well controlled and that you never hurt yourself during a seizure. God bless you.
