I've wanted one since 1957. I love everything about it. I think the round rear wheel well fenders are beautiful. This 2 tone color is breathtaking and until you see a 57 like this in person, you can't appreciate the beauty and stance of the this vehicle. They are desired around the world.
My father had one of these 1957 Buicks in the 70's. I remember being small enough at the time to fit between the door and drive shaft floor hump in the back. He once transported a giant in the car. He attended a wrestling match and afterwards Andre the Giant, Superfly Snooka and their manager were at a pay phone trying to get a cab but couldnt. My father offered them a lift. Which they excepted. My father being a mechanic had recently replaced the suspension in the car. Even so with Andre in the car it leaned down on his side. lol.
My father bought a new buick century in 1957. I was a young guy then and he would roll over in his grave if he knew how many drag races I won with his car. It was fast !
My mom had the same color combo in a roadmaster estate wagon' in 57' four door hardtop! All 5 of my sipl, siblings, in it from Pennsylvania to California in the early sixties, it was so rusty, that the body shifted on the frame when going around corners, gotta love the eastern states! Salt Kills cars!
I love 57 Buick wagons, but none were Roadmasters. Only Specials and Centurys. The 4 door pillarless version was the coolest. They were called Caballero wagons.
I wonder which was the fastest. The 1957 Olds Super 88 with 3/2s or the Century. It would be interesting to know. The Pontiac, Chevy, Cadillac, Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Lincoln and Fords would have to be in the running too. Fascinating era. When I lived in Sacramento, CA back in the 90s, there were a couple of brothers who were Oldsmobile fanatics. They had a Silver 1957 Olds Holiday Coupe with a transplanted 455 Olds motor in it. It sounded amazing. The motor had originally been from a '70 442 It had more than 400 HP after some modifications. The car was super fast and very well screwed together.
What was the sticker price of that car new? Were there a lot of different variations? How did the price compare to a 57 Chevy? And sales number? I imagine that they shared a lot of parts with the 57 chevy, for the obvious reason they were both General Motors. I guess you could have gotten air conditioning with that? I believe the first air conditioning was offered in 1948?
They were much more expensive than a 57 Chevy. Very few parts were shared with Chevrolet. Factory Air was introduced by Packard on 1940, but did not come back after the war until 1953. I don't know if you could get it on the Chevy before 55. Ford in1954, yes.
Likes: 1) Rear window in 3 pieces even though didn't have to be. 2) Clean, simple grill. Dislikes: 1) Driver's side-view mirror does not appear to be powered and would be a pain to adjust for different drivers. 2) The dip in the body side molding is too deep and somehow distracting. 3) I don't own it.
Beautiful car!
Thank you for sharing

This looks so much cooler than my 2004 Buick Century Custom.
I agree😀
Oh, those bench seats sure made things easier in those days.
Absolutely gorgeous !!!
This 1957 Buick is stunning and will turn alot of heads.
THAT! IS A BEAUTY!
Yes, these were the Glory Days of the Centuries.

Excelente Buick
The real Buicks. Today's are not as good.
Today's are just too small to be real Buicks.
I scored a few times. With a Buick like that one back on the 60s.

The 57 Tri-power Olds, as the HydraMatic was much for efficient than the Dynaflow. Might be a different story if they were sticks.
Delicious.
Beautiful!
Back then when manufacturers actually made cars look good af
Back when cars were works of art. They’re boring as hell to look at now.
They all look the same
Машина - огонь!
The dash still looks modern.
Who needs a 1957 Chevy Bel Air? Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick? Century the FIRST muscle car (larger engine in smaller body).
WoW
Better than new.
I think 1957 was THE Golden year. 1958 was a nice year too, but it was obvious things were heading downhill
Beautiful car. The first one I've seen where the "dagmar" bumper had inverted nipples.
Artwork!
There are still more videos
A work of Automotive ART!

It's a beautiful car, but that loud exhaust is garbage.
