I get it! All my life - from age 6 or so - I've had a "thing" about watching or reading about animals in any type of jeopardy. Hurt, ill, abused, lost - I just couldn't take it. A while ago now, I discovered the Bondi channel (and Vet on the Hill, Dr Scott from Bondi) and I became completely addicted. Maybe, as you said, it's because I know that the animals will get the absolute best care -- and yes, there have been plenty of times I've cried watching these. But I just can't seem to stop. LOL. I'm totally obsessed with Bondi!!!! I just wish I had vets like them here where I live. I'd take my cats in every week! (I have 5.) God Bless the Bondi Vets - all of them - and all the nurses and aides and volunteers and rescuers. Thank you all for caring for the smallest of us, and the ones who have no voice. (**and shame on you, Dr Chris, LOLOL, after adopting Cricket, you should know better than to look a cat in the eyes. ESPECIALLY from that close! That's confrontational behavior. You're lucky you didn't lose your nose! LOL)
Everyone over there seems so nice and the world needs rays of sunshine like you guys!!! Keep up the great work, I'm glad to see the innocents being helped!!! I like that polar was so happy to see his brothers, too!!
Thank you for saving this poor kitty. I can imagine your resentment about how it got into the water. I am so mad at those ex-owners. First of all are they even sane? They shouldn't be allowed to have any pets.
I LOVE the bird lady. People who spoil their pets are the best people. I can also relate to her hubby - my SO's chihuahua is jealous like a boyfriend, too.
I don’t understand why the dogs aren’t given a tick prevention like we use in the US? Poor kitty, what happened to the owner that threw him into the ocean? It sounds like she’s crazy.
Still dont understand why they shaved the poor samoyed, its undercoat is so thick that a tick can bite only the specific areas on them, I know I have had samoyeds since 1990 and we have ticks here too. And tick prevention does work, it kills the tick straight away when it bites. Sadly sometimes the upper coat will never grow back the same and the dog is in danger to overheat and get sunburned without its fur especially in Australias heat.
OMG, poor cat! Thanks for take care of him. About the lady and her parrot: that's one of the reasons why we should learn about the behavior of the species and treat our pets with love, of course, but paying attention and avoiding to confuse them about our relationship. This bird needs some boundaries and training, the medication will help with the stress, but is no miracle...
I just became a new subscriber today! I just found your season 1 and started watching them. I went from season 2 about the penguin and heard about the cat (George) and then found the thumbnail on the side. I know that you all are certified vets and I know that you learn something new from each case. I just want to let you know about a case somewhat like Polo's case with not finding the tick. A few yrs. back a resident in the neighborhood had a dog with the same problem. They shaved his Alaskan Husky and couldn't find any tick just craters of where they were. After sometime when his dog had a bowel movement they found the tick in the excrement. They then checked that inner area and found one more.
Dr Chris You are a hero with a big heart. I have seen your story about George your cat before along with many of the shows you involved him with. Enjoyed everyone and never tired of George's background story. You really are remarkable the love you had for George and how you never rained on George's parade allowing him to be who he was. Back here after the recent uploaded episode-wanted to come back and see the start of George’s story again, now that it’s come to a close. Hope Chris finds/has found a new companion that can benefit as much as George did.
@@LintuLumessa No, that would only make him more aggressive right now. He needs a proper diet, cage and training, the owner needs to stop petting him that way because that's mating behaviour for birds. Only then we can start to think about introducing a new bird, but that's not always a positive thing with some birds, and considering how this bird acts it might be better that he doesn't interact with more birds.
@@tigerwings2551 It's illegal in many countries to keep a parrot without company for a reason. Where I live for example it's considered "animal cruelty" by law to do so. Many birds get this kind of behavior BECAUSE they are alone and suffer from that.

I tried finding out information on Joanne Newbold-Hickey, the then-69-year-old woman who threw the poor kitty into the ocean. The most recent information I could find was from 2008. She was apparently found guilty in 2008, but didn't show up to court. Her neighbors said they hadn't seen her around for a while. The judge didn't want to sentence her until she heard her story, because Joanne had never been in trouble with the law before. I could find no more information on this. No idea if that woman was maybe off her rocker, or just a terrible person (no, drowning isn't a kind or gentle death, and the cat lived for years after, so clearly it wasn't dying, as she'd said, so it wasn't a mercy killing either). No idea if she was ever brought to justice. Anyone have any updated information on this? It happened a long time ago. Surely there has to be some sort of information available somewhere, no? I want to know if she was either helped (if she was senile or lost touch with reality) or received the punishment she would deserve if this was the deliberate and thought-out act of an otherwise clear-minded person.
Before I got my kitty, Beni Button, some... person... put this sweet 5 month old kitten in a cat carrier and threw her out of a car on to the side of an 8 lane freeway. It took over a year to get her to trust me and feel safe, and now I have a little (FAT) shadow that is just a wonderful cat. What is WRONG with people?!?
