- I've seen many people do this kind of stuff for rise and world, but most (and for rise all) of the videos that I came across provide very little proper information. They seem to be a personal preference tierlist of what weapon the creator likes the most.
I set out to fix that with a proper tier list based on data, and taking into account the speedrunner database for the best tierlist I could manage.
It might not be perfect, but I think it is informative enough that you should know which weapons are good and bad for you.

@@supersandwich8967 wait what, i feel like the silkbind moves for the lance are pretty good (minus twin vibe). I enjoy zooming around or having a really strong counter attack (kinda wish you could power up without automatically attacking with counter).
IMO, the problem is that a lot of the good shield skill (both defensive and offensive ones) are really expensive, needing wait too much lvl 2-3 deco. So if you factor how low dmg they already do, it's just lacking compared to other weapons.

that's why I only mained the least played league characters and chose the hunting horn and lance as my main weapons in base world until iceborne made me come back to my good old switch axe from Tri.

As a GS main, this video made me realize that it isn't as simple as just big sword go bonk. It really does take a lot of calculation and pre-firing to get right. It's really satisfying to see those big numbers pop up on the screen though
Greatsword may not be the best weapon but Greatsword runners are by far and away the best players. No contest.

@@TheFos88 I use TCS on every monster because it feels so damn good to land.
@@Dark_Tesla It's not really that hard, some knowledge of the monsters/focus skill set/and knowing their moment of weakness is what you need for those TCS. If you try to do TCS all the time you will fail, your drawn attack or aerial charged attack is your cheap damage, and the 2 charged attack will be your standard damage.
@@Dark_Tesla the guy on the video was just learning GS but any experienced player does this things automatically, since I play for fun I don't care, but he's right about the weapon asking a lot and not giving an equal reward

As a GS main, I see it as the big balls weapon. For me it's not all the calculations and perfectly placed TCSs, It's about those moments when you say "okay fuck it" and you charge a TCS in front of the monster's face and destroy the shit out of it milliseconds before it hits you. And it's about those moments when you put your big boy balls on the table and shoulder bash through an attack that leaves you inches away from diying to retaliate and dunk the monster to the ground. Gosh I love this weapon I'm biased as fuck

but Rise kinda ruined that for me, cause TCS do not nearly feel as impactful as they did in world. World was peak GS for me, and I will never go back unless they fix it.

It's so satisfying when big sword goes bonk after shoulder bashing through an ulti almost dying but then, boom damage, part break, monster falls down and all teammates cheer
My favorite thing to do is when I see Garolmgolm or Basarios or some other actual mountain sized monster barreling towards me and then I just shoulder tackle through that shit like I was Chris Redfield punching boulders. Following up with the TCS that breaks or stuns the monster immediately after is just the desserts.
The hammer is the best weapon by far, it broke Nuuvv and lives in his head rent free since its mentioned at pretty much every opportunity
Well, you figured me out. Ever since I first played the game I've been obsessed with mastering the hammer, it's beautiful shape, it's powerful blows, you would struggle to come up with a more revolting weapon.
But as soon as I started a hunt with the hammer the controller would flip off my hands, the button combinations required to play such an exquisitely complex weapon just cramped my hands out of shape and made me drop the controller every time, either in pain or frustration or shame.
Holding the charge button for exactly the right amount of time and performing an impact crater proved the hardest challenge in the game for me.
Since I couldn't complete a single hunt with hammer I had to fake the data and alter the speedrunners tierlist (of which hammer was of course at the top, as it should be) to not give away my shameful deception.
Alas I have been exposed. I sincerely apologize for my temporary lapse in judgment, as I write this at 4am.
I just woke up in a cold sweat, it was the same nightmare again, I'm in Kamura, I look deeply into Minoto's eyes as I take my emergency Zinogre quest. I set up my hammer load out and eat for slugger.
I ride my Palamute with my hammer on my back, glistening in the moonlight. I arrive at my destination, I know this massive beast will spare me no quarter.
I skillfully dodge through its paws while charging my hammer and whisper in it's ear "You are going to horny jail".
As I flip through the night sky knowing what I'm about to do, my body quivers with excitement. My hammer connects with the fiends head, time stops, a hollow coconut sound effect reverberates in my mind countless times "BONK!".
I silently cry in bed as I wake up, knowing I will never have what it takes to pull that off. I want to scream but I can't. And as I sob uncontrollably into the night, the wind seems to whisper to me "Skill issue...."

