Am clonat HDD pe SSD și am deschis capacul de jos, cel independent de restul , ca să înlocuiesc HDD cu SSD. Când am scos HDD mi s-a părut că lipsește un șurub la suport. Am deșurubat două șuruburi și am scos și HDD din suport, deșurubând cele patru șuruburi. Totul a decurs foarte bine. Am remontet totul și am pus și cele două șuruburi. Am pus capacul și a fost perfect. Totuși am rămas cu impresia că lipsește un șurub. De fapt nu lipsește nimic pentru că șurubul de la capacul carcasei este cel care fixează suportul HDD. Scriu asta pentru că am văzut cât de meticulos ați lucrat și mi s-a părut că ați omis să atenționați acest aspect, cu aparenta lipsă a unui șurub.

I cloned the HDD to the SSD and opened the bottom cover, independent of the rest, to replace the HDD with the SSD. When I removed the HDD, it seemed to me that a screw on the bracket was missing. I unscrewed two screws and removed the HDD from the bracket, unscrewing the four screws. Everything went very well. I reassembled everything and put the two screws on. I put the lid on and it was perfect. However, I was left with the impression that a screw was missing. In fact, nothing is missing because the screw on the housing cover is the one that fixes the HDD holder. I'm writing this because I saw how meticulously you worked and it seemed to me that you failed to pay attention to this aspect, with the apparent lack of a screw. Thanks and congratulations!

Thanks for your video! It's really well explained. One question. When you change HDD for SSD, are you removing all your memory from the computer, including the OS? Or are you changing only the D Partition? In my case, I have 2 partitions (C and D) and I don't really know what happen in case of changing the HDD. Thanks again! Like and suscribe
HDD means all partitions in this system. Because there are single HDD in this Laptop so All are in that one HDD, and when we change this, we have to make partitions and OS and Drivers installation again in New SSD..

I have same laptop asus k55vd i5 . I bought that secondhand italian laptop , how to know if my laptop fan cooler is dirty without opening it.
Blow air thru the exhaust part of the case. If dust comes out then it's dirty. If the fan is noisy even at low rpm's then it really dirty.

Thank you for the thorough instructions Marius. Have you ever done a screen replacement on this model? I have the exact one you're servicing here (top of the line intel i7, win 7 professional, etc, so it is worth keeping, I think) but with a damaged screen. Works fine if connected to external monitor) so I'd like to replace the screen if it's not too expensive (maybe put a higher resolution one, if possible). what do you think? Oh, another (stupid?) Q. what do you use to clean the dust caked on the fan blades inside the fan casing? Cotton ear-cleaning swabs? Cheers, mate.

Hello, in this laptop you can put maximum 16GB SO-DIMM DDR3 1600, and it supports only 2,5" format ssd.

Salut si multumesc pentru subscribe! La acest tip de laptop poti sa pui maxim 16GB SO-DIMM DDR3 1600. Adica 2 placute de 8GB si e recomandat sa fie la fel ( acelasi producator, aceeasi viteza etc ).

I have same model laptop with I3 processor. Yesterday I tried to clone the Data from HDD to SSD (480 gb) thosibha using an one-line tool. And my new ssd is in optical drive caddy. Then I changed the BIOS option to SSD then when I restarted I am getting black Screen. No further bootup menu or windows is starting. Even I tried to remove the SSD and run only with Old HDD it coming same black screen. Even I removed the peripheral like RAM and HDD and tried it but no luck same issues. Could you please let me know any tips which way can I fix it.

Remove the old hdd, the ssd and the optical drive. Verify that the ram module is correct inserted and start the laptop. Can you enter in bios? IF yes then add the hdd and start the laptop again, if you have picture then add the optical caddy without the ssd. If there is no more picture then is a problem with the caddy or with the sata port for that caddy. If you have the old dvd-rw module replace the ssd caddy and start the laptop. Tell me how it goes !

1. The SSD in caddy was detected and I copied the data HDD ( C: drive ) to SSD (F: drive ) via isumsoft.com tool. I did the same but no luck even I changed the RAM slots 1 & 2. But still coming black screen no BIOS option even I try to dry battery and force start did but no changes. Only the cooling fans runs and only LEd is on rest all are off. Please advice me..

Do the following test. Remove the hdd and the caddy and start the laptop. Do you have picture on the screen? Can you enter in bios?

install the CPU-Z program from the Internet into the laptop. On the first page, look at the processor model and socket type. On the "Mainboard" page, see what type of south bridge the motherboard is. Let me know this information. In this program you can see how much RAM (Memory) in the laptop and how many memory modules (SPD => slot#1- slot#4)

No, it's too old. Only 2.5 SSD.
SATA M.2 adapter is sold on Aliexpress
Can be installed in slot instead of HDD
but it doesn't make much sense, because the speed will be limited by the SATA port (300MB/s)
