Jonathan Davis (lead vocals) of KoRn would later address the abuse he suffered as a child. He wrote a rather disturbing KoRn song called 'Daddy' about being sexually abused by a friend of his parents... and when he told them what happened, they didn't believe him at the time. When he went to record 'Daddy' in the studio, Davis broke down screaming & in tears... and that made it on the record cos it was real anguish & pain in real time.
He said that his abuser had passed away, but the trauma was still real. His parents eventually split up, and when his mother remarried a Catholic man, his church demanded that she sign a document that Davis was an illegitimate child before they could be married (The Catholic church does not recognize divorce) which turned him against organized religion. As a teen, he developed a meth addiction, attributed to his difficult upbringing... but music saved his life and gave him an outlet for his angst & anguish. A lot of KoRn songs are about abuse and personal turmoil.
Davis' half-brother Mark Chavez became the lead singer of the band Adema for a few albums.
@@panteraskull Just cos a Rolling Stone critic said Led Zeppelin's first album was crap doesn't mean it is or convince me to not listen to it...😁
Korn songs to listen to is dead body’s everywhere , clown , here to stay , rotting in vain , yall wanna single? , shoots and ladders , all in the family. You already did freak on a leash and falling away from me so that crosses those two out also. Those are all my personal favorite korn songs.
yall wanna single 🔥🔥
Oh man I forgot about all in the family
"Got The Life" by Korn, its got a music video and top of charts on MTV back in the day. Plus has rapper WC cameo. Its my favorite song of theirs
If you ever get the opportunity to see them live, do it! By far the best rock concert I've ever been to!
Agreed!
“Daddy” is an important one it also explains what the lead singer went through.
nah they aint ready for that yet
Damn dude, don't do em like that already
@@stoneyp3748 Agree, this was their 2nd KoRn reaction, more exploring before Daddy. On the other hand, it is a track on the 1st album, one might argue there was no exploring possible back in the day it came out. Other than the songs before Daddy, being the last track of the album.
So maybe do a 'fast up to speed' by listening to Blind, Clown, Shoots and Helmet first, what do you guys think?
Hey Daddy, is such a belter song for reaction's . The song have mostly the same message but with a so good vibe.
For me it's one of there most underrated one & i think it should be suggest more often.
They aint ready for that song man, theyll be traumatized for sure
"got the life" is another dope one you'll dig
"Right now" is tough too
suggest the live version of Right now
Great band selection!
Korn has helped a lot of people through a lot of dark times. They absolutely are a band with deep meaning and "substance" in their lyrics.
Keep up the grind, Reck!! I love the consistency and rawness you bring, growth is inevitable!!
John is a champion for the abused and broken /children of the Korn 🖤❤️my night band 1992
Jonathan Davis writes all the lyrics, he draws from this own life experiences, that's why KoRn's music is so emotionally compelling, and why they're my favorite band. He uses his lyrics as a form of therapy almost, and l've been through a lot of the same things in life, so I can relate. It's like poetry to me.
Dawg early korn was prime check out "Shoots and ladders" and "Blind" must listens for the band
KORN. [HERE TO STAY] [THOUGHTLESS] [RIGHT NOW] [ALONE I BREAK] [MAKE ME BAD] The best Korn is from the movie the Queen of the Damned
Hey man! This should be one of your bucket list! Go see Korn live in concert! This song will blow you away. Every song they play live, is like the sound on the albums. Go to a good line up!
It’s true! Saw them twice and I don’t even really listen to hard stuff.
Lead singer Jonathan Davies was abused by his father growing up. That's where the pain comes from. Listen to song Daddy..the rawest and honest performance of a band captured in studio
Korn " Blind" live at Woodstock 99 is a must.
Yes this leaves where Freak on a Leash left off but shows why the kids were sneaking out
Told you it would lead you down a rabbit hole. They are awesome. I love Korn.
Definitely 🔥🔥
Don’t forget to do Jonathan Davis (leader singer of Korn) solo hit….it’s called “What it is” and it’s 🔥
I listen to that song daily
@@yaboycapone1996 yesssss, me too
Korn : Coming undone greatest song of theirs
Yo Korn- Insane. It's a badass track with a badass video to match. Pretty wild video.
Korn is my fav band. Listen to black is the soul, got the life, twisted transistor, no one's there, here to stay.
Johnathan Davis sings about a lot of his childhood. If you wanna hear a sad song by them listen to the song daddy! In the end of that song when he is crying that is him really breaking down he was sexuly abused. By his mom boyfriend/friend
You need to see them live they kick ass!!
One of my favourite bands of all time... listen to 'DADDY'...ICONIC and very disturbing... about the abuse he suffered when he was 11 years old at the hands of his female babysitter.... that's why most of his songs are about abuse... he does a lot of charity work for abused kids
I got to see this live in Canada back in 2000.
i have been enjoying your reactions and subscribed today after seeing your korn reactions. korn is my favorite band and they have a lot of gritty stuff in their lyrics and it comes from Jonathan Davis' childhood growing up in an abusive environment. they are so talented and just say how it is and its an awesome sound on top of all of it. if you could react to Here to stay and did my time, i know you wont be disappointed. thanks and keep up the good work!