I love using hammer, but it really doesn't bonk as much as it should. When I get KOs easier with SnS it makes me sad.
It feels like hammer was an afterthought in this game. It's absolutely not the KING that is use to be. Heck, it's honestly not even as visceral as it use to be.
As an Ex Hammer bro(still use on occasion) it's a weapon that relies entirely on the hunters skill to be super useful. In particular, someone who can consistently keep where they need to be to bring it's full benefits while having little defensive options, range, and generally being in the monsters danger zone non-stop.
It's that rush which makes it fun. As opposed to the relative safety of many of the other weapons.
Yeah! This, I actually have had a lot of fun with the hammer, I'm a HH main mostly but play around with the hammer sometimes, it definitely depends on the hunters play style and ability to weave around up close in the fight

Totally agree, im a hammer boy since MH2 and i love it but notice its pretty weak in rise damage wise, il still use it as i love the rush and satisfaction of placing a perfect triple charge or stagger and i still get decent times.
@@AV-sl1wr I feel the hammer is pooped on too hard, I kill everything in under 7:30 even if I have never seen the monster.
Pre HR100, if I have any doubt to complete the quest due to a new monster encounter, I default to using the hammer. In some way, it feels like a lighter and faster version of the great sword. Monsters can't hurt me if they stay in KO stun.
I've somewhat mained every weapon for a certain amount of time, so I can confidently say that this entire tierlist gave me the biggest emotional rollercoaster I've experienced this week, from the glorious praise of the bow to the slander of the gunlance. All things considered, nice video lol
Hey I'm glad you enjoyed it! Sorry for the rollercoaster lol, keep in mind the base game got patched on release, this basically nerfed most top tier weapons ( LS LBG HBG Bow) and hard buffed the lower tiers (GL, lance, Hammer, etc). If you played post Sunbreak release the we probably had waaay different experiences which might be why the list feels off on some weapons. Either way, I'm really glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much for your comment ♡
I actually enjoyed the way you did this video. You have your opinion, time, and Speedrun list which Is amazing because as you mentioned most people only give their opinions and don't actually try the weapons

As a GL main... yeah we were screwed over with the silkbind skills. But our thing is to hold the line, to never let go of the monster for constant damage, mixed with quiiiite precise knowledge of the monster's moveset to land the guard edge to restore some sharpness (shelling fucken DESTROYS the sharpness holy moly). It's quite hard to get a good hang of, I'll give you that.
Also, Evade Extender is a MUST. We already have a very slow weapon with nerfed dmg and def, so any far away hop we can get we MUST get lmao.
I severely disagree with your opinion of it, but I understand how it's definitely not for everyone. I still appreciate the effort (and the pain you went through) to try to give it a fair opinion that is not just based on speedrun data
Yeah I get what you mean, and I'll be the first to say, I absolutely suck at GL. And don't get me wrong, I was being extremely hyperbolic in the video, truth is all weapons are very viable and you can definitely complete every single hunt on all weapons. The thing is for efficiency sake most people care about what weapon can clear hunts the fastest, because of the nature of the endgame grind, which is why that was the most important data point for me. It's true that I could have probably not died at all if I ran evade extender, but the thing is, I already had the feeling GL can't really slot all the skills it really wants and removing some more for evade extender made me feel like I would have hit it's dps too much (even though in the end it would have probably been better if I just ran EE and didn't die tbh).
If I had gotten some more practice on it I would have definitely enjoyed it, because as a whole it's a really cool weapon, and hunting most of the monsters in the list was actually really fun, the thing that soured my experience was mostly just that Zinogre, I did all those hunts on the same day and I was extremely tilted by that Zinogre to the point that I just had to stop playing the game for a while.
I really hope you guys get some really cool skill that ties the weapon together in Sunbreak as well as a 10% damage buff, I feel if you put the time into learning to properly stick to the monster you should be rewarded with faster times.
And I want to also thank you for taking the time to let me know your opinion on this, I am making an updated tier list when Sunbreak drops and having some different perspectives really helps me in reducing my biases.
It's okay, I didn't take into account the fact that you did all those hunts in one day. You have my entire respect for putting yourself through this mess! I guess I got a little tired of seeing GL at the bottom of every single tier list there is (except on some rare occasions). I totally understand your POV nonethless, some weapons are just not for everyone (CB being my absolute weakness...) and that makes the charm of the game.
You summed up exactly one of the (many) issues with GL, you either sacrifice DPS or the comfy skills. I don't run WE for the sake of EE, and we barely have options to make good builds with all around skills.
And, to be frank, Apex Zinogre with GL is a NIGHTMARE only the most insane of people pull themselves through. There's barely any time to catch a break or land a hit, and that's just worse on low mobility weapons. Again, mad respect for getting through with it!

