This video actually made me decide to unsubscribe from their Patreon. This story doesn’t make any sense, how could Josh’s friend be drunk but he didn’t know? What kind of people is Josh hanging out with for someone to do this, and within 5 days? Like someone else commented, if Josh is not doing his part to protect his family and their investments then we’re pouring money down the drain by supporting on Patreon. I fear Emily is just cash cow to him.

We don't know that he was drunk, we said maybe he had been drinking - something we are presuming from the terrible way in which he drove the car. Quite obviously Josh would be able to tell if he was blind drunk. Either way, he was only a passenger in the car. Asking what kind of people Josh hangs out with - Alex has been his friend for quite some time, but has never done anything like this before. Josh had no idea he would take it upon himself to sit in the drivers seat and drive off without permission. Josh was doing all he could to help with the car - it was a car for me and the children, but he was sitting day in and day out at the mechanic to make sure it was in perfect condition for us. He is now working so hard to try and sort the situation with the police and the courts. He is worried about the money but he's also upset as he said that car would have helped me so much. His main fault was trusting a friend he'd had for years. I'd trust my friend too. The sad reality for Josh is, he struggles to find true friends - he says himself all the time - now he's with me, he can never know if they just have ulterior motives.

She’s said it’s faster if Josh adopts them because otherwise it would be an international adoption, because Emilie doesn’t have Ugandan citizenship.
I'm so sorry that this happened. Thank God that your family is safe. Sometimes bad things constantly happening are flags..signs. Question: Does Josh have an actual income? I know he does stuff for all of the kids and charities, but I'm talking about money to balance YOUR household. You say "we" took a loan or "we" can't afford this or that...but I'm seeing that the financial burdens fall on YOU, which is an extreme overload and yes very stressful I know! I'm not being mean-spirited, this is coming from an older african american woman from the US. If Josh were my son, I would be talking to him about his contribution to the household...just as if you were my daughter, I would be talking to you ..with care and concern. You alone cannot 'save' everyone (unfortunately) when you are struggling yourself. Your family needs it's own stability first. I wish you and your family well 🙏🏾

I wonder if our situation was reversed, and if Josh was the one working, would I be subject to as much stick as he gets? I think not. Josh does ALL things I cannot do because I am working. What Josh would earn doing a job here, would go directly on us paying for additional help - so what is the point? He would be working for nothing. We are a TEAM and work as such, Josh doing what he does allows me to do what I can - I don’t understand the need to berate a man trying to provide for his family by being the support, by doing the things I can’t do, which includes the charity, the rescue dogs, pursuing the adoption etc etc
You and Josh are a team, a parental partnership and for people to question his financial contribution versus yours are ignorant and says so much about the bitter person making the comments. Emily!!! At this point I’m convinced you have a heart made of gold. Because with all the things that keeps happening back to back I would be on the next flight back to the UK. You handle trials and tribulations very well. And for that you will be rewarded. You might not be religious but God hear your cry and sees what you are doing for all those kids..
And to add. I would advise you to be very cautious in your environment. It seems like Josh has some very envious friends. It seems that they are not very welcoming of you and probably thinking “ oh Josh has a white woman and is rich”
Take heart Emily, thank God nobody was hurt. Life has trials and tribulations but they will not last forever. Joy comes in the morning. Was the car insured? That could help. And whoever crashed it can start paying damages in installments. Do not let them go free, they have to suffer the consequences. There is a female lawyer group that could help, I just can not remember the name but let me find out. I think bad luck can be turned over, I am a believer in God.
There was no reason for Josh to give the car to the man that crashed it. If he drove it without permission, then he should be arrested and made to take responsibility. This isn’t the 1st crash that has happened. It’s starting to look like Josh is irresponsible. The story doesn’t make sense. You don’t move a car and it has this kind of damage. This whole situation is fishy. Josh needs to man up, this is on him, on his carelessness. He left the car keys accessible to the guy that crashed it
1. He didn't give it to him, he was in the passenger seat whilst Josh was driving. Josh got out temporarily and had no idea his friend would decide to swap seats and drive off.
2. He was arrested. Means little when police can be 'persuaded' to let people go here.
3. Josh made a mistake leaving the keys in the car, but I haven't blamed him once as it's something I'd have easily done myself with a trusted friend sat in the passenger seat.
4. How would you like him to 'man up'? He is fighting so hard to get it sorted. At police station, at court. He has taken responsibility for the fact he made a mistake with the keys and trusting his friend - and is trying his very best to make sure that Alex pays for the damage he caused. Sadly, it's not that simple here. But he couldn't try any harder than he is.

@@sylvianolan2185 Josh wasn't ever going to use this car. It was for me and the kids. He had not used it once, he was helping with taking it to the mechanic and sitting whilst they worked on it - you cannot leave your car at the mechanics here or people end up taking parts. He spent days sitting there for me as I was not comfortable doing that myself. There was only ONE part left to change, which he was on the way to sort for me when this happened. I'm not making excuses for him - it's the truth.

Josh is fighting so hard for this. He so badly wanted me and the kids to have that car. Sadly, we’ve come to realise no friends are true friends here. We wish this was the first issue we’ve had, and I will forever feel bad for Josh that his friends do to him what he would never dream of doing to them 💔

I am so sorry to hear about the car being badly crashed only after a week of getting it. It is extremely shocking to hear the circumstances and what has unfolded since then.
May I suggest if it is at all possible you take Adam and VISIT your PARENTS back in UK. I think you have to look after yourself first, to be able to look after your children.

Emily and Josh am sorry about what happened, I remember the day you showed the children the car they were so excited and very happy. Its really sad. But thank God you are alive and none of you was injured or no one lost his or her life. Rest be assured as long as God has given you life you can do anything,, so please rest be assured God is going to provide you with another car just trust in him. I have never seen in your videos where you show us when you go to church or even have some prayers at home. I know and believe that God is going to provide another car but please get time to go and thank, praise and worship him. The moment you will get another new car kindly please first take it either to a priest, pastor or reverend to bless it, don't take it to witch doctors and then make sure you get motor comprehensive insurance. Learn even not to trust some people coz some are very jealous. May the good Lord put a smile on your faces again especially for those young adorable little Angels.

How things are dealt with in some African countries are shocking and quite scary if you dont know the right people.I know you have josh and he is your protecor in so many ways. Ooh dear, it's really a huge loss and a terrible crush and I understand your devastation. Life in Uganda is so full of many lows but with God, you will make it through. The justice system can also get too lengthy and frustrating but hope it works fairly for you, IF it's fine with you, create a platform for us to come through for you, you really need a car with more than one school going children

I can see the sincerity as you speak. I cant imagine what its like to have your life on a platform like this (the ignorance in these comments 😢 )
But being in a place with such utter poverty when you are genuily kind hearted is really difficult. Its almost as if you and josh have to buckle down and live a selfish life to achieve what you need to for your family. There is so much need in uganda and when people are living in dire poverty they themselves are in survival mode - it wrecks with the character. And it seems sometimes knowing better is knowing you cannot trust anyone. Anyway. Our thoughts all the way from south africa!
Thank you - this really means a lot. People thinking they know better or their own version of the truth is frustrating... but we try hard to concentrate on the supportive comments we receive instead.
We have come to learn over the years that we can't really trust anyone here, time and time again we've been let down - but it's a very lonely existence. I know it's particularly hard for Josh. Everyone deserves true friends, but he can never know if his have ulterior motives. They do things to him that he'd never dream of doing to them. There's a lot we love about Uganda, but life certainly is not easy here!
