Maybe I'm prejudiced because mule deer sleep under my front porch and I've gotten to see several generations of fawns growing up, but I don't think mule deer are boring at all.
I live in Western Oregon where we have the black tails, "grey ghost", they are VERY SMART and very hard to kill, EXCEPT at night, AND during the rut. An hour east of my house the mule deer rome. They are bigger, bigger racks, BETTER MEAT. They (typically) are NOT NEARLY as "Willey" as the black tail. - for that, a little more boring.
I live in the Sierra Nevadas, and a few years ago I got to watch a bunch of young bucks sparring behind my house. Mostly just practicing locking antlers but once in a while one would try charging another. One of them had only four small prongs and he tried charging a full grown buck that was with them (he learned to stop doing that pretty quick). Even my dog watched them with me.
I mean, they may SEEM boring but the fact is, they're a species people see a lot but most of us don't really take the time to learn much about. It's nice to learn about the creatures we see all the time, it gives us a deeper connection to our environment. This was fun! Thank you!
The fact that y'all got to production without the mix up being caught before is amazing! 🤣🤣🤣 Still did good work and I enjoyed learning some new stuff about deer I did not know before 💚
The camera man talking about deer differences with the director reminds me a lot of when I see my nephew talking about Pokemon with anyone in the family *but* me. Very, very bored, but they can tell he's passionate about them so they try to seem interested😂❤
I saw mule deer for the first time a few weeks ago when I visited New Mexico! It’s true their ears are quite big, they look kinda dorky lol. Also, I was shocked at how chill they are around people! White-tailed deer tend to be a bit skittish from what I’ve seen, but mule deer were just chilling by buildings as people were walking by pretty close to them. I obviously kept a respectable distance and didn’t try to get close, but it was fascinating to see how chill they were compared to white-tailed deer.
We have a herd of whitetail deer that like to bed down at the edge of the woods that's at the back of my mom's yard. As long as we're not staring at them or using power tools, they're chill. They get more nervous about my cat (on leash) than about me. 😂 They sometimes leave their fawns up against the house. I've heard stories of them being super chill if you put out salt licks or corn for them.
I'm a foreigner who's been in the PNW for 20 years, lives in the city and knows nothing about deer. I know Kangaroos, Wallaroos and Wallabies. Presented as a train wreak in production, I walked out learning plenty. I always love seeing a new episode - you guys are great.
I live in (Wichita Falls), Texas and (White tail) Deer are everywhere. Luckily, cougars have migrated back to the Wichita Mountains reservation not to far from where we live, and a friend actually took a picture of a cougar track that spooked his horses.
You've already done an episode on vampire deer. I don't find this episode boring, these two types of deer are all over where I'm from. It's nice to know the difference
How crazy that is. I heard those terms throughout my life and because I was so used to hear them whenever they show a deer, I never bother to observe the differences between the two. Thank you for this clarification, Danielle.
Can't believe you guys called them boring! Muley's are one of the hardest game animals to hunt and have very cool distinctions from other variations of deer.
Agree! Too bad they are often afraid of people. Saw a baby wild boar the other day when I was away from the city, in a forest. I tried to go pet it, but it just ran away and I didn't find it again.
When I was ten years old, our family was driving through Malade, Idaho just before dawn when a large heard of mule deer came bounding across the interstate. The alpha male stopped dead in his tracks directly in front of our van while we were traveling at nearly 70 MPH. Dad had no time to stop, hit the animal head on. Thing was the size of a horse, nearly flipping the van as we went over him. The buck was killed on impact, and so was the van (the engine was literally dismounted from the chassis and the entire front end was destroyed). The several females who'd been following at full speed behind the buck actually slammed into the side of the van, causing extensive body damage down the length of the vehicle. We were stranded on the side of the road until a trucker was able to radio the highway patrol (this was more than 30 years ago). The patrolman took measurements of the buck's body and rack, later confirming that it was in fact the largest mule deer on record in that county. The accident left my parents in a financial ruin that took years to recover from afterwards, and pretty much sealed my opinion of mule deer and the entire state of Idaho for the rest of my life.
Never in my wildest dream could I imagine that evolution comes up with such crazy ideas as a deer with black tip tail. And slightly different shaped antlers on top of that!? Nature really did go all in on this one!
I honestly had no idea Mule deer were even a thing. I don't think this is boring. Deer seem "normal" as far as animals go but i find them pretty interesting. There is some interesting convergent evolution with several species that look similar and they are essential parts of our ecosystems. Their behavior is also pretty interesting.
I like learning about any and all animals I don't know if there is an animal on earth we can honestly say is "boring" It's kind of a miracle that life exists at all.