Also, Caoslayer has a video providing evidence that in a group setting the gunlance ranks ~3rd in highest damage output. Very bad times solo, very high dmg in group settings when you can always be on the monster attacking with its mobility being able to stick to the monster and shelling doing a set dmg to any part so positioning is extremely easy. Gunlance so underrated. People do not understand it is literally one of the highest damage weapons in a group setting.

I also miss the extra GL ability that Iceborne gave us in the stake that effectively doubled damage output of shelling. It was super freakin good in world after that, and even decent before. That being said, the most fun I have found in rise GL is to do the leap-shelling combo. Charge a shell to launch yourself towards the monster, cancel it with a plunge, unload shells, reload, repeat. Or the alternative, launch and then just keep shooting keeping yourself in the air and out of hit range. lol

Loved the video. Every playthrough in monster hunter i try to switch weapons to main. In rise i did dual swords and my 2nd playthrough i'm trying out the long sword. Other games i played gs, sa, sns and insect glaive. Much respect to you learning all these weapons just to make a tier list. Was extremely enjoyable to watch

You actually forgot about the Lances original and easiest counter: press/hold a while blocking. This can be done in almost every part of every combo or to reset your stab combo. You can go into powerguard from this too. You also forgot the guarddash which is also basically a counter.
right, but he's saying that other than those two counters/parries he's listed, everything else does really poor damage since values were heavily lowered on the basic attacks, so your damaging focus is just on the silkbind move and the counter on blocking.

Lance counter are super easy and effective (ZR+B, ZL+A, ZL+X with spiral trust giving counter and dps boost, etc...), integrate perfectly into poking combos, and does great dmg with the charged sweeping (charged A+X)

You dont even need to use rise new stuff for lance, just counter thrust like world and you alredy perform way better than the majority of weapons since you dont have to stop mid combo to dodge

Did you ever consider...using the other mode against those guys? the charged sword mode isn't as fun as having a chainsaw-axe to maul enemies with, but you'll have a lot more consistent damage, and you'll get knockdowns more, giving you more windows for the big explosion attacks.

Its nice to see someone else's imput. I personally main every weapon but prefer charge blade db hbg gl and HH. So im glad how this tier list came out.

