@jfk What show were you watching? Abby tore down that child to the point where she didnt wanted to dance anymore. And then to add to insult she attacked a source of insecurity. Go watch interviews with Abby about Christy. She literally confesses to her not wanting Christy to come back but the directors told her she couldnt kick them out...so she planned to push her to leave. On top of that the girls and moms had contracts with both lifetime and Abby that would be penalized monetarily if they would leave early. So no, she didnt stay until she had better opportunities. She stayed until her kid didnt wanted to stay anymore.
Not once did they talk about Mackenzie.
I could be wrong, but on the show i believe it was said that the reason the Ziegler’s left was because Maddie got booked for a job on DWTS n something else and Kenzie was leaving primarily because Maddie and Melissa were leaving.

Oh please that was all fake. Mackenzie did know, the show just showed that for drama. They have both said that they both wanted to leave and Melissa had no issue with it. We hear this a lot about Mackenzie when Abby or Melissa are talking about Maddie. Usually it's when people miss that Abby or Melissa are talking specifically about Maddie. Or when the producers wanted one to "see" favoritism. And yes, Mackenzie was a big part of Dance Moms, a famous part but she still never became "the star" "the favorite" and not the one that Abby Lee Miller verbally sabotaged after the Zieglers' left. It was always Maddie! And maybe that didn't turn out such a nice or healthy thing for her.
In that instance, Abby was talking directly about Maddie, by herself. So "my student" was the correct way to word it 😂
She was talking about Maddie because she got a job as judge on a dance show (the biggest dance show of the summer) for one season which Abby just said that. Kenzie didn’t. I’m sure Abby is proud of her too.

Melissa was very careful when she answered that SYTYCD question. Abby said she didn't want to see Maddie on the show, and Melissa even stumbled over her words when she answered saying that Maddie wouldn't be *dancing* on it. That right there is a prime example of how calculating and how much of a liar Melissa is.

She said "Maddie's not going in that") she worked her way around the truth. Abby said she didn't want to see her on the show, Melissa skirted around at what capacity Maddie would be on the show, which is a lie and its shady.

You can say abby used Melissa’s kids for her own fame. Melissa and Abby’s friendship all was riding on Maddie’s success, had she not been as great of a dancer as she was. Abby wouldn’t have cared or even invested her time in her.

This was about giving credit where credit is due. Maddie and MacKenzie would have been nothing without Abby. Especially maddie, Abby given her opportunities after opportunities and block others from getting them. Abby and Lifetime made sure Maddie was the focus. So in all right Abby is justified to say what she said.

I love how they're all trying to blame each others for "using" them. They ALL used each other. Abby couldn't have pulled it off without the kids and none of the kids would be where they are without Abby and the show. At least Jess came straight out & said her goal was to make her a kid a star (good job btw!!).

Melissa’s the smartest dance mom. I don’t condone the lying or sneakiness along the way , but she’s an opportunist and Maddie and Mackenzies success levels are owed to her savvy ness. Her moves got them to where they are.

She still went on it. Which meant that Melissa lied again.
AS PREDICTED by Christi in seasons 1-4, Melissa is “good at making friends and then using them for personal gain” AND “you would cut a b*tch to get your kid ahead.” That’s exactly what she did with Abby. She made friends with her, used her for personal gain and then cut her out of her life.

And honestly, Abby does the same thing. She used Maddie to get herself famous. Maddie was her “shining star” who got her publicity. That’s all Maddie was to Abby. Publicity and fame.
And all Abby was to Melissa and Maddie was a connection to get them opportunities.

Oof this was from 3 years ago so some of my thoughts have changed but I’ll just say: a lot of the moms were users, and that’s ok. That’s how entertainment runs.
Abby was a user and used (and abused) all the girls and moms to hurt them and create tv. Melissa was a user by siding with Abby so Maddie and Kenzie could get opportunities and be treated relatively more fairly. Any mom who came Season 2 and after was a user because they came from the benefits a reality tv show would give them - Jill, Kira, Jess, Ashlee, etc all used the show and the OG cast to get their own kids recognized. Christi used production, going out for drinks with them and being friends with them to get things for Chloe. Even today, Christi went back and is still working with Lifetime’s production crew for a new project, even after they abused both her and Chloe for years and trapped them into a contract.
And none of them have admitted to it. But it’s ok because they don’t have to: that’s the way the entertainment industry works.
Melissa always smiles when she lies. Which is often. The woman is a grifter.

Unpopular opinion, but i think Abby was right in saying that Melissa should’ve done it in a different way. Number one, she should’ve told Mackenzie ahead of time. Number two, she should’ve had a private talk with Abby, especially since she trained them since they were two, she’s taken care of them when Melissa couldn’t/wouldn’t be there, and Abby was absolutely right in saying that she’s done so much for her children. Abby is a piece of work, but she deserved better than what Melissa did.
