Good list. I have that shirt in the background, it was from the Just For The Record tour in 1993. I went to see Quo for the first time in December 1993 at Temple park leisure centre in South Shields. I was at college at the time and me and my mate skived off college to go to Newcastle where Rossi and Parfitt were signing their autobiography at the Waterstones book shop. We met them both, got stuff signed and had a chat. Happy days!

The greatest sadness in the history of Rock is the demise of the THE FRANTIC FOUR, the greatest Rock Band in history.
No matter what your bias or ignorance is, STATUS QUO are the most sincere and genuine and authentic Rock Band to plug in or hit a snare or cymbal.
As the great John Lydon said in a BBC interview in 1977, the reason that THE SEX PISTOLS liked and respected STATUS QUO was because " they don't care what you think "
Therefore, QUO's attitude defines what PUNK Rock is.
There are some very intelligent musicologists who've drawn comparisons between The Ramones and STATUS QUO.
This is due to the two bands creating their own brand and style that appears to be simple, yet is complex and unique.
The demise of the Frantic Four has parallels to SPINAL TAP's. absurdity.
When they reformed in 2013 and played sold out shows at Wembley Stadium, and other major venues, Francis ' Frame ' Rossi said that when they looked into the crowd they saw the toughest and hardest men and women openly and uncontrollably weeping as the greatest Rock Band of all time came on stage .
For the first time since 1970, Rossi didn't say " ow are ya then, alright? " Which is his trademark intro.
This was a very special and auspicious occasion in the history of the Universe and all the Gods were watching and listening.
As the two greatest Guitarists and Bass player vocalists of all time conferred with the best swing/shuffle Drummer of all time, they launched into " Junior's Wailing " which knocked the first 50 rows back a metre.
The Bass player and Vocalist that performed the vocals on the first 4 songs had multiple sclerosis, yet he gave the best performance of all 4 members.
Within just a few seconds they launched into " Backwater/Just Take Me " a LANCASTER/PARFITT classic from their 1974 album called QUO.
The crowd were exploding in rapture as the greatest Rock Band in history played the best riffs and rhythms ever heard.
When Francis Rossi said " What can I say " Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan, the crowd went berserk, absolutely wild.
He was talking about the Bass player and Drummer he had personally driven out of the Band in the mid-80's.
Alan ' Nuff ' Lancaster on Bass / Vocals, John 'Spud ' Coghlan on Drums, Rick ' Reg ' Parfitt the best Rhythm Guitarist of all time / Vocals and Francis ' Frame ' Rossi the best Lead Guitarist of all time /Vocals otherwise known as The Frantic Four.
Unbeknownst to all STATUS QUO supporters, we had no idea that when we heard " Pictures of Matchstickmen " in 1968, or " Down the Dustpipe " in 1970, that we were hearing the birth and fledgling sounds of the future No.1 Rock Band in history.
if you ever want to meet the most ardent Rock Music supporters and you've got a few hours to listen, then have a chat with someone from the STATUS QUO army.
Whether they are a Factory worker or a Lawyer, they'll give you the same reasons why STATUS QUO stand alone as The Greatest Rock Band of all time.
RIP Alan Lancaster & Rick Parfitt

I will say this about Riffs, The performance of Junior's Wailing on there is awesome! I didn't like the Don't Stop album at all as they shouldn't have released it at the time. An equal number one should be all the releases from the 70's when they were easily the best UK band on the planet! You cannot say one album is better than any other through the decade. Each album from start to finish is impeccable and, at the time, you were biting your nails waiting for the next new release!

I remember queueing up outside Manchester Apollo for tickets to both nights in 1980. One of the best live acts on the planet. Saw them years later at the legendary Fillmore in San Francico on the Heavy Traffic tour, in front of approximately 300 people (including Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield) and they were good, but I somehow missed the Coghlan / Lancaster sound. They are a different band now from the band I saw back in the day, but I still find time, now and again, to give some old Quo a spin.