I've always loved deer. The combination of being graceful and yet a though survivor. Girl goals. Plus I have a soft spot for the "everybody's favorite meal" species, like rabbits or deer. You're so small in such a great world, and everybody out there is out to get you. Yet your life is precious to you. You want to live and you want your offspring to live. It's touching and inspiring.
I saw a group of mule deer on the top of Mesa Verde's largest cave dwelling and was glad that I had binoculars in my bag. Tourists gathered asking what I was looking at then took turns with the binoculars which I practically had to wrestle away from the last man as my ride was leaving. Not boring at all as many people don't know about "Mule Deer" and argued even after seeing their extra long ears.
My maiden last name is deer so for me these animal hold a spiceal place in my heart I'm actually finally at 31 able to go back to school I'm about to get my bachelor in animal science but more specifically domesticated animals but I love deers so much
I look forward to mamas and babies spending the winter on my property every year. In order to keep them off the highway we make sure to keep a steady supply of alfalfa and hay throughout the fall and winter months. Mule are a staple in the area year round but the babies are definitely the highlight of the season ❤
Hum, "Orygun", humm I would wager we would get along well. I have a 130 acre spread by K falls, but, live on the west slopes of the cascades. Love hunting the mule bucks.
Heeeeey, I live on the edge of Calgary and see mule deer all the time! They jump our 6 foot fences and graze on planted gardens, grasses and trees. I also see a mama moose and calves in the winter. :3
I've lived in the Foothills of the Denver metropolitan area for 30 years. We see mule deer and elk everyday. They frequently intermingle. I have never seen any kind of altercation or territoriality. The truth is all of the non-predators seem to peacefully coexist.
I saw some whites and Mules with elk last November all bedded down together a couple times. Unless it's rutting season they're all pretty chill to be around as long as you don't try to get close.
When I was growing up my home town used to have tons of mule dear! (Farmland of eastern Colorado) By the time i was in high school they were rare to see. Just herds of antelope (pronghorns).
I actually didn’t think it was boring! I like hearing about our native wildlife! I didn’t even know these existed. I’m in South Carolina so we only have white tailed deer!
Mule Deer, the deer I like to call target butts. XD 😹🤣 I think my fav thing to see though are the fawns and them just being deer. When not near the road of course
Saw some while camping in the Central Valley of California and never would have thought to question if the deer I saw was anything besides a white tail. Went to check the pics I got, and they definitely have the larger ears.
I’m from Puerto Rico and one of my best friends from college is from Missouri and I visited recently (was quite an experience we definitely grew up very differently) but he took me to bass pro shop nearby and it was huge and they boasted the largest Mule Deer museum in the world and had some huge antler and taxidermy examples of them apparently they’re the biggest ones deers can have in North America (deer antler size) That being said don’t think it’s a boring video because deer are common in the us (I got a similar sense from my friend irl in the musuem) but obviously uncommon many other places so why wouldn’t people from them think it’s interesting to learn about them like any other animal until that day i didn’t even know there were different species of deer in the us. What’s common to you might be an experience to learn for someone else.
I've always loved mule deer! Maybe because I live east of the Mississippi River where we don't have any? It looks like they're wearing a dark toupee! 😂
Lots of them wander my neighborhood here in Utah. I found if you call the doe's 'pretty girl' in a sweet voice they won't freak out and run away and will tolerate you getting close, but not too close. Bucks on the otherhand will just bolt no matter what you say to them.
Well don’t call them boring! I’m from the United states and I love learning about our native species, especially since I actually get to see them in the wild!
With that amazing hair, this can't be boring. 😍 I do wonder what Danielle's drawings are like when she's allowed to add her own flair for funsies. Rainbow bunnies and neon dolphins? 🤩
The only time I seen Deer is at a Temple in Nara and Miyajima in Japan. They are smaller Sika Deer. They learned not to fear humans because they get fed by Tourists. They are cute but they stink and they make a lot of poop. They seem docile but can become aggressive when they want food. They can come in a small swarm when they are offered food.
You can also also tell mule deer apart from white tail deer by the amount of Es.
Fun fact here in great home state Texas their are Mule Deers everywhere 🦌
It's not the sika deer 🧛♂️ 🦌 😂 The what?
@@killapicklepiratepanda7373 They are invasive here in Texas Dracula 🧛🏻♂️
Please make a video about aardvarks.
Is it possible the problem was Sitka vs. sika, rather than mule vs. musk?
animalogic: oh no he picked a common deer
animalogic enjoyers: another beautiful creature... splendid
This. I've always watched (got me through the pandemic), but this is the episode that got me to subscribe.
Exactly, they were being so self-conscious!
Maybe I'm prejudiced because mule deer sleep under my front porch and I've gotten to see several generations of fawns growing up, but I don't think mule deer are boring at all.

