Solace of You , is another great song to check out . Put out as a single. Uniquely Living Colour.
Some of us from that era consider Living Colour and King's X to be in the top of the best list.

Corey's vocals are spot on but musically the original version is much better. But that's just my opinion.

This was pretty good! He put his all in this. It has a blues vibe, as well as the other genres you mentioned. It kinda had a hint of "I'll Take you There" by the Staple Singers. I may have to listen to it a little more to see if it is Playlist. I may like this a little better than "Cult of Personality".
Take a listen to Corey Glover's solo album "Hymns" from 1998. Great voice, lyrics and music. "April Rain", "Hot-Buttered Soul", "One", "Little Girl" and "Silence" (my favourite) are great songs. Still got it on cd and was (very) underrated back in the day and deserved more airplay imho

Great band here, but you should be hitting Television. You will hear so many bands that were influenced by their music especially the guitarists.
True , however this is literally the only all black rock band to crack the mainstream.
Fishbone ( though they didn't really break) Love their track " EveryDay is Sunshine".
Every song on this album is absolute fire, but Georgy Porgy, Girl Goodbye are ones you gotta react to!
You should check out another all black rock band from the same era, Fishbone - Sunless Saturday.
For another example of some very soulful singing, check out "I'll Be Standing By" by Foghat. British blues at its finest.

Not the best tune to go with for LC... and a remix too... yuck. Check out "Type" next for a rocker.
Great song, but this is an awful version. The original is the way to go.
