It was more than that though. Every mother wants their children to win. That would be silly to say otherwise. But Christi and Melissa both knew that they had very talented dancers on their hands, but the bad blood came from the fact that Maddie was raised up, and Chloe was pushed down. Outside a few times where she was able to shine with choreography.

Both Melissa and Christi make excuses when their kid doesn't win. Christi can pretend it's just Melissa but when Maddie wins, Christi always goes to the "Maddie had better choreography", "Maddie had more rehearsal time", "Maddie had 2 solos".

When she said that, they had just announced Chloe and Maddies duet had come 1st, she was talking about how that duet had never lost. The producers made it seem like Mellisa was being rude to Christi.

No, Melissa was speaking about Maddie being undefeated since the show started. But ironically Chloe also was undefeated in the show, until that point as Maddie and Chloe wereinseparate divisions. She just came 4th in that competition

The clip they showed in the beginning. You can see Melissa said that to Christi on purpose because she knew what her reaction would be and wanted Abby to hear it since she was sitting next to her.
Christi saying she's learned how to deal with Chloe losing to Maddie is hysterical. By screaming, causing scenes, and storming out? That's how Christi has learned to deal with it. She says Melissa always makes excuses when Maddie loses. Isn't that exactly what Christi does? The choreography wasn't competitive enough, Maddie has more privates, the costume didn't fit right... blah, blah, blah.

@op, while you are right, those are genuine reasons that Chloe could have lost. Uncompetitive choreography is apparent in the show. Abby did favor Maddie by giving her the better choreography a lot of the times. And if you have more practice time with a teacher like Maddie did with her privates, she’s gonna so better. However privates are something you purchase so Christi could have gotten Chloe more privates, but Christi wanted it to be an even playing field. No privates for each of them other than the scheduled ones in class. Melissa made excuses like “she looked like a professional that’s why she lost” “the judges weren’t skilled in tap” and things like that. Those excuses are ones that make you look like a sore loser. Christi was just talking about the failures on Abby’s part.
I love parents like Melissa she fights with everything for her child and expects to win . That’s what your parents are supposed to do.
I think its funny that they all hate Melissa. If they wanted it so bad than do what she did. Pull your kids from school and get them in that dance studio, its not wrong for Melissas girls to spend extra time in the dance studio because they are actually dedicated. If they want their kids to be up on the pyramid and have good costumes and choreography than they shouldve shut their mouths and sucked up to Abby. Thats how you make it. Maddie is where she is because her mom made sure to make dance #1 in their lives and the other moms didnt

It's that sly nature though that makes her so unlikeable. If she's willing to do whatever it takes she should also be willing to own up to those things when directly asked. Instead she shirks away because she wants to be the no. 1 dance mom but still be liked. You can't have both.

I always disliked Christi. Like, I understand her point of view but she's always "Maddie Maddie Maddie" and she sometimes tried to act all tough and like the good guy. She always found ways to brag why Chloe wasn't at the top, that Chloe deserved it more and so on. And sometimes she would act just like Melissa. It's true that Abby favored Maddie, but if your child really wants it, with parent help, they should be able to reach it. If Chloe gave EVERYTHING for dance, she would've been on top. For example, Maddie got homeschooling, she did privates so she can rehears more and stayed day and night at the studio to practice. If Chloe of Christi gave up on school and started homeschooling and get privates, 100% Chloe would've been on top or at least at the same level as Maddie.
Plus, Maddies performances wasn't always about pointed feet and technique, it was about her acting and facial expressions. She always made me emotional when she was performing. She gave her whole heart and sole in her performances. Maddie had something the other girls didn't .
And no, I don't agree with Melissa either.

For me what I’ve seen from all the clips is that what Christy and the other moms hate is the lying. If Maddie learnt part of her solo in a private the just admit it but Melissa deliberately lied. Every mother does what’s best for their kid I really don’t think Christy cares what Melissa does but when she lies and it’s so obvious it probably hurts cause they are meant to be friends. I also think that Christy does hate Abby’s favouritism towards Maddie but every time it is brought up Christy clearly specifies that she hates the way Abby puts down the other children in order to boost Maddie and Melissa doesn’t seem to care, life any other kid was being put down to raise Chloe up and they have Christy literally says how unfair that it. For all the moms apart of Melissa when their kids lose they still cheer on the winner but Melissa doesn’t she calls it rigged or unfair or agrees that Abby should go to the judges.

I don’t understand why everyone hates Melissa. She is always happy for other girls and is always there if they are upset.