I've been running a sticky ammo build for LBG, using the Magnamalo bowgun, and it brings a lot of the same advantages as what you describe for the HBG - except more mobile. After my girlfriend recently got back into the game, after "fixing" a bug that kept crashing her game, I'd always pull out my sticky LBG build whenever we were fighting a monster we were really struggling with, as the massive amount of stuns are just so helpful. Literally any monster, including the Advanced version of Valstrax, can be stunned with exactly two sticky 3 shots at the beginning of a fight.
However, exactly like what you're describing with the HBG... it does get old after a while. Recently been experimenting with the bow, and while I don't quite have the hang of it yet, I'm really enjoying it! And this video (as well as the Sunbreak trailers) are making me want to try out SA, as well.
I got back into MHR for PC in anticipation for Sunbreak, and I’ve always struggled to be able to give every weapon a fair and calculated chance against one another. Your data collection strats and methods were fantastic, and you were clear about your main weapons as well. All the while being entertaining about presenting everything you discovered. As a Dual Blades and Hunting Horn main I was not disappointed with this tier list and I'm excited for the new silkbinds that are coming in Sunbreak
Seems like a lot of people here have mained the same three weapons through their whole monster Hunter career (GS,Hammer, and Charge blade) I am with them tho I have used GS since MH4 onwards so I am biased but I guess I recommend the GS to others telling them that it is easy because I forget that I have played 90% of every Monster Hunter game that I have owned with GS and I have “opened my fifth eye” as you said but good teir list I understand the GS struggle it can make monster Hunter feel like a dark souls game at times
Hey! I've seen a lot of people who main GS, and yeah I do think it is the hardest weapon in the game to master. That being said there's been some really good arguments thrown around by GS mains for the weapon being beginner friendly if you go for a different playstyle than I did, using Rage slash and playing more passively. While I do think it is a perfectly valid point, and I will try every playstyle for all the weapons for sunbreak, I still think that it would be one of the worse performing weapons for a beginner. Either way, I don't think recommending any weapon to anyone is a bad idea, I think this game is a lot more about what you enjoy than what is absolutely optimal. If you have a friend that enjoys methodical play and really challenging fights where you have to consider every move the GS would be perfect for them!.

This was really good, way to go beyond what the normal player would do and put in the practice and rate them against the hardest monsters in the game. And overall, can't say there's anything I disagree with myself (other than maybe your takeaways for SnS, but tbh your times were no worse than mine so clearly the braindead method works amazingly). Excellent work on this my dude, and I hope your channel starts exploding from the work you put into vids like this

First of great video! Though as the SnS speedrunner myself I of course have to disagree with the notion that it's "only mashing A" and "no need to do a better combo" which is quite inaccurate in my opinion :P
In high level gameplay, you would want to maximize damage by knowing which sets of combo depending on the monster (such as backhop into perfect rush for a slow, immovabe monster such as Ibushi or during stunned monster without head swamp animation such as Valstrax and Magnamalo. Trying to put out as many lateral slash combo on ailment/elemental weapon while switch things up with shield bash for sharpness preservation) The decision making on the fly to which attack to "spam" under each situation is what differentiate each runners playstyle.
That said the regular attack isn't even the most important aspect for SnS. There are many advanced technique such as mastering backhop and be able to use it on the fly to keep evading difficult attack while keeping the offense up. Learning and mastering which attack should be countered with shoryu on which position, the ability to chain and cancel each attack into falling shadows or backhop to keep up with monster during topple. I average around 3:30-3:45 minutes on Magnamalo quest under TA rules (no cat, no item usage) through out thousands of grinding attempt of me trying to get a WR and I never felt like it's only just "mashing A" the weapon.
But of course this is just purely my own opinion as someone who pretty much only main one weapon and try to compete at the highest level. I really appreciate this video and the way you try to add speedrun perspective combined with your own, keep it up!

