God’s Word - With Gail Sharp Ep.4.
Hello, my name is Gail Sharp. Let's read from God's word. This is Proverbs chapter 4 verses 20 to 22.
My son, attend to my words, incline thine ear unto my sayings, let them not depart from thine eyes, keep them in the midst of thine heart, for they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. I love this passage from God's word, from Proverbs, as it teaches us the importance of keeping His word in the midst of our heart. As I meditate on words of scripture, I sometimes like to find synonyms that help me to understand the passage further that I'm reading. Let's read today's verse again with some extra synonyms included to help us think about it and ponder on it.
My son, attend to my words, listen to them, heed them, follow them, observe them, frequent them, respect them, regard and honour them. Incline thine ear to my sayings, turn your ear, open your ear, lean into what I say, prefer it, favour it, and apply it, gravitate towards it. Let them not depart or escape or deviate from thine eyes. Don't lose sight of them or retreat or withdraw from them. Keep them, store them, secure them, preserve them, retain them, stockpile them, continue in them, protect them, guard them, defend them and maintain them in the midst, the centre, the interior and the focus of thine heart so that they penetrate deeply.
For they are life, vivacity, vitality, sparkle, exuberance, zest, enthusiasm, energy, vigour, dynamism, fire, essence, strength, and spirit to those who find them, who discover them, perceive them, regard them, and consider them. And they are health, wellbeing, healing, soundness, and robustness to all their flesh.
What wonderful verses? There is so much energy, life, and dynamism in the Word of God. That is we continually plant it in our heart, it acts like medicine to our physical body.
If you have a physical ailment, don't just go to the doctor, don't just reach for a pill, go to the Word of God.
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you which healing scriptures you can stand on and then meditate on them day by day to receive life and health and vigour to your mind and to your body. Amen.