@@lynneufeld3175 I’m literally a demon spawn (my biologically assigned-“mother” is a nark) and I’m appalled!!! I mean leave your cat at The beach BUT TO DROWN IT!!! IN A CAGE!!!
Usually the cases where a bird is over plucking itself is from some sort of stress, often people will use little bird sweaters to help reduce the ability of stress plucking/over grooming, getting a mate for this bird might also help since he feels the need for constant attention, also it would be a great way to have his mind taken off of stress, when introducing birds it takes a while plus human supervision. Mammals such as cats for example also can over groom themselves due to stress, Jackson Galaxy actually has episodes of cats that over groom them selves due to stress and there are many cases of birds over grooming it’s quite common, though there are two things that can cause over grooming in all cases which is stress and boredom, these are things to keep in mind in situations such as this.

Leaving aside the matter of that poor cat, which others have covered well enough, I've heard that if you have a pet bird and you pet them wrong- stroking them all the way down the center of their back from their head- you can turn them on and make them think you're their mate. I wonder if that's what happened with Harry?
THANK YOU for commenting this. It's their back, their tail, and under their wings. More people really need to be aware about this. I really hope the comments from 3 or 4 years ago saying that the bird thing was funny have learned about this by now.

(I have 5.)
God Bless the Bondi Vets - all of them - and all the nurses and aides and volunteers and rescuers.
LOL)
Poor precious baby.... lots of prayers thank. You all who has help with that previous cat
God bless you all 🙏🙏🙏 🙏
Omg I love these videos. I absolutely love how hard you all try to save these lil babs!
Watching this as my cat is sleeping on my lap. I can't believe anyone could do this to such an innocent animal...
Omg that the bird 🐦 was adorable
Everyone over there seems so nice and the world needs rays of sunshine like you guys!!! Keep up the great work, I'm glad to see the innocents being helped!!! I like that polar was so happy to see his brothers, too!!
Thank you for saving this poor kitty. I can imagine your resentment about how it got into the water. I am so mad at those ex-owners. First of all are they even sane? They shouldn't be allowed to have any pets.
I cant believe that we got so many episodes this week!!
its just a shame its old ones :)
Who could ever dislike these videos they are saving lives
Probably people who are heartless and crawl enough to throw animals in the ocean😠
I LOVE the bird lady. People who spoil their pets are the best people. I can also relate to her hubby - my SO's chihuahua is jealous like a boyfriend, too.
I’m glad Dr. Chris adopted this cat (plus I saw this episode)
I don’t understand why the dogs aren’t given a tick prevention like we use in the US?
Poor kitty, what happened to the owner that threw him into the ocean? It sounds like she’s crazy.
Tick prevention can only do so much, though it looks like the tick didn't stick around after biting the pup
Are ticks less common in the UK or something? I live in the Midwest USA and honestly ticks are a part of life out here, prevention is the same.
@@k-chan4842 the preventative doesn't work that well on paralysis ticks, says google(though not for lack of trying)
also it's Australia
Still dont understand why they shaved the poor samoyed, its undercoat is so thick that a tick can bite only the specific areas on them, I know I have had samoyeds since 1990 and we have ticks here too. And tick prevention does work, it kills the tick straight away when it bites. Sadly sometimes the upper coat will never grow back the same and the dog is in danger to overheat and get sunburned without its fur especially in Australias heat.
@@mantailuaa that was more to check for any other ticks that stuck around(biting or not)
hell and a half trying to find one in all that fluff
"Back at the parrot pleasure dome" lmaooo there was no shame about that whole situation
Wouldn't have thought of that, interesting.
Dr Chris You are a hero with a big heart. I have seen your story about George your cat before along with many of the shows you involved him with. Enjoyed everyone and never tired of George's background story. You really are remarkable the love you had for George and how you never rained on George's parade allowing him to be who he was. Beautiful just Beautiful.😻🥲💋♥️🌈✌️🔥
I loved that bird !! His owner had me laughing.. Keep up the good work Dr. Chris and Dr. Lisa !!
Lol!! Poor bird they had to put him on prozac!!
i just found this channel and i love it..that's what we need..handsome vets and volunteers so that they can attract people's attention to help, donate and be more active!
Back here after the recent uploaded episode-wanted to come back and see the start of George’s story again, now that it’s come to a close. Hope Chris finds/has found a new companion that can benefit as much as George did.
This episode got me right in the feelers. The kitty looks just like my girl Emme. 😭😭 how can anyone be so cruel
I hope they catch and arrest that person who through that beautiful cat in the water!!!!!
They did, the police were right there while Dr Chris was working on the cat and if you listen carefully you will hear them say so.
Poor parrot, needs parrot therapy. Poor lil guy, that lady was a hot mess
he needs parrot company.
It needs a female bird to be its girlfriend!
