Nice comparison, thanks. You briefly talked about the swappable payload, but in this drone size market, it’s a big leap forward, it needed more emphasis put on it, no one has ever done it. And also the mm-wave radar which would allow easy navigation around guy-wired pylons, the EMI=shielding allowing to get upclose and personal with high voltge pylons, ... Even though I’m a big Dji follower, I might jump ship soon and the Autel Évoque Max 4 T checks most of the boxes for me.
Autel have as far as i know had swappable payload since the evo 2 model, they only made 3 different versions the 6k, 8k and the thermal. would have liked to see a zoom model too. the max 4 will be an amazing all around drone if they bring out other payloads like a multispectral camera and with the attachment on top they can even make a light sensor that automatically calibrate the camera at the same time... a lidar payload would be cool too.
Hi very nice video. Autel 4T looks a very good drone. I have an EVO PRO 6K - V2, very reliable drone but support in Italy is a drama and above all no news about the "C" category! So, I've got a question: is there the possibility to hang a payload as a 360 camera? What is the maximum weight it can support? Thank you in advance!
QUESTION: As a normal everyday consumer is there any benefit to getting the Autel over the DJI due to laws and regulations coming into effect? Thank you. Great video!
Can you be more specific? The brands are not responsible for enforcing laws. Pilots should be flying safely and to local laws. Autel have both a consumer range and enterprise like DJI. Try the Nano+ for sub 250g or the Lite+. Always worth trying new brands and Autel are the closest competitor

Because of the manner in which these drones accomplish obstacle avoidance, the DJI obstacle avoidance does not work in the dark! It is visual. The Autel is using RADAR for avoidance, which works at night. That is a deal killer. If you are planning to fly at night, the Autel. And NO GEOFENCING. I cannot speak for the reliability of Autel vs DJI. But if Autel is as good from a quality standpoint, it is a no brainer. Autel.
I have the MAX 4T, and so I can tell you that the obstacle avoidance does switch off during night time conditions. I still love the MAX 4T and with each software update, it gets better and better. I am glad I chose the MAX 4T. If I would have thought the initial investment vs return for my business supported the M30T, I might have went that direction. But, it just didn’t seem to work out that way. I am satisfied with the MAX 4T so far, and I hope that sentiment continues.

I had a Autel Evo 2 dual 640T v3 and crashed in a flyaway. Never found it. But as long as I owned it, it worked great. I mostly perform SAR missions for missing dogs and Autel worked well. I would probably replace it with a 4MaxT, but IP is a crucial point. Cannot stop searching just because it’s heavy raining. So I am looking to M30T and it will be a hard battle. Probably Evo Dual will win if the insurance pays. 😂
You now have the Autel Alpha to throw into the mix. Drones can’t do everything so you may struggle with visual or thermal through dense bush. Thermal at night is your best bet.

@edinburghdronecompany My only complaint with DJI is the geofencing, as you previously stated the pilot is responsible and should be following local guidelines. Both are very nice platforms! I was very impressed with the Max's night capabilities and AI tracking! I live in the US but travel to Scotland regularly, what requirements need to be met before I can fly in the UK?
Difficult question… the N is designed to improve lowlight conditions. The thermal is an entirely different view that looks for heat differences and maps them. Thermal can look for a heat source in a large area and locate in seconds but N will give you a ‘real’ view during light which hasn’t allowed vision before. I would always start with the T (thermal) and add in N(night) if required as you can do more with the thermal but that’s just my opinion
From the comments I gather the collision avoidance is radar on the Autel and there is no geofencing. The DJI has camera collision avoidance that only works in daylight.
Good afternoon! Congratulations on the presentation in a very didactic way. I have an M30 that is used in public security. Have you tested the maximum flying distance in an urban area?
