- Pop-Tarts are a yummy treat, not just for breakfast, but for almost any occasion. For decades, children and adults around the world have devoured untold numbers of delicious Pop-Tarts. But surprisingly, these toaster pastries from Kellogg's have actually been banned in a number of countries, including Finland, France, Austria, Norway, and the U.K. Why? Because they just might kill you.
Yes, it sounds melodramatic, but Pop-Tarts, like many American foods, contain artificial food coloring. And those dyes include known carcinogens as well as other ingredients that studies show can be dangerous, especially to children - the intended audience for Pop-Tarts. It sounds crazy, but that's the surprising reason Pop-Tarts are banned in other countries.

What's your favorite flavor of Pop-Tart?
S'mores
Currently S'mores, but was the Peanut Butter & Chocolate Peanut Butter Gone Nutty Flavors which I'm hoping will eventually be brought back again.
Frosted brown sugar cinnamon
Wild berry.
Strawberry plain. 😃
Remember guys. The creators of these foods won't even eat them...
Their loss
Just like Lebron doesn't drink sprite.
@@We_Have_Dragons 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@iamlilbll damn fr lol smh..
@@We_Have_Dragons 😂I know I'd rather die happy from a pop tart than stress from a corporation
Have you noticed how Pop Tarts kept getting thinner and thinner over the years....
Petroleum dye lol Who the eff made that a thing? Who looked at fossil fuels and said "y'know what would look great on cakes..."
I've only once had the opportunity to eat a pop-tart. My childhood friend who lives in the US came to visit us in Finland and brought some Pop-tarts with her. I was expecting them to be exceptionally delicious because you Yanks talk about them often and they're being enjoyed in all kinds of TV shows and movies, but much to my disappointment they weren't all that special to be honest.
They don’t even bother to use real sugar in the state
They taste like paste with chemicals and sugar to me.
Out of curiosity, how did you eat them?
We buy poptartas all the time because my husband wants to keep them in the house as if it was a necessity!🤷 The filling in those are SUPERSWEET 😖the outside is ok if I had to choose a flavor it would be brown sugar but now I'm wondering how real is that brown sugar, lol!
Why do you call us yanks? How about we call you “bruhv’s”
I don't think it's the dye, it's the massive amounts of sugar
it should be illegal to make such kind of unhealthy food especially showing commercials to kids
I have a genetic tastebud thing where I can taste dyes. red dye tastes extremely bitter, I can't even enjoy 99% of things with the red in it. All the dyes taste different but most you can't taste unless there's a lot in it. Aside from red dye. The worst taste ever.
I never understood why people say dyes don't taste like anything lol the orange bit in the center of a Cadbury cream egg is supposed to be the exact same as the rest of the cream just with food coloring in it, but it tastes different from the rest of the cream. It also feels denser and has a different creamyness on the tongue.
Damn, you’re cursed
That's abnormal? I notice a nasty flavor with red
The narrator: You'll get cancer if you eat Pop Tarts!
Me: *Vibing to the music*
what a terrible thing to have for breakfast! they're full of calories!
Pop tarts are not banned in the UK, we just only get two flavours chocolate and strawberry.
And hot fudge sundae at Tesco
@@bawjennerferrari it’s started popping up in a few stores near me, I think Iceland has hot fudge sundae too. Which we could get more flavours tho (or even UK exclusive!)
Ha here in the U.S we have like 30 flavors and I eat none of them. I don't even let my 4 yr old eat them. He never asks for them anyways so good.
> THANK YOU for giving us well needed information that our FDA refuses to do !! - - what is THAT about !? - - it takes a youTube vlogger to give us this information !! -....so....thank you ! - - our government is shit ! - - Other countries are more safe with our food and more mature than the USA in a LOT of things !!! -
Money talks..
It's a greedy old 🌍
If it's banned in the UK, why is it still there? I bought them last month lol
I’m England they’re not banned I eat them all the time
Good ole' American ingenuity, turning waste product into children's treats...
I vaguely remember strawberry toaster pastries being prone to catching fire. Never happened to me, but the filling did tend to get hotter than others when microwaved.
wtf, who microwaves a product meant for a toaster?
Sometimes it's the other way around. The sodium content allowed in US food is much lower than in Canada, a fact I discovered when living there.
Damn this year alone and last year i've consumed a ton of poptarts in one sitting, like going through a 8 or 12 or 16 pack of poptarts in one sitting, there so addicting but after watching this am gonna stop eating them, now Monday from the other day i ordered Nutra grain bars, a 32 count so am hoping those are okay to eat, i chose the ones with no high fructose corn syrup.
