Thank you thank you thank you for reacting to one of the best songs from one of the best rock bands (highly underrated). This song has so much feeling and emotion in it and is amazing!! Try also their song, Nothingness and New Jack theme or Type
Finally! I've been begging people to watch this awesome vid.
Really good song.
I think the key lyric is ”Oh no, not that again”, with emphasis on ”again”. The protagonist has obviously been through enough heartbreak to feel apprehensive about the prospect of falling in love again. And if you’ve had your heart broken, it’s not difficult to sympathise. That said, I think it’s safe to say the song is very much done tongue in cheek - it’s not a serious diss on the concept of love, or marriage. It's just a bit of fun.
Cory and the band are awesome live. Rolling stones gave them their break and managed them
Got me to stop by. One of the best groups ever. I've seen them in bars to the Cotton Bowl opening for the Stones.
The singer did a back dive off the stage during an encore and landed on his head right in front of me. We were watching the guitar player jamming out so didn't see Corey jump. He lived and it was the end of the show.

To me, the lyrics are pretty straightforward. He loves this girl, or thinks he does, but it's more of an obsession. He says in the song that he'd go out and stay out, and she was unphased by that, so he just stopped going out.
And then with the marriage thing, I think he had a dream of marrying her, and woke up like, 'I don't know about all that....'
I always forget the movie he played in platoon or full metal jacket. They still your and go see them you will be super happy

My take on this song is that it's about his fear of commitment when he falls for someone because you have no control over where and when you find love. I think Living Colour are an under-rated, hugely talented band who, over the years, have demonstrated a unique and original sound. Thanks for the vid.

this band was very political in the 80's, 4 awesome ny musicans who stared the black rock coalition the singer is Danny Glovers nephew.. listen to Open letter to a land lord, Type,and Funny Vibe I'll give you some others, this band was really woke for the time.... basically this songs says either you get taken advantge of, or you take advantage, when love comes your way..listen close