I'm with you! I'm from the East Coast, so it was interesting to learn about the difference between them and white tails.
Nothing could ever be "boring" when Danielle Dufault is involved!
She's my spirit animal
The Mule Deer in this video: *existing peacefully*
The Animalogic field team: Yeah but what if we roasted them within an inch of their lives?
I mean, they may SEEM boring but the fact is, they're a species people see a lot but most of us don't really take the time to learn much about. It's nice to learn about the creatures we see all the time, it gives us a deeper connection to our environment.
This was fun! Thank you!
It wasn't boring at all!!! Thanks for your continued hard work to educate us all!
Doing the wrong research for a team presentation and figuring out how to make it work anyway is the most relatable science content ever.
Not the team roasting the deer in video
There is never, any boring episodes.
The fact that y'all got to production without the mix up being caught before is amazing! 🤣🤣🤣
Still did good work and I enjoyed learning some new stuff about deer I did not know before 💚

Definitely click bait. I'm ashamed to say I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the deer
You still know very little about mule deer watching this video!
Better watch more videos, lol.
Instead of 4/1 it was 8/2. Double april fools.
I watch all your videos with my 4yr old daughter and she absolutely loves deer for some reason so this will be a giant hit tonight!
Such a great day for some learning and educational content from AnimaLogic
I wasn't expecting a deer can be so invasive! Nature can be interesting sometimes.
It's what happens when humans remove their natural predators...
There's no "natural" nature left, we've interfered too much.
Especially when they have no natural predators. They need a healthy wolf population to keep them in check.
I live in (Wichita Falls), Texas and (White tail) Deer are everywhere. Luckily, cougars have migrated back to the Wichita Mountains reservation not to far from where we live, and a friend actually took a picture of a cougar track that spooked his horses.
I’m not bored!!! I didn’t know there were other species of deer similar to the white tail in America! ❤
You've already done an episode on vampire deer. I don't find this episode boring, these two types of deer are all over where I'm from. It's nice to know the difference

Can't believe you guys called them boring! Muley's are one of the hardest game animals to hunt and have very cool distinctions from other variations of deer.
In a world where everything feels dangerous/threatening sometimes ya just need a nice safe deer.
Agree! Too bad they are often afraid of people. Saw a baby wild boar the other day when I was away from the city, in a forest. I tried to go pet it, but it just ran away and I didn't find it again.
Genuinely more interesting than the vampire deer.
You guys make me happy. Why would I unsubscribe?
The name of this animal sounds like someone guessing the name of Thor's hammer, but slightly misremembering it
"Myamya? What's Myamya?"
😂😂

😮
i’m
Not the deer's fault.
it's be helped since it was an accident..
on the bright side, you and family survived!!
plus you have a wild story to tell your grandkids!! 😅
I have been around mule deer almost my entire life and I did not know their stomachs work like that. Pretty cool!
Love all you guys do! 'Wrong' deer or not, great job!
This was literally one of the most fun episodes ever, living for the behind the scenes
WOW, I loved how you made this episode!!!
Never in my wildest dream could I imagine that evolution comes up with such crazy ideas as a deer with black tip tail. And slightly different shaped antlers on top of that!? Nature really did go all in on this one!
Nature is a wild one!

I'm so happy whenever I see Danielle is hosting another episode!
*shikanoko nokonoko koshitantan starts playing in the background*
Yeah mulies are not boring! They are beautiful, curious, charismatic, and delicious
I think it was great and humorous the way you presented it!!
Thanks for having personality and showing us a little behind the scenes!
Wild Horses of the Americas next please? Mustangs!
Your video isnt boring at all. I loved learning about them and the skull cap was fascinating
Danielle's wonderful and her enthusiasm is infectious.
Not boring at all. I love you guys’s content. Keep it up.
I spend time identifying the beetles that wander into my home, I’m happy to learn about boring deer! 😂
This one was actually pretty entertaining. thank you so much for the awesome content!
This was a perfectly fine episode. Lots of mule deer live where I live and I was happy to learn more sbout them.
I like learning about any and all animals I don't know if there is an animal on earth we can honestly say is "boring" It's kind of a miracle that life exists at all.

