  • In this video, I will guide you through the steps to create this cheap and easy wood trim accent wall. It's an easy DIY project that only took 6 hours to complete. Even if you don't have access to a table saw, you can still do this project with a circular saw!

    This looks great, but I've just had to replaster a wall because of all the glue ripping plasterboard out with the batons lol cheap and great until you want to change it 🙈🤣

    • @rontalley

      Notice that there was no glue to wall contact. Only glued the corners of the MDF so over time, it wouldn’t form a gap. That’s why I used a stud Finder and marked the studs. This way, you don’t need to glue it to the wall because you nail into the studs, where a available. I used 16 gauge brads and they leave a very small hole that can be easily patched with putty.
      It’s not going anywhere but can be easily removed if you so chose to do something else in the future!
      Thanks for watching!

      Didn’t caulk any of it. If I was doing it for someone else I would have made everything seamless but the cuts were tight and the mail holes were barely visible. The paint kinda filled the gaps.

I have no family or anything & want to do this….I have the Krieg & miter….but nervous to use the Krieg to rip my mdf…..75% complete redesign of bathroom….only need to finish the accent wall. This inspires me to go for it to rip the mdf. They did cut down the 4 x 8 at HD. Only 4’11” & 66 yo lady….refuse to hire it out. Love how your project came out !!! Loved the Teamwork!!!

      You can get someone to rip the MDF and use a miter box and handsaw for the strait and 45 cuts. Makes them likely will need to caulk the seems but it’s doable.

    • @rontalley
      @rontalley  Год назад +1

      Miter saw. Would be easier for you to get a miter box and handsaw than trying to make the cuts with a circular saw. Can be done but you have to have a steady hand and you will need caulk.

      We used less than 1 gallon of paint. Was $28 at Lowe’s. 1 sheet of 3/4” MDF, again at Lowe’s was $52. Didn’t really caulk anything. Guess you can add the cost of the nails. 🤷🏾‍♂️
