The voting on Manga Plus is biased a lot of the times. I’ve seen plenty of average & bad series win golds, just because the person that made them were super famous or they were well known on another platform.
So I think this might be their way to take chances in the future. I think having someone professional crossover first is a good chess move. It’s like when they have industry plants in the music industry. Made to look natural even though they’re manufactured. I don’t completely hate this because it’s one more step to opening the door for artists w fewer connections. The only problem I see is an overflow of artists trying to come in. So you’re still right about there not being enough pieces of the pie for everyone. There isn’t enough money or time in the world to read every story people want to put out. I love comics and even I feel overwhelmed w the amount of series coming out.
i mean the power system of the manga is very generic but some aspects are cool like the story telling.jaki did an excellent job with edgerunners and he wrote something good with no/name(the power system is dumb). it is mystery, and suiesha wants new ips since their bestsellers are ending.
I agree to some extent, you make some pretty good points as well and I do believe there are some creators out there like Benshoga that deserve gold. But at the same time you have to remember that there will be stories that wont meet YOUR personal standards, like No Name, it doesn't meet your standards: Yes, but calling it a bad story, is an objectively wrong statement. NoName has a good story, it has a really good setup, it establishes the world, the power system and the organization pretty well. And the characters are relatable but just not to you. The two main characters do have flaws, no one is perfect. If you had a friend who was being attacked and was about to die and you had a gun beside you, would you just watch your friend die or would you do something? I relate to the mother trying to fight for her child because my mom had to fight for me as well cuz my dad was an abuser and she had to even fight against the law just so she could protect me. Guess what, it happens in the manga as well. The thing about NoName is that it isn't meant to be inspiring, it's meant to show what happens within the world. It's tackling subjects that other manga are trying to avoid and that's what makes it good. I don't think NoName is meant to be a shonen, I think it's targeted towards more mature audiences. Let's look at attack on Titan episode one. It is not hopeful, it's not inspiring, it's relatable (dealing with loss) and it's not familiar because it was something new, and just with the first episode, does it make it a good story? Yes it does. When the mother of the kid is killed in NoName is killed, you can see in the main characters facial expression that they regret it. It was a mistake right? Guess what, every single human being has made a mistake and regretted it in life objectively making it relatable. That is why manga is **SUBJECTIVE, NO MANGA APPEALS TO EVERYONE** No hate man, I know what you're trying to achieve with the channel, I'm just pointing out some of the things that you got wrong. I get that you have standards but at the same time you have tunnel vision and are even contradicting said standards to some extent .
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again people fear what they do not understand that’s what made Lovecraft such a good writer the fear of the unknown however that’s beside the point this industry is a cesspool nothing but whiny children I’ve seen it for what five years now yeah five years despite my health concerns I’m still working now granite the samurai and gunslinger is on hiatus The story is just too stressful for now. imo no name is kinda cheating not cuz the writer is established but cuz its supposed to be a one shot but we barely know anything abt the main characters and its a prequal rather than a actual one shot or prequel or even ch1 but i think we should give it more time to properly world build n establish its chrctrs. i do think the power system is very weird n un exciting.