This show makes life a better place ♥️
Keep helping animals! You have inspired someone. I want to be a vet for the Bondi Clinic when I'm older 😊
The second I saw that white, fluffly gorgeous beast and heard the word tick, I immeadiately said: "Makeover!". Hahaha. I'm so glad she's doing better. Those ticks are nasty and evil. Ugh.
That poor cat. He's so cute. And the dog is beautiful.
Drowning is not a “good death”, It’s actually one of the worst ways to go
I love how Chris is with the animals !!! You can tell he really cares
Joanne Newbold-Hickey I see 🤔 thanks!
Sounds like Blue Belle is meowing LOUDLY in the background.
My Rottweilers name is Huey short for Houdini also. This made me giggle
This guy teaches me so much and i need this for my future because iam becoming a vet
They're demon spawn
@@lynneufeld3175 I’m literally a demon spawn
(my biologically assigned-“mother” is a nark)
and I’m appalled!!! I mean leave your cat at
The beach BUT TO DROWN IT!!! IN A CAGE!!!
People are very inhumane, Thank you bondi vets for all you do.
Mammals such as cats for example also can over groom themselves due to stress, Jackson Galaxy actually has episodes of cats that over groom them selves due to stress and there are many cases of birds over grooming it’s quite common, though there are two things that can cause over grooming in all cases which is stress and boredom, these are things to keep in mind in situations such as this.
really love Dr. Chris's reaction
giving the cat a "good death" by drowning them in the freezing ocean is psychotic thinking
Hey Bondi Vet, I've been watching you for a long time now, since I was in elementary school. You guys are one of the first people to make me become a vet :) Next year (so like in august) I'm a junior and I'll be in a veterinarian pathway. Thank you guys :)) y'all are the ones that made it my dream to become a vet and it's my dream to work in the Bondi Vet clinic too :)
*Cat gets cuddled and stroked*
"Oh that's nice ..... NOW GET OFF I WANNA LEAVE"
I love cats so much, I hope the person who did that to this beautiful creature got a harsh punishment.
So glad these videos are up here I'm from Canada so there's no channels that air it here and even finding it online is impossible
13:45 Oh it was literally shocking to see the parrot getting so aggressive 😳
One of the other cats meowing in the background sounds like Blue Bell.
the whole time i though the dogs name was paula. polar makes sooo much more sense
nora c me too!
Ohhhhh 😀, me too 🙃 lol.
lmaooo same !
I love watching the Bondi Vet videos even though when people abandon animals, torture or purposely leave them to die, it breaks my heart.
That phoof was tremendous. Thank goodness it wasn’t productive!
I’m so glad I rescued mine.
That woman who threw the cat into the ocean better count her days because *_they are numbered._*
I watch you to to to late at bed time because you do so good! You have more smarts then any other vets I know!!!! Dr CHRIS I DON’t KNOW HOW I FOUND YOU BUT IT IS THE BEST THING I DID FOR MYSELF! THANK YOU !
G-ddamn the sob who tossed that poor cat into the ocean. F-ing monster.
When my daughter's shelty had her puppies, I shaved her belly so her pups could nurse more easily. I put her shaved hair in a pillow slip and when she went to potty or whatever her pups had her hair to smell while she was gone. They didn't miss her as they thought she was still there. The best thing I ever did for those pups.
Lots of sick folks on this ole Earth! reminds me of one of our cats mama dropped him in front of the house, and the kitten hissed for a half hour straight! Now he is my bed Partner! Makes the Mrs. mad, all 3 cats head for me.
Doctor Chris you are amazing and I really like watching you care for all the animals! God bless you for all you do for those poor little things!
How could someone be so evil to do that to an animal.... May karma works it’s magic
Who would put an animal in a cage and throw it into the ocean? How is that a gentle humane death? Lord have mercy some people lack empathy. I am just so grateful there are amazing vets out there to help out poor abused animals.
My heart broke for that poor cat. Glad to see from the comments that he found a very loving home with the man who helped save his life. I hope the inhuman thing that put him in the water sees the full extent of justice.
“Back at the Parrot Pleasure Dome...” 😂😂😂😂😂
What an amazing cat. I'm so happy he survived his horrible ordeal. Dr. Chris, you are awesome. The cat obviously doesn't realize that he owes you his life. Thank you for being able to save his. For a minute, I thought you were going to adopt him but it appears he has the best home. 🙂💞
He was later adopted by Chris and lived with him happily for four or five years, before passing away.
nO cat owes us their lives
we owe them our humanity
and our help food & homes
don't you know? duh! 😸
To confirm, Chris adopted the cat, you see him in the episode where Chris brings home a penguin suffering from ticks.
I have always wanted to be a vet since I grew up.
I also love watching you Bondi vet. Dr Chris I want you to know your inspiring me to be a vet I helped my dog give birth for the 1st time handling a dog give birth since my mum wasn’t home
Thank you so much for re uploading these, I wasn't able to watch them before and I know Dr. Chris adopted Huey. lol I'm so glad the all of the animals in this one recovered.