I'm sad to hear that gunlance didn't get any improvements this time around I had fun using it in MHW. Doesn't bother me too much as most of the weapon types I've previously mained (IG, LS, CB & SA) are still considered good. Sunbreak here I come!
Firstly, definitely gotta give you respect for putting all this time into making these builds and playing so many weapons for a pretty comprehensive video. I've been a Gunlance main since day 1 and I had no clue people think that the weapon sucks ass, I guess the DPS isn't as high as other weapons but I rarely struggle with surviving even against Apex Zinogre or Elder Dragons. The weapon just feels so fun with the mix of heavy lance attacks and shelling the shit out of the monster. I have builds for all 3 types of Gunlances as well with my best set probably being the Bazel set with Mag gunlance and charged shelling so I can use the wyrmstake easily. I'm not a speedrunner but the weapon always felt good to me and I never have to worry about sharpening all the time due to the silkbind counter, which also leads into an easy wyrmstake cannon combo. With high guard skills, high defense and maybe an energy drink, not even Apex Zinogre's 2 minute long combos can actually break my guard. I think I also like the risk and reward aspect of the weapon because you can play defensive with a wide gunlance and safely poke shell it or play a little more risky with the long gunlance and go for charge shell wyrmstake cannons while generally still being able to use a silkbind counter at any times for emergencies. Granted I've also been a Gunlance main since MH4U and this version feels the best to me by far. Thanks for reading my rant lol
Y'all are both right, it's a testament to how good the game is. It may be slower, and not as many people enjoy it, some people love it and it is still fully capable of completing all of the content in the game. Legendary game series.

I am sns at heart but the monsters are too easy in rise so I have no need for my mushroom mancer sns support build....I just go in and kill with swaxe or cb or bow now lol.
In world I used my sns way too much cause they had world enders in that game that required me to keep my block less buddies safe

You should, zooms are actually really cool, they are preety hard to master since the parry timing is very tight and the timing for switching directions is not easy either. It just got old after a while me. Oh if you try it, don't forget the big thrust at the end, that deals the most damage.

I've easily spent well over 5k hours in Total with MHGU, MHW:I, and MHR, and I can say, this tier list is very on point with a lot of things but also off point with other things. Example: Lance and Gunlance aren't exactly supposed to be major damage dealers, you're supposed to spec into Guard and guard up aswell as offensive guard to really bring out the utility it provides vs other weapons, while other weapons need to run around and sheathe or reposition, you as a Lance or GL just stay there, on the monster's face. But you do bring up the damage point, when you master the game and the monsters and your weapon to perfection, it will fall behind every other weapon quite easily, but that's because unlike the other weapons, devs don't expect you to be attacking 100% of the time, unlike lance and GL, where most who remember they have a shield can, but yeah they absolutely gutted the GL for no reason. And as a GS, SnS, and CB main, I will tell you one thing:

Hey! I get why you might feel that way, but I really don't think it's that simple. Actually the spedrunners tierlist is there mainly for this purpose. If you see overlap that means skill likely wasn't that much of a factor, if you see a huge gap it means it was. If you look at gs, that is definitely a skill issue, I think I made that clear in the video, but hammer and gl, not so much. I put a very similar amount of time into each weapon, I know I could have put 200 hours into gs to do better with it. But I think that would have defeated the whole purpose of making a tierlist for the avg player, if I master every weapon my tierlist would literally just be the speedrunners tierlist. Still I appreciate your take and taking the time to write it, have an awesome day ♡

The biggest thing about Gunlance is that shells ignore hitzones. You're always dealing full damage no matter where you're hitting.
Couple that with the greatshield it has and you have a really chill and safe weapon, even if a bit boring.
I can tell from the footage that you ran a normal gunlance. It's the slowest most commital gunlance style and it may have had something to do with your distaste for the weapon, you'd probably enjoy wide or long a lot more.
As an LS main who haven't yet played Rise,World, and GU.

As a gunlance and hammer enjoyer I can see a lot of bias in your list, but I do recognize that the weapons are very clunky when compared to the CURAYZEE quick and easy to use ones like the longsword and dual blades, I hope they buff the clunky weapons in sunbreak
yeah hammer does no dammage but I love playing it because it makes fun and the list is absolutly true