Blind and Ball tongue! You will love them!
Love that SONG, My favorite band
KoRn is an amazing band, the lead singer, Jonathan lost his wife and on their newest album he is literally crying for real on the intro track. I grew up listing to them, especially since they were from my city. For me outside of rap, KoRn and Slipknot and Coheed & Cambria have always been what I listen to aha
This type of music is real and raw. Listen to the song Daddy by Korn. It's hard to listen to because it's so raw.
Follow the leader was the soundtrack to my JR high years 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Please find the live video of Korn with The Cure (Make Me Bad) it’s a mix of two different songs. A Korn song and The Cure song.
Also "Blind" live at Woodstock 99 is intense. Just the energy
Bruh I love this song! Still have the CD
Deep song ..keep smilin everyone
Thoughtless by Korn goes in a similar direction. Make Me Bad would be a good song to listen to next too.
After watching a couple of korn videos you should check out Daddy by korn
Got you 💯
Gotta check out "thoughtless" by korn its got Jesse pinkman from breaking bad in the vid too haha
Definitely! One of my favorite KoRn tracks
I love this video. I like how all the kids come together to help the girl in trouble. Really powerful stuff. Btw, Fred Durst (from Limp Bizkit) directed this! He did a damn good job.
A ton of songs to recommend but try Korn - Blind Live from Woodstock 99. Think you'll enjoy it.
You guys should also check out "Thoughtless" by Korn and "A.D.I.D.A.S."
First time seeing you. Saw the shirt and subscribed instantly.
From the album Issues
Great choice this morning!!
Thank you!!
You gotta check out " Got the Life " and " Children of the corn" featuring Ice Cube
react to blind or shoots in laders by korn
"Daddy" is a very important song but be wary of it if you ever feel ready to give it a listen. It has a lot of very graphic language and imagery regarding the lead singer's childhood trauma and can be triggering to some people. Most people watch the same lyric video but many of the lyrics in that most popular one are incorrect, so here is a link to one with correct lyrics if you ever need it.

Should listen to here to stay by korn
Thoughtless is amazing as well! Check that one out as well!
Jaamm🔥🔥🔥

👋🏻♥️
You want a HEAVY song by Korn, listen to Daddy.
Nice video man you should react to Motion less in white
You guys should do got the life
dude if you wanna see korn ill donate 20 bucks towards yur tickets. see them this year. may be their last tour ever as it has been hinted. they sound exactly like the albums live. its insane
Korn is from Bakersfield California where its all meth. Music like this is slept on. Its really quality. Korn is such a sick band. I like seeing more ppl give it a chance.
Pls check out unofficial circle jam 2021. Its FIRE
DO NOT listen to the comments. Listen to more of their songs old and new, get a feel for what they are capable of as musicians and when you have that buffer in place THEN listen to Daddy
Appreciate ya! 💯
@@OfficialLifeWithRecklezz if you want a good one to react to it is the Christmas season and korn has a cover of kidnap the sandy claws
If yall can stomach a song by Korn, "Daddy" will blow your mind. Real talk! The lead singer was abused, hint why most songs are so dark.
You should definitely try reacting to Deftones dude, they got a lot of timeless classics. Be Quiet, Minerva, Hexagram, Change, everything! If you want some slow ethereal or nostalgic vibes you could go for Sextape, Cherry Waves and Entombed 👌🏽
Try some soundgarden. Chris Cornell has a amazing voice!
Check out the band The word alive song call Lifecycle music video
p.o,d youth of a nation if you have not already pls would be dope to see your reaction to it
Don't forget to listen to yelawolf bounce
Architects - Gravedigger
React Daddy by korn
Just sayin…if you guys continue to react to early 2000’s-present metal (hard rock) you will have an absolutely HUGE following. Not many reactors doing what you guys are doing 👍🏻
You guys should check out rotting in vain great song great video
React to "Make me Bad" by KorN .there's a video too
Alice In Chains next!!!
Can you dial back the transparency on the video a couple smidges please?
React to papa roach Broken home 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I don't if I even want to encourage this but...
Daddy
I probably would not do a reaction video cause its gonna fuck you up
But its probably the heart breaking song you'll ever hear
Don't listen to daddy just yet, take the time with the different Korn music.
Can u do my chemical romance ghost of me. please
If you want to listen to some deep dark shit, The song daddy by Korn is by far the darkest. Jonathan Davis the lead singer created the song because a family friend sexually assaulted him. The song it self is rough, The ending where Jonathan Davis breaks down crying is the worst part.
Give a reaction to Daddy. It is about the lead singers personal story. I warn disturbing but….you will appreciate the band in a while different light.
Korn was my fav band for years back in the day there old albums are the best i don't like many of there new songs
Ludacris ft Mary j Blige.- Runaway love... please react!!!
I hate to do it to you, but if you want to get into the abuse side of what this band talks about, you've gotta do a song called "Daddy". But prepare yourselves and grab a box of tissues. Korn helped so many kids dealing with childhood abuse. But that song in particular brought it all to the front.
This is dope ..fuck your abuse
singer was molested as child. listen to song daddy
