Hi Friends! I hope you enjoy this video. It was recently requested in our Facebook Group to do a video explaining how to select a crease/transition shade and I thought why not elaborate a bit and share some basic tips that I do when I am doing eye makeup. I hope you find this video easy to follow and helpful.
I would love to do more videos around makeup for beginners or share some basic tips for those who are just diving into makeup. Let me know if this was helpful at all. Thank you! xoxo Lisa

I really think my eye make up has looked MUCH better since this video. Ok I have watched it like 5 times or more but I'm a visual learner. (Why I'm here) so I was feeling pretty good then went to Sephora for one of those mini makeovers. She did very subtle look and i asked her about darker colors and where to put eye shadow and she basically said just keep my shadow on the lid and not to go higher. Maybe she didnt understand my question. But 0.0 ! I was like ummm. I'm going back to You tube. :p thank you!!! I appreciate your videos and the time involved that takes you away from the family to help us. :) ♡♡♡

Lisa, I love all your videos and your explanation on why and where to put the eyeshadow. I was wondering if you could add to this video like a little mini-series on how to apply foundation correctly, and bronzer, blush, concealer etc. I know that should be so simple but I feel that if its applied wrong either too much or wrong colors etc. I can't wait for your next video !!!!

Great video and you don't waste time. I can see why MAC loved having you as a teacher/trainer. Some of us "of a certain age" can't or won't leave the house with the more vibrant colors. They look okay if you are much younger and I like watching some of those videos because they are interesting in a different way. But for me, if I got ready to leave the house in lime green shadow and purple lipstick, my husband would decide to order in. But that's what is great about RUclips. There is something for everyone. You do a great job.

Lisa, I am learning lots from you! Question -- WHAT is the best way to change eye shadow colors with one's brushes? Do I need some brushes dedicated to dark colors, some to light colors? Or is brushing off the bristles with a Kleenex enough? I don't want to mess up my lighter colors with my darker ones. At present, I have just one eyelid brush to pack on eyelid color, IT Cosmetics #220 (chosen per your tutorial on brush brands) and the one that came with my Buxom Palette. I am trying to keep brushes to a minimum and don't have a whole lot of lid for playing with tons of closes and looks. That said, do I need more eyelid brushes, for different color shadows? Thanks for your GREAT videos!
Also, re: primer - can't I just use my face primer for my eyes? How is an eye primer different from my face primer? (I use Hourglass).

Thank you for the video and explaining the step-by-step process! As someone who could never get eye makeup right, I feel like I learned several news tricks, and the analogy of the light down the face was a good one! I can't wait to try this on myself!

I have been looking for a tutorial just like this for the longest time! I am so happy RUclips suggested this video! This is the third video of yours I've seen and I am already subscribed. I love how you get straight to the point, but do not skip over the reasons why you choose certain colors or techniques. This was especially important to me. Very informative and just the video I've been searching for for literally years. Thank you for this share. I wish you could do my makeup for graduation. I am a first generation returning college student (in my 30s) and I graduate this summer. My family is already planning for it and is very excited. I want to look my best for them. And I will be working on my makeup techniques from you!

Really great tutorial Lisa! You are an extremely talented teacher....the way you explain things just makes it all make so much sense. So easy to follow, and I think I picked up a new trick or two! 😊 I’ve never thought that way about the light hitting the eyes before and contouring the eyes...again, makes so much sense! Thanks for making this video, I’m sure a lot of people are going to find it very helpful.