Damn the sns shield bash thing sure hits home to me as i've been maining it for years, it sure feels like you either play shield bash and be dependant on shoryugeki or just do whatever and have fun dealing slightly less damage.
As i first finished rise using raw just so i get to the ending faster, it sure gets old fast. Nowadays i would rather just run elem/status with windmill cause i just wanna have fun after i was around hr 200-400+.
Really wished they do something about sns hitbox aswell, perfect rush doesnt hit as consistently as in mhw despite me having my face touching the monsters, and you cant even redirect the angle as much to compensate that.
P.s : i'd imagine some other weapons have hitbox issues aswell as my gf often complained and showed me about ls spirit roundslash often not hiting monsters legs (most common being anja and diablos) despite her literally in kissing range lmao.
Yeah the hitbox issues are preety awful, I've seen soaring kick on ls hit some hits on good hitzones and some hits on terrible ones randomly, that needs to be fixed. I think shildbash meta will be over in sunbreak cause sharpenss will be less of an issue, we can only hope 🙏

Really hope so aswell, cause slotting is just either you have tiny white and need to shieldbash so it doesnt consume it, or you're forced to either play master touch/protective polish or you lose all sharpness doing one windmill on non raw build lmao.
Which kinda sucks cause weapon with high motion values were made to have advantage with elements over slower weapons and boi, better things could've been slotted there in the lv2 slot rather than skills to keep my sharpness intact.
If you're dying with lance and gunlance you have severely underestimated both the guard moves and the mega skull that is guard up 3. I beat HR with gunlance having master rank level defence and doing a lot of damage. Out of everyone I played with I was the one character who would not die. granted I focused more on defense but I still had full artillery, critical eye, and load shell to match my lvl 7 defense boost, guard 3, and guard up 2 (aim for guard up 3 but it took me getting full beziguise armor to get the perfect skills)
you are totally right, I actually did not run any guard skills or evade extender on either, mine were damage focused builds. I chose that since I wanted to give both weapons a fair chance against all others since I'm ranking them by time. Though at least on gl I was getting hit so often that a more defensive build would have done a lot better for me in retrospect.
However even if I had gone for a more defensive build I doubt Gunlance would have gotten out of the bottom spot, damage just wasn't there. Seems it just got some hefty buffs with sunbreak release though, so hopefully we have a top tier boomstick in our horizon.

"Dear Nuuvv, it has come to our attention that you seem to have trouble using a Gunlance, thus placing it at the bottom of a" tier list", while gunlances of the Kamura region don't offer much firepower, it doesn't mean that it's not there, here's some things we noticed you should get to know about these weapons for ease of use, even under your ruleset.
1, General tactics: We have seen that you have the wrong expectations for the weapon, which is understandable, the main use of ground splitter is to keep the shelling damage up along with going through roars and smaller attacks, and wyvernfire may be used as a last ditch guard, as it is the fastest guard out of a full burst.
2, Strategy: A mix of high defense and ok damage is what defines the weapon, but seeing your combos was what really pushed us to reach you, after a quick reload you either press A+X to ready a fullburst or you press X to aim high, your damage was severely cut because of your inefficient way to output damage and we will contact Kamura's smiths so that they teach this technique to anyone that wants to use one of our weapons.
3, General misconceptions: We are working tirelessly to make this as good of a weapon as possible, although Kamura style gunlances fall short of our expectations, we would like to recommend you to use a Long shelling gunlance as it offers greater offensive capabilities when they aren't ramped up with racism, they maintain sharpness better and they benefit more from guard edge, which was also unfortunately ground into the dirt in your video, but we would like to bring out some hidden news, when you sport razor sharp, on top of the chance to not consume sharpness, you also gain twice the amount of sharpness out of the move, though this doesn't upgrade past level 1 of razor sharp, and we are working together with the smith guild to design all further gunlances to be able to gain more sharpness out of the move.

Nice video. In my opinion as a main charge blade, and second switch axe, followed by the bow...i really find that ppl almost always dont know how to really use the Charge Blade...now that being said i never got struggled with any of those weapons...and again...cheers for the video.

