I think the scene where Joan asks Sam to draw a picture of Shane and the Major is much more subtle and touching at showing her softer, more human side than all the Shane stuff.

It's hard to believe how the writers have lost touched here. With Bobbie, Pixie and Marlene doing cheers. It's a far cry from how scary Wentworth was at first. And considering how much noise they make the screws would certainly hear.

Alice/Lurch is one of my favourite characters.
Ferguson's changing attitude when she wanted a painting done when Myra and Judy walked in it was amazing it was so quick.
There's been a few bad characters on the show, but Rabbit wins hands down, for being the most annoying.

EDIT; 18:28.... I just knew she was building up to that, but I thought she was just going to produce a photo of Shane, not the Major too. My favourite story line so far is the Mother Son relationship between Shane and Joan. Beautiful, yet what they want they cannot have. Moved to tears yet again!

Notice when joan gives sam the picture shane is on the left but when they get another shot of sam with it the major is on the left, same when they show joan standing infront of it on the fireplace they swap places there aswell. Lol

Len being as subtle as a sledgehammer there talking to Meg in his office.
Joyce is being an interfering sticky beak over Meg's baby. She has no right or enough understanding of the situation to enable her to be so persuasive over what to do. She should just offer her opinion if she must and then leave it at that. Geoff seems a decent enough top dog and Myra would do well to respect him more for it. Meg just never learns..... As if confronting that intruder was ever going to get her anywhere. Sometimes her actions just totally baffle me in these tense situations, and Lord knows, she has had enough experience of them by now to be able to handle them more sensibly.

Apparently you didn't notice..... it was TWO separate pictures, one of Shane and one of the Major.... they weren't taken at the same time..... Joan put them together for the portrait.... so it's logical she could have switched their positions.

Oh I am truly with you on this one my fellow Blockmate ;-) shame shame on Yemille she bring to great and much admired acting profession and not family. It's beyond me how she and many other gets these roles, I gather her husband is going to be another PCBH recast - George Harlem who played Greek fiancé of Litza , remember Manoli ??. Well you guessed it here he comes again ( likely with the same atrocious mullet hairstyle yuck!) to play the dream guy for Yemille - Ahmed Bakarta, who strangely enough has slipped back into a time warp and thinks he is playing Litza's fiancé because the acting is identical, wooden, stale and utterly cringeworthy . Someone really ought to knit little voodoo dolls of these awful actors and sell them for charity. I am sure Blockmates have tons of suggestions to include on the bad acing voodoo doll list :-) me had!!. , but it had to be said about Yemille and hubby Mr Badactor ( sorry my mistake Mr. Bakarta!! ;-) !! ). I still can't believe Maria Mercedes had other roles and a music career too!?, it has to be friends in the know is my opinion. ;-)

The photos of Shane and Major Ferguson changed positions again when she gave them to Sam.
When Trog(the guy who just threatened Meg Morris) gets up, turns & walks towards the door he reminds me of Halloween's Michael Myers(& yes I know that Michael Myers is silent).

The one thing I cannot work out is Mrs Morris " acting/ deputy governor is back at work so you would have thought she would have taken over as acting governor whilst Mrs Reynolds is of on the sick ! She is the higher ranking officer above that Len " what's his name"
To be fair, it was probably decided after everything she'd been through, not to give her that level of responsibility to soon.

I KNEW I recognised the character Ernie Rowland who was speaking with Joan about Len. Turns out he also played Vince Talbot, the former foreman at Andrew Reynolds' factory where Kay White was introduced to us.
As for that masked intruder bursting into Meg's at the end, well, I don't know what happens as I just paused it as it made me completely jump out of my skin and actually cover my face with my hands. Bloooooody hell I was not expecting that, lol

Bobbie screams so loud sometimes it's amazing she hasn't lagged because of being that loud. It' almost like her and Marlene are competing with who's the first to strip paint off the walls. And as for the atrocious acting of Jemille. This is a point in Prisoner where it got a bit annoying to watch because of some of those characters.

I truly agree, they've made a joke out of the prison system by allowing three men to share the prisoner block with 30 other women. This does not happen in reality and the show has become somewhat silly with the writing , which is in poor quality now that Denise Morgan isn't the principal writer, and the unlikely scenes in this show are absurd. The first 100 episodes are well written BUt once Bea is taken out it loses its believability that they are in a prison. And now it is as if they were in a girls' school for acting out and not a prison. I am glad that I didn't buy this box set because I would have been highly disappointed for 1000.00 (the price of the box set). I thought that the show would go on in an intelligent setting and not with all of this foolishness.
it makes a gr8 change in my opinion. always summat new! frank tis a new character to despise... so despicable he actually makes me sick, matts a lil cutie n so sweet n delaney as another older but handsome top dog gives the show another dimension.
I agree after Denise Morgan left and one by one the original characters left( who were very strong original characters) everything started to go downhill; plots and storylines became repetitious and these later characters are in effect nothing more than pale imitations of the original characters. take each one and I'm sure you can match them up with one of the original characters.
@@mperry1329 The "silly" parts of the show make it look like kid's TV. Characters like Marlene are straight out of a children's TV drama. I think a lot of it has to do with the pressures of writing an ongoing soap that had to keep up the viewer's interest. They will have been obsessing over ratings on a weekly basis and continually looking for new or "novel" things to keep up people's interest in the show. All understandable - it's just a shame that they misfired so often with crap like the stupid cockroach races, surely one of the dumbest plots in the series.

Meg was not written about much in the 600’s era, but she continued existing through another character.
@ 25:30 - Joyce asks Meg not to get the abortion. Because, she can’t have a baby after a botched abortion when she was young. And, that’s why she & Norm adopted a child.
Then, in a later episode, she talks about her experience of giving birth to their daughter. Yet, in an even later episode, we meet her only child, her son.
Now, I’m in currently watching my 28th run of the entire series. And, I am still scratching my head over one of the biggest continuity problems of the series.
You would think that the writers would have created dossiers on the major/long term characters to refer to when writing their storylines. I mean, that would be a logical thing to do.
I know that there are 692 episodes, and inconsistencies are bound to happen in that expanse of time. But, I’m just saying.
And FYI, I’ve been watching “Prisoner” since 1982, when it jumped the pond & aired in America. But 2/3rd’s of my runs are between 2012 & 2022. It takes me about 2 1/2 months to complete a run, by watching 15 - 20 episodes a day. In case you wanted to know.
You forget that in anothe episode Joyce tells Bea Smith she has a boy and a girl.

Thank you. I'm currently coming to the end of run 33, Rita & clan are heading for their first day working on the boat. I've got all the remaining stories running through my mind, and still find it hard to believe how packed they have the home stretch.

@Kapow Kablam To us a scene lasts about 30 seconds to one minute long but in reality that scene would have taken a lot longer to do. So at any point in between her dragging back on that ciggy to the kiss, both actors could and would have quite easily been able to stop to do a quick brush of the ol' chompers! :D
