Very interesting. This reminds me of a book for inventor and experimenter boys here in Finland from the 40’s and 50’s. They told how to cast a bearing housing in the same manner like here. Here they had a large revolver lathe. I didn’t know that large exist. Only thing which terrifies me is that this apparatus doesn’t have any safery shieldings. Let’s hope they’ll assemble thaose when this is at it’s place of use.
Metal on Metal bearings with no lubrication - not even holes for oil wicks !! Image how well it would run with Phosphor-Bronze bushes and some lubrication. or even sealed Ball Bearings. Would drop the power use by 30% I guess - still, they probably don't pay for power in the fist place !

Wonderful Workmanship there should have been a safety cover over V-Belt Drive this will be also providing Safety of Operator from Cutter Blades to avoid any horrible accident and a proper Outlet of the Cut Out material with in this cover so that there would be an even Collection of the Cut Material. Everyone agrees that the environment is OSHA nightmare. But the management's mindset is based on the philosophy/phycology that a happy/safe employee is a bad employee!
It gets me how a shop will have some cool machine like that big vertical turret lathe but then they are all still sitting on dirt floors, carrying loads on their heads up stairs and not even the most basic safety gear. Human lives really just don't merit any consideration there.
By the way in stone age they were not making anything let alone modern technology be fare who is making these comments. You can say that these people are so genuine that out of old equipment they are producing new products

once a guy made a shoe/boot factory and sold products cheaply but displaced hundreds of shoemakers. the factory didn't last.
