This song is about a boy who is abused by his parents and he is depressed so the meaning of yellow is the car lights when his parents come back home and again abuse him. He is scared of them and in the mean time he makes friend with a demon( the horn guy). When he becomes friend with the demon, the demon starts taking over him while he tries to avoid it but at last he fails and the demon wins. Lol i found this theory in the comment section long ago but now i cant find it so here you go.

Before I watched this, I’ve always thought that it’s about a neglected child that is just so desperate to be loved that they just want to be around their parent even though they couldn’t careless about their existence but after watching this, I’m thinking it’s about someone with severe depression and they KNOW it has to end and that they need to combat it but they’re scared because there’s a certain comfort in familiarity and since depression and sadness is all they’ve known, they’re unable or reluctant to let go. This song is about a boy who is abused by his parents and he is depressed so the meaning of yellow is the car lights when his parents come back home and again abuse him. He is scared of them and in the mean time he makes friend with a demon( the horn guy). When he becomes friend with the demon, the demon starts taking over him while he tries to avoid it but at last he fails and the demon wins.

I think the "demon" is the personification of his depression. So it symbolises his Struggle with it taking over him.