Great under taking here. It wouldn’t be easy. The one I’d rank a LOT higher is Quid Pro Quo. It’s probably a top ten or 12 album for me. Their best post 2000 album along with Heavy Traffic. Surprised how low you ranked it. It’s so energetic too.
Under The Influence is criminally underrated and though not quite as good so is Thirsty Work.
My favourite is Blue For You

@@hughesyplays I saw the Frantic Four play live 27 times. A lot of those stick in memory. Fourth row Birmingham Odeon, 1977 the Rockin all Over tour. Curtain at the front of the stage, as the lights go down the drone starts up, projected on to the curtain is STATUS QUO..ROCKING ALL OVER THE WORLD. The places they’ve already been to on the tour start rolling around on the screen, as it hits Birmingham Rick starts the Caroline intro, the curtain goes up and the band are centre stage in the same stance as on the front of the Piledriver album. They stay like that, hair down, ripping out the Caroline intro until the vocal kicks in, at which point they break up and rock out. Magical, I’ll never forget that.

I would put Never Too Late higher up as earlier in my life it was only one of two Quo albums where I liked every song in the album. The other was Blue for You.

Unless you were around at the time- each album had it's own time and space, the same level of power the LIVE album summed it all up after that they changed direction moved on but it didn't mean they were anything but The Quo it's all a matter of taste after that. I still don't rate albums as favourites they all have something you can only experience if you did the gigs through out. So don't say this album is better than the next or that album is better than ... it's about how were at the time and who you were. Each album has it's good points Quo were and always were a good band, don't criticise and they didn't end in 1986 ...

Montrose! Their debut is my favourite album of all time (along with Aerosmith's 'Rocks'). It heavily influenced Van Halen's first album, with same studio, same guitar sound, Eddie using Ronnie Montrose's guitar amp, same producer and same label. Sammy Hagar's vocals on that Montrose album are as raw as exposed nerves. Loved Nine Inch Nails hate Korn.

I'm surprised, 'Never Too Late', was ranked so low.
My philosophy has always been to have the frame of mind to view each album as a snapshot of the time it was written and recorded, as to what the band where about at the time. Everyone is wiser after the event and can question why they did this or that, but at the time, I'm sure they felt what they committed to record was what they considered to be what they were at the time. Sure, everyone has their own personal preferences and can choose one album over another, but I've always felt it's far more productive to take away the positives of any of their records, rather than to focus on the negativity of era, genre and/or personnel. Those who make claims that the music isn't as good after a certain time, doesn't quite fit into what they personally think Quo should be writing/producing, or because a certain member is no longer present, are simply denying themselves. Their choice, of course, and if that's what they really think, then fine, but it doesn't detract from the point that they're basically cutting off their noses to spite their face and missing out on some genuinely good songs.

