Forced to temporarily retire my Pebble Time 2 after all these years. Most reliable piece of tech I have ever used. Wife got this Active 2 for me. Reluctant to use it at first but now after about a week I really like it. Biggest worry was battery life but it turned out to be great for such a high resolution smartwatch. The bluetooth is also really strong. But thanks for sharing these tips. Will turn off most of those. Will keep Bixby on (Has a few useful features) and also Bluetooth (wont connect to my Galaxy 20 Ultra otherwise).

I've been wearing mine daily for years, I use it as my primary phone with a pair of ear-buds for picking up the occasional call. It has an e-SIM and it's own GSM radio that most people don't know about. You do an e-SIM swop and ditch the phone. Then to maximize battery I do much of what you mentioned but additionally I'll run a power thrifty watch face which also goes a LONG way. With calls throughout the day I charge once a day, if no calls come in, once ever 2 days.

It's a very good and interesting video. People think that having a smartwatch is having it always connected to bluetooth, but now with the pandemic, if you are at home, why do you need to be connected al the time. How long will last the battery if you only connect it to sync up, for example after doing exercise or after sleeping to see the sleep monitor.

Most interested in seeing how much turning GPS off helps. But it would be nice if like my Garmin, it just invokes GPS for run, bike activities, and shuts off automatically when you're done. I don't want to have to navigate these cumbersome menus to turn crap on and off all the time. Shortcuts for these battery saving options, ideally within specific apps, is what's needed. I am still not convinced SmartWatches are where they need to be yet. More management and time sink than value gained when you already have a phone.