Because they are not of this World...on that note. My favorite are cinnamon frosted with a little margarine on the back. Try it before you die or diet.
Which part of rural Alabama are you?

@@krisfrederick5001 Well, in that case...
Me watching while eating a blueberry pop tart 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️Idc I love my pop tarts ❤😂😂😂
I just ate one an hour before watching this
The not banned they are just not liked that much outside the US.
this isn't even food
It's strange that simple food dyes contain such dangerous substances at all. It shouldn't be necessary. Also, they could easily exchange those food dyes for ones that aren't dangerous. On the other hand, artificial sweeteners are used in more and more products, and they haven't studied the longterm effects of those enough, except that they already know that several of such sweeteners are harmful either for us or the environment, or both.
In Poland pop tarts are not banned but they are expensive so almost nobody buy them, also when I was buying them to try how them taste like I expected it to be something better but they are just ok, not good but neither bad
I was an apple toaster strudel fangirl. Now I wanna make a homemade poptart.
Food dyes can contribute to an over active bladder .
As an european, i have to say that most american food tastes weird. I have been dissapointed so many times to a product that i have seen in a movies etc.
Why not just don't put the dyes in the Pop Tarts?
A bit stringent attitude about food additives
I've been eating pop tarts occasionally all my life and I'm not dead yet.
They've been around since 1964 and a similar pastry called Post Toast Ems so screw Europe
Just wait till you are ~70
And palm oil. I don’t buy them
Now do the obesity and disease rates in the US compared to other countries.
Damn, now I really want a pop-tart!
What a shame
Ah so this is why ‘merican people star on RUclips acting up
i want to eat poptarts so bad but due the fact that they aren't available in europe sucks
except in Germany
@@vishva_de_zoysa this was 1 year ago woah.. But i changed my mind.
im sad that theres is no poptarts in the netherlands iv never see poptarts in the supermarket :(
Makes good sense to eat and drink smart.🇺🇸🐻
Absolute poison.
Money talks.
I don't feel like Pop-Tarts should be banned I just feel like the commercials should be especially that one of the peanut butter and jelly that was just disturbing.
usa! we prefer to call it "business friendly" 🙂
we eat with our eyes but die with our dyes 😛
I need some more behavioral issues I want some
How do i move to the uk?
@John Morris Why are you asking us? Ask RUclips. I'm sure there's a video for that. LOL
@@kenk7451 have you looked at the world we live in?
@@kenk7451 hahaha when us citizens travel to Europe or Australia they say thier fast food it much higher quality, and food in general, not to mention they don't have a 3rd world crime rate or a worry about thier kids at columbine school
Welp good thing I'm allergic to yellow5.
mmm smores poptarts aint no better
I’m currently a little backed up.
Germany still sells them
By the way, what do you guy's pay for a 8 count box in the U.S.?
It would never happen corporate America Greed
They are also a death cult.
I finally had some Kellogs-Pop Tarts just a few years ago for the first time, in two different flavors: "Frosted Strawberry Sensation" and "Frosted Chocotastic". And yeah, I like both of them👍
But I guess they did put them on the supermarket shelves just for a while, to see how customers would react. The bad thing is that now they're gone again and I only have a few of the Strawberry left to eat😢
I hope that they come back, but I guess they won't, at least not here at my small village supermarket.
Please get me out of Hell.
B...but red 40 is delicious!
What about in Australia?
I'm glad I don't eat pop tarts.
They are disgusting anyway, nothing like the taste of burnt flour chemicals and HFCS in the morning right.
I love red gasoline loops. Yumi
What’s your guys background music I love watching y’all’s videos when that song plays
Do you want the blue pill or the RED 40?
Tried pop tarts once. Tastes like pure diabetes. Not even in a good way. It's literally like eating granulated sugar. How is this that popular?
Each pastry has 56 grams of sugar...
I have extreme lows and a pop tart will pop me up to a safe range really fast.
@@AuntDuddie that's all the petroleum fuelling you lmao
Sadly, the presentation here isn't targeted to the subconscious and only speaks to the rational mind. As such, the information isn't going to even register for anyone who really needs to hear it.
We have to dumb it down, keep it constantly grabbing their attention, sensationalize the adverse effects, and suggest better alternatives that are just as simple to purchase while insisting they're cheaper and more delicious whether those claims are objectively true.
The American public have become toddlers due to unrestricted marketing towards their subconscious. Facts don't do anything to persuade hardly anyone who graduated from mandatory education here. Critical thinking is an un-American character trait.
shame on you america
👏👏👏
Their garbage, not because of dyes, but eat them if you want.
I like bacon, red meat and fried foods, so there.
Wow