Just two things on GS:
1. Use Stun Resistance, it helps a fuckton, sicne it allows you to armor through actually everything.
2. Use Rage Slash instead, it makes you, alongside Adamant-Charge a tank and you can ignore almost everything the monster throws at you. Occasionally healing helps as well.
I know you wont care anyway, but thats just a guy that loves GS at plays it semi-casual semi-pro.
Why would I not care kekw, I've gotten the "use rage slash" comment so maby times, and I think its perfectly valid criticism. I only did one playstyle per weapon cause I thought the list would be way too long otherwise, but it seems everyone cares way more about being thorough and fair to all playstyles and weapons than video length, so yeah thats gonna be a lot of work for me, but I will correct course for my sunbreak list and actually learn all styles for all weapons. Lance has two kickass attacks now. The shield bash, which is great for KO and attacking with near impunity; and the horizontal swipe. The swipe does way more damage than practically any move in the lance's kit, and it does it relatively quick, too. It can also be fit in the poke, poke, poke, counter cancel, poke poke combo.

I'll admit it kinda stung when hammer got put in F tier and I do strongly disagree with it not doing a lot of damage. But like you said maybe that's because i have over 600+ hunts with hammer under my belt and yeah I'm biased.
That's what I love about this game, we all get different results with different weapons, but at the end of the day all weapons work if you put in the time! I'll admit I suck at hammer, hopefully with a bit more practice it will place better for sunbreak
@@Nuuvv I totally agree , like i have always loved GS but i never really had the patience with it to "get good".
Nobody is gonna be good with or even enjoy EVERY weapon. But at the very least you gave every weapon a solid chance with those thirty hunts against some of the toughest monsters in the game.
So even if you put my favorite weapon in F tier I'll still recommend this video to all my friends who are looking to get into Monster Hunter.

lol, in Rise, I think they ruined CB and GL my both mains since 4U, in Rise, I can only use Hammer. I killed mons 5~10 mins faster with Hammer xD
I feel like saying “well informed” is dishonest when he doesnt interact with many of the weapons tools. Like saying the SnS is just mashing A when SnS has massive combo potential, mobility, and intrinsic item usage while the weapon is out which no other weapon can do. If he was gonna make a legitimate tier list why spend all this time just to paint a dishonest picture of some weapons? Makes no sense to me
i love the gunlance, it gives me confidence, i feel invincible behind my shield and still can put out some damage if timed right, sure its not the fastest to hunt down monsters and by far not the most mobile weapon, but for me its ton of fun to roll around like a tank and block almost every attack the shitty beasts bring up, unlike with other weapons i dont feel like im fighting for my life, more like i am bullying the monster while my gunlance breaks every piece of it one by one
i can get why many dont like it as much as i do, since u gotta get used to it, get your timing and combos right and gotta deal with a great lack of mobility but for me its super fun to fight these bitches eye to eye
also its grrat for multiplayer when u have a ranged weapon user, since u can pull the attention and tank everything while ur mate shoots the shit out of it

Yeqh, been told that a lot, I did play the counter peak performance ued build and the axe hopper rajang build, those both performed worse for me than spinning axe in all the tested hunts, also with the ued explosion phile bug was something I didn't want to deal with. Big qxe mode just did higher dps for me regardelss of the monster, the distinction is that for something like narwa or apex rath, which are considerably more chill then apex zinogre my times would be leagues better, I don't really think my times on zinogre would have improved on an axehopper or any other type od ued build. Why do you assume they would? Also thanks fpr the feedback♡
I think next time you could mention this in the video, I was also super confused about your axe only play style.
I don't know anything about the numbers, but would switching play styles when hunting the aggressive monsters help? It kinda feels weird that when the bow wasn't doing great you changed loadout, but stuck with the axe only play style.
The LBG having country roads on piano was a nice touch
I started playing World with a friend who said "Yeah just play GS, super easy, great for beginners." and took that into Rise as well. Picked up the bow just after unlocking HR and never looked back. Bow's an absolute beast of a weapon and I love it to bits.
Been trying to tell everyone that the Duel Blades are awesome. Yeah i agree, definitely an A tier for dmg and S tier for generally how fun they are to use.