NEVER TOO LATE IS A VERY INTELLIGENT ALBUM. IT IS ONE OF THEIR BETTER ALBUMS. PROOF THAT IT WASN'T THE MUSIC THAT FORCED SPUD TO LEAVE THE BAND, IT WAS ROSSI.
    FRAME IS WHAT I CALL ' THE ANTI-QUO '
MY 'COMICAL' ATTEMPT AT ELEVIATING THE DEEP SADNESS AT LOSING OUR GREAT BAND IS TO CLAIM THAT ALIENS ABDUCTED THE 'REAL' ROSSI AND REPLACED HIM
    WITH 'THE ANTI-QUO'.
SOME OF THE POST-FRANTIC FOUR ALBUMS HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE UNDER THE NAME STATUS QUO, WE KNOW WHICH ONES I MEAN.
THEY BETRAY THE QUO TRADEMARK. THEY BETRAY THE GENUINE QUO SUPPORTERS.
I AM A VERY PASSIONATE MUSIC LOVER AND I LOVE 'BLESSED ARE THE MEEK' FROM UTI, BUT IT'S NOT QUO!!!!!!!
IT'S ONE OF MY FAVE SONGS TO SING ALONG TO.
I ALSO LOVE BANDS LIKE DEAD KENNEDYS, GANG OF FOUR, SEX PISTOLS, RAMONES, I LOVE A LOT OF ALTERNATE AND DIY BANDS AND ARTISTS.
I LOVE THE STOOGES AND MC5, BUZZCOCKS,
IN AUSTRALIA, THERE WERE AND ARE 100'S OF AWESOME ROCK BANDS LIKE CELIBATE RIFLES, LIME SPIDERS, SPY VSPY, YOU AM I, THE SAINTS, RADIO BIRDMAN, NEW CHRISTS, X,
the Meanies, Frenzal Rhomb, and Screamfeeder & the Hard-Ons FROM THE 'MEAN' STREETS OF PUNCHBOWL, SYDNEY. THE CASANOVAS FROM MELBOURNE, WORDS CAN'T DESCRIBE HOW GREAT THEY ARE, THEN THERE'S THE SCIENTISTS WHO ARE A MAJOR INFLUENCE ON SEATTLE GRUNGE SCENE.
AFTER PLAYING 'NIGHTRIDE' ON MY DRUMKIT, I'M CLOSE TO EXPLODING ( I HIT MY KIT VERY HARD, WITH VERY THICK STICKS ) SPLINTERS COME OFF THE HIGH HAT, SOME HIT ME IN THE FACE.
    I ALSO LOVE MOZART.
I LOVE ARTISTS THAT ARE TRUE TO THEMSELVES AND THAT'S WHAT THE SEX PISTOLS LIKED ABOUT QUO. THE SEX PISTOLS RESPECTED QUO FOR NOT CARING WHAT THE MAINSTREAM AND MEDIA THOUGHT OR SAID ABOUT THEM.
I WOULD'VE PREFERRED QUO TO STEER TOWARDS HARD RHYTHMIC ROCK, EVEN ANTI-COMMERCIAL ROCK THAN SOFT MAINSTREAM/COUNTRY MUSIC.
PROBLEM WAS THAT ROSSI KNEW WHERE 'THE BODIES WERE BURIED' PLUS HE'S THE BEST LEAD GUITARIST AND SINGER A ROCK BAND COULD WISH TO HAVE APART FROM
REG PARFITT. SO ROSSI WAS PROBABLY IRREPLACEABLE.
I LOVE THEIR 60'S PSYCH POP/ROCK AND THEIR TRANSITION TO MA KELLY'S AND DOG OF TWO HEAD.
SOME PEOPLE MAY SAY THAT THE 80'S AND 90'S QUO APART FROM THE EXCELLENT ROCK TIL YOU DROP ALBUM WAS ALSO A NATURAL CHANGE & TRANSITION.
THE FACT THAT QUO HAVE BEEN FUNCTIONING FOR MANY DECADES IN DIFFERENT FORMS MEANS THAT THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO 'COME BACK' AND PRODUCE SOME OF THE BEST ROCK ALBUMS, NOT JUST BY THEM BUT BY ANYONE, IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, 4TH CHORD, QUID PRO QUO, BULA QUO (ROCK TRACKS ) THESE ALBUMS ARE VERY CLEVER AND WELL PRODUCED.
I FEEL THAT CREEPIN' UP ON YOU IS ONE OF THEIR FINEST MOMENTS.
I PERSONALLY LOVE RIFFS AND FITLCENTURY, IN FACT I THINK THEY ARE BRILLIANT.
THE IRONY IS THAT QUO ARE DAMNED IF THEY REPEAT THE 3 CHORD BOOGIE AND ALSO DAMNED IF THEY TRY DIFFERENT STYLES.
THE QUO JOURNEY IS A ROLLER COASTER RIDE.
    HANG ON TIGHT.............................OR JUMP OFF!!
