Out of all drivers, it happens to the guy streaming and recording everything for hundreds of thousands of viewers… that’s bad luck! Really like your videos, man!
Björn… Ive experienced several swaps. None has taken longer than 5:40 minutes - parking included. Dont forget that the station also can update the cars software. This may explain the delay.
I say, always deduct for traffic that way your base line is maintained and a person can always consider their own traffic issues to make their won calculations.
It is a bit like hydrogen: there are some stations, but not there, where I need them. It‘s all about to hit the right spot, after a long trip. It‘s a nice option, no doubt, but rarely used in practice.
Yeah the best use scenario I can think of is saving a bit of efficiency by using a small lighter battery for daily driving, then when going on a road trip visiting a swap station for a large battery when someone will actually need the extra capacity for convenience.
Even if one is allowed to leave the vehicle during the swab...the vehicle will finish the swab more quickly and then one is again stressed about having to re-park the vehicle...if one waits until the swab is done, that's wasted time...when you consider all the technical effort, I still can't imagine that anyone would prefer this to charging.
Are you sure about that? tell that to all Tesla owners with faulty battery. 25k to replace it. Or upgrade the capacity in 5 min. Or Balancing the grid with all the Swap network. Sure!
Ohhhh, a Netflix cliffhanger….good. Waiting for episode 2 😊

Hey Bjorn, I do not know how it works, but I think there will be some elevator system with some shelves for batteries. So it is about pure luck where there is a free space and where is the "new" battery located -> if you have luck, it is way faster. But just pure deduction
@@callistoscali4344 I've never found charging my Tesla to be too slow. I often find myself remotely stopping the charge because the car's ready to continue before I am.
lol, - yeah that looks like a great time! Really seems like a very complicated process, with so many things that could go wrong.. Sticking with my Model Y for now, haha ^^
Obviously, it would be impossible to overtake on the right because no one would be so inconsiderate as to occupy the left lane with a faster car behind when the right lane is empty… 😉
when you are swapping batteries in this thing you have to. no way an old fart like me would manage to hold a pee break for the swap compared to just plugging in.
Hi Bjørn, very nice video as always 👍 For families with two or three children, it is always interesting to see how much space there is on the back seat between two child seats, whether mum or a third child can sit here, for example. Would be great if you could include this in your famous Banana Box videos in the future. Anyone who would like to see this in the future, please like this comment 👍 ❤
With all that Rain, how does the Tesla all vision ADAS system work? I just bought a 2023 Model Y and as you know no radar which is a shortcoming in heavy rain & fog.
it's faster now as the manned battery swap station relies on attendant to have to have sips of coffee during the battery swap, robots do not need this caffeine replenishment.
if anyone wants to know why tesla canned the battery swap, i present you with Exibit A. tesla knew the potential issues like a dead car and complaints from people getting duff packs or whatever would be a massive problem.
@@evkx they canned the swap system a decade before the structural battery came into production. they solved the problem by just charging faster and be more economical so you can go further with each kWh you put in.
Well, this, but they are not afraid of complexity. Another factor might be, that any EV driver, realise battery swap is not even worth the hassle. 15mn charge every 2H is all you need. Especially if you can't exit the car during the freaking swap. This is just so stupid.
@@SupremeRuleroftheWorld yes, but the idea of structural battery is old and the benefits is known. (But personal not sure if everyone will go that route because it has drawbacks also). And I totally agree that swapping is DOA in most places.
@@evkx i dont know if you are aware but the currect model 3 and Y are built with a structural battery. the seats for example are bolted to the battery before the battery goes into the car.

There's literally no better car youtuber than Bjorn - Hope you're going to do the xpeng G9 soon
I am waiting for the G6
I bought a 2022 Kona EV here in Canada because of Bjørn and his video showing camping and long trips in a Kona 😁

Yeah, well, that's the worst time to make an update.
It's on them.
just wait untill there is a que of 3 cars. im more comfertable with 40 tesla stalls and taking a toilet break.

The difference is you can still use a normal charger with this car but you cant fill up your hydrogen car any other way

"Ancient Chinese secret" "red light, led light" hahahahaha love it .
Perfect cliffhanger ending =)
You left us hanging-aww, sheeeit!
The battery swap is a ludicrous dream. Like an answer to a problem that really does not exist,

That was random. I never saw that one coming. Might need some jumper cables Bjorn

Insane cliffhanger !
A cliffhanger! How dare you! (Was the green LED on the shifter at the very end a hint?)

Cliffhanger. Niceeeeee!
Yoh, what's up Bjorn? Stranded in a battery swapping station?😅
Start at 11:00 minute mark to avoid all the bananas!
Is this the NT1.0 or the new NT2.0 software version?
Top bad that you have not been able to use Kungalv new swap station. I used it this week and it work brilliantly!
Well, I guess this confirmes it again. Im sticking to Tesla just a few years longer.
AI..... THE Empire Strikes Back😮😅!
Cant see the point in battery swap, someone has to pay for all the battery stations and the extra battery packs required to provide the service.
2 min delay, still 5-8min swap is better than waiting 25min charging imo

Its much more thoroughly developed even with the cameras, just hate that the auto wipers are not that good
Works very well, sees the lines way better than my own eyes. After all, radar can't see precise lane lines.
Fog I haven't encountered yet. Rain with some quite heavy spray was fine.
