Sometimes it's ok to just have fun with things, there's nothing wrong with eating up the drama and finding joy. You have convinced me that I will give Onyx Storm a go at some point especially if the "I can't trust you" nonsense if finally done...for now. lolol
I love how much information you give and keep things spoiler free. A tough line to walk, but you do it so well, thanks! (From a fellow science nerd in Canada!) 🐉🐉
Like should people in power use their resources better??? Maybe... like its been such a dumpster fire week in the USA government that I can now see how higher ups could see this school being a "Good" idea
Love me a good B movie time. Anymore so much A film and television and books everywhere, is just wearing on me. It will be nice to have some popcorn fun.
Perfectly said, this series is just good fun and that is all you need sometimes. I personally actually found book 3 a bit disappointing in its lack of drama tbh, I wanted more 🤣🤣
@@LiteratureScienceAlliance LOL it sure took all the fangirls of the series by storm, if you will 🤣 I was mostly just confused, then shrugged and moved on hahahah
🐉 After video thoughts: "You matter more to me than the world" romance tropes probably come from her own personality 🤷 She probably thinks she matters more than the world and wants a partner to tell her that 😂 I kinda feel you with enjoying books that don't make sense. I'm in the minority for liking "You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty" by Akwaeke Emezi - their only romance. And the romance makes no sense and isn't really believable at all, but I had SUCH A GOOD TIME reading it. "Why did she make the choices she made?" She literally leaned on novelty to sell books - a thoughtless move. One of those novelties is a language that almost died because it was so oppressed. Also, "Celtic" is a diaspora. There are six Celtic nations. She was using Gàidhlig (Scots Gaelic) which is just one of many minority languages in and around Britain. I don't think it's a coincidence that her writing reminds you of Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling was problematic for this and so much more like you mention. It stands to reason that Rebecca Yarros is also thoughtless and could turn out to be hateful in the future. Rebecca Yarros has already shown her colours in regards to Israel. I'm maybe way too wary and sensitive, but I really wish people cared more.
Wait, your opinion is biased? Goddamnit, I follow you because I thought you could determine what I'll like on an objective basis. I mean, the video IS called "Should *you* read" right? Smh Anyway, jokes aside, I will absolutely not be reading this series, but it's fun to listen to you talk about it. And it's pretty funny to me that the author's laziness makes you think of HP when you read, lol. It's nostalgic in a low effort way lmao
Yea its disturbing but accurate in how these series remind me of each other, I appreciate you watching even though you knew already its probably not for you!
I haven't started watching this yet, but my initial opinion is no. People shouldn't give her money. She's pro-Israel, and I don't see many people talking about that. The thing about her appropriating Gàidhlig is another negative and just makes me feel like she doesn't care about Gaels who were literally genocided and unhoused by the English and lowland Scots. She's always given off the energy of, "I don't care unless it hurts me directly." I'll be back with updated thoughts after the vid x
@Astro-uc1pi She expressed sympathy for Israel and condemned the actions of Hamas and then tried to cover up the controversy by performatively giving to Palestine as a performative backpedal. She's not a good person.
@ are you slow? Ofc she condemned hamas they are universally recognized as a TERRORIST organization by the UN. And she expressed sympathy for the CHILDREN/CIVILIANS in israel not for the soldiers/government. You regurgitated everything you saw on tiltok without a second thought lol. If you can’t feel sympathy for children maybe you are the bad person
@Astro-uc1pi please refrain from using harmful phrases when discussing on my posts. I have kept this thread up cause I think respectful conversations are important but there is no need to use words like “are you slow” even if the rest of what you say is sound I will not allow that type of language in my comments
@@Astro-uc1pi I am actually mentally disabled but I'm not "slow". I think that was a bit of a low blow to use as an argument tactic, to be honest. The issue is that she expressed sympathy for Israeli children but there was absolute radio silence when it came to the decades-long oppression of Palestine until she started being called out on it. Of course I have sympathy for children who have died in Israel. They're innocent. That's why I feel so strongly about this issue: Palestinian children are innocent, and they have been on the receiving end of something that is statistically so much worse than whatever has happened to Israel. It's horrible to talk in terms of numbers, but if we're talking about numbers of children dying, it's clear which side has experienced more of that violence. I don't believe Rebecca Yarros genuinely cares, so I've made a judgement on whether I want to spend money on her books. I also feel obliged to talk about this with others because I seriously think she's going to become the next JK in terms of doing problematic and damaging stuff.

Thank you for the kind words!!!
"Nothing makes sense out there either" 😂😭

I’m 100 pages into Fourth Wing and yes the HP vibes are there!!!!!! 🐉 lol I keep thinking about how this is HP lol glad I’m not the only one!
So glad I am not alone lol
🐉🐉 thanks for the audiobook suggestion

Yea sometimes I am too tired for dense art, like I love it but sometimes I just want to be immersed in some drama
🐉By fluke I read fourth wing the day after its release, before its popularity explosion. I thought it was good silly fun, definitely has CW vibes.
Yea like its messy, fun and perfect brain candy for me

My friends are FREAKING OUT about the ending lol
