I'm so glad you pointed out how to fix stringing bead mistakes. It's always a nightmare of mine but it looks way simplier on balls that on crochet ropes.

do all patterns work this way? I mean to add a turning chain at the beginning of a row. They don't say. Thank you for the clear instructions.

Too late but I will still reply for others :) Turning chain is only in some patterns, it usually works so that if it's not there, the author usually doesn't write it in the pattern. On the other hand, when there is a turning chain, they emphasize this information. But you can tell by looking at the pattern.
I wonder if it's possible to start from the middle and decrease untill you reach 6 beads, make two halves like this and sew them together at the end. I really hate the first two rows, I would do anything to avoid them.
The connection would be visible :) And the pattern wouldn't follow the way it should either.

Děkuju opět za super video :) Nechápu jen jednu věc. Jak to, že máte vždy tu kouli po celém obvodu tak hezky kulatou? Já ji mám nahoře a dole takovou hranatou, jak jsou ty rohy, kde dochází k rozšiřování nebo ubírání. Nevíte, čím to může být?
Děkuji! Pravděpodobně moc utahujete. Taky jsem měla první pokusy takové jakoby hranaté, vím co myslíte. Začala jsem háčkovat volněji a pomohlo to, už je mám kulaté.

Everybody fills the balls with styrofoam or wooden beads but no one fills them with fiber like amigurumi balls. I don't understand why. I'm making bead crochet beads and I'm trying really hard to love the ones with wooden core but I don't really. They're hard and heavy compared to the squishy and light beads I get with fiber filler. I want to turn them into earrings so the lighter the better. The only problem I have with them is that because they're crocheted in a spiral they come out slightly wonky especially when I try to make teardrop or olive shapes. I did the closing off the row and step up technique and that makes the beads perfectly round but on the decrease section I can see the thread slightly because of the step up chain being in a different loop than the first SC. In bigger balls I don't think I'd mind,it's not that obvious but with small beads I really don't like it. I don't know what to do. I know there was an amigurumi tutorial years ago about this problem but I can't find it anymore.
Hi, yes, most makers put some sort of solid filler in there. It also makes sense to me for these larger projects like the Christmas balls. I prefer it to hold its shape nicely. But it's just a matter of personal preference. If I were making smaller balls and wanted to use them as earrings, I'm sure the fiber would work great. I myself use hollow fiber for crochet ropes, for example.
Have you tried a slightly thinner thread to reduce the visibility of the transition? I think it might help.
@@Danysska hi, yes thank you. I have thought about thinner thread but I'm using such thin thread already that the only way I could find something thinner would be if I used just one strand of embroidery thread, and that is like...sewing thread. I'm a little scared of crocheting with that. But I have been doing a lot of experimenting since I've written that comment and I think I found something that works for me. I found this lady which was doing decreases in a new way...well to tell the truth it's not new. It was the original way I learned to decrease but I haven't used that method in so long I forgot about it. It's when you put the hook through the loop,yarn over and pull through,and then instead of yarn over and pull through both loops on the hook you just put the hook through the next loop in the row, yarn over and pull through..and now you have three loops on the hook and have placed two beads. So now you yarn over again and pull through all three loops. So you basically work two beads into one stitch just like when you increase but you do it in reverse. Well this worked for me because I no longer have that step up loop worked into an empty stitch without a bead, but...now because I have two beads worked into one stitch I was having the same trouble like in the increases...my beads would bunch up and I would get corners if I didn't work loose enough. It's like you solve one problem and create a new one. Anyway working in the front loop only has helped with that so far. I haven't tried yet with slightly larger beads so I can't say. That will be an experiment for another day. Learning from mistakes is a hard thing to do. I have a whole new kind of respect for you guys doing the tutorials trying everything out. I wouldn't want to do it 🙂. Thank you.