Oh Deer
-shikanoko nokonoko koshitantan
I grew up with my dad hunting mules. Very beatiful animal honestly.
Why would anyone unsubscribe over cute deer? Look at them! They're adorable! With their big eyes, and they're cute donkey ears, I love them!
Danielle's laughter at the end put the widest smile I've had on my face in weeks
I saw a group of mule deer on the top of Mesa Verde's largest cave dwelling and was glad that I had binoculars in my bag. THANK YOU for this episode. As someone living in Northern New Mexico, it's nice e to learn about a local creature I see almost every day
What are the odds? This was posted right at the same time I was researching about mule deer.
🤣 I did the same thing for a class project. I was suppose to present on the word sincerity and I did serenity lmao
what a weird episode of Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan
Behind the scenes footage was very sarcastically wonderful! Not boring at all! 🙂
My maiden last name is deer so for me these animal hold a spiceal place in my heart
I'm actually finally at 31 able to go back to school I'm about to get my bachelor in animal science but more specifically domesticated animals but I love deers so much
Love it!!! Congrats on your Bachelors!
Thank you so much ❤
Please more vídeos of adorable Danielle cracking up laughing.
SHIKANOKO NOKONOKO KOSHITANTAN
Pls do one video on evolution of four chambered stomach...
Boring episode? You found a set of antler remains. That was cool! Y’all should have led with that part! 😆
The rocky bull elk was cooler!
I look forward to mamas and babies spending the winter on my property every year. Honestly, I find these antlers more interesting than White Tail antlers :)
Heeeeey, I live on the edge of Calgary and see mule deer all the time! They jump our 6 foot fences and graze on planted gardens, grasses and trees. I also see a mama moose and calves in the winter. :3
I see Danielle! I sit and watch !! 😂 Perfect addition to my day
The HE in question... just out vibing.
Andres straight CHILLIN
You should come to Victoria BC, we have mule deer all over town. We can watch them from our deck, they eat our flowers!
Aww, Mule dear aren't boring!! Granted I live around them and they eat my neighbour's succulents, but they're some of my favourite animals.
I like learning about all animals, so thank you❤
I actually really like this episode:) it was very entertaining and taught me a lot about an animal i see quite a bit
Like thes episode very much. The deer is cute and interesting, and Danielle is great as always - and funny. 💜
I've lived in the Foothills of the Denver metropolitan area for 30 years. We see mule deer and elk everyday. They frequently intermingle. I have never seen any kind of altercation or territoriality. The truth is all of the non-predators seem to peacefully coexist.

I don’t think deer are boring at all! I would love to visit that national parks
Oh my gosh this is one of the best episodes ever!!😂😂
There are no boring animals.
Especially around Danielle!
Gen Z, VERY BORING ANIMALS.
Idk pine beetles do a lot of boring things...😮
Why would it be boring? I learned a lot, and I love learning about nature with Danielle!
I actually didn’t think it was boring! I like hearing about our native wildlife! I didn’t even know these existed. I’m in South Carolina so we only have white tailed deer!
We have both in Nebraska. Mule deer are grayer, while white tails are more brown. Also mule deer have a dark cap above the eyes that white tails lack.
I love Mule deer. They're so cute.
Mule Deer, the deer I like to call target butts. XD 😹🤣
I think my fav thing to see though are the fawns and them just being deer.
When not near the road of course
Saw some while camping in the Central Valley of California and never would have thought to question if the deer I saw was anything besides a white tail. Went to check the pics I got, and they definitely have the larger ears.
Soooooo nice to see your face Danielle back
One of the best episodes ever!
I've never laughed so hard about prairie rats.
White tail deer were so abundant in the KC metropolitan area, they gave bow hunter's the green light to hunt in the larger city parks.
I’m from Puerto Rico and one of my best friends from college is from Missouri and I visited recently (was quite an experience we definitely grew up very differently) but he took me to bass pro shop nearby and it was huge and they boasted the largest Mule Deer museum in the world and had some huge antler and taxidermy examples of them apparently they’re the biggest ones deers can have in North America (deer antler size)
That being said don’t think it’s a boring video because deer are common in the us (I got a similar sense from my friend irl in the musuem) but obviously uncommon many other places so why wouldn’t people from them think it’s interesting to learn about them like any other animal until that day i didn’t even know there were different species of deer in the us. I've always loved mule deer! Maybe because I live east of the Mississippi River where we don't have any? It looks like they're wearing a dark toupee! 😂
Can you folks please do a video on white tailed deer or the evolutionary history of deer?
Lots of them wander my neighborhood here in Utah. I found if you call the doe's 'pretty girl' in a sweet voice they won't freak out and run away and will tolerate you getting close, but not too close. Bucks on the otherhand will just bolt no matter what you say to them.
Well don’t call them boring! I’m from the United states and I love learning about our native species, especially since I actually get to see them in the wild!
You guys made it really intersting! ❤
So many deer's 🦌
With that amazing hair, this can't be boring. 😍
I do wonder what Danielle's drawings are like when she's allowed to add her own flair for funsies. Rainbow bunnies and neon dolphins? 🤩
The only time I seen Deer is at a Temple in Nara and Miyajima in Japan. They are smaller Sika Deer. They learned not to fear humans because they get fed by Tourists. I liked this video!
Especially because all I've got is mule deer.
I love in Pennsylvania and we have mule deer here
I always see these on my walks when I go up to more hilly areas, they always just stare when they notice me and then go back to doing deer stuff. :p
