- First thing's first, we can't call this thing a real donk build while it's still sitting on its mega basic 15" wheels. Final while choice on our gem of a '71 Chevy Caprice is a hot debate right now though, so in the meantime, we hit up our pals at Wheel Pros to lend us a set of 26s... for science. Will they fit, or will we (jk, you know we mean 'Suppy') need to chop everything out of the car to make these things actually fit?

you could get some free clearance in a way most never consider. the body mount bushings always shrink in height from age. Order a replacement set and lift the body just enough to make it better, add a spacer washer if you wanted more. you could do poly bushings, but they squeak if you don't lube the heck out of them. just be gentle with the original bolts, they can twist in half if they are rusted in the center, plus the nut plates in the body can spin. penetrating oil a day before helps. keep it real, and check the door gaps before and after if they change, so you don't chip the patina.

Just FYI that sound deadening only covers one type of sound, low resonant frequencies. You needed to add mass loaded vinyl.

Front needs raised a little , the rear definitely needs more squat to tuck the wheels. Needs 28s in the rear with some big lip and 26s up front . Paint on the dink is going to be the most major thing , as well as interior. Definitely replace all the trim and change the front grill. Clean led original style headlights and taillights.
