You need a lazy susan to work on when doing arrangements. Makes life much easier! Love the urn. reminds me of an old still-life painting.

I love these arrangements, but my struggle is that it would take well over $100 to buy this number of plants like these, no? Is there a way to get them cheaper that I don't know about? Sadface.

@@donnaerickson8280 oh same. I can do regular houseplants and regular phals but succulents? I always manage to either over- or underwater them xD recently I got a tip to just mist them with water in winter so I will try that this year and see if they will live for me, haha

I treat so lightly with my succulents and they still manage to die on me, and you're tearing roots apart so easily, you're such a pro T-T it's hurting my soul. Can you guide me what is the ideal temperature and humidity to keep succulents in? It's getting colder here and I don't know when exactly should I move them inside
she said in the video that she brings them in when the temperature drops into the 40's. also succulents don't need high humidity.

@@sheena5201 I also think it's a great idea; it would be so cute. Once I was doing a demonstration as a Master Gardner at our County Fair about unusual containers. I used my own gardening boots for a flower vase. Of course I put some vessels in each boot to hold the water and then arranged my flowers. I remember one visitor exclaimed? Are those really boots? I like using unusual containers for my floral arrangements as well as for my succulent arrangements. , I think that just adds to the creativity of the process.
I really love this arrangement, and I mostly love that you did it slower so we can see exactly how you created such beauty!! This was an awesome video!

Lovely succulent arrangement. I would like to share a tip for cleaning soil off of succulents without touching them with your hands. I use a soft lady's blusher brush. Works a treat and great also for removing aphids from tender shoots.

You mentioned in the beginning that the urn is relatively light weight. Would you ever be afraid that it would get knocked over by the strong winds you get? I have that issue with some of my pots on our balcony during wind storms...

Thank you for introducing me to succulents. I am just about to create an entire succulent bed on an ancient terrace we have just finished converting into a cabane, and the succulent bed will be the crowning glory of a low wall with a stunning view which we didn't want to block with a flower bed, but it is an ugly, uneven wall so we have to do something, we were scratching our heads and then I thought "succulents", Laura's loved succulents would be perfect for a very shallow bed which will add to the beauty of the view. Then I come inside and your video today is about succulents. Well I think that was all the confirmation I needed :-) I think I will have to name it after you !

Laura, I love the arrangement! You have such a wonderful presentation style, it’s like I’m just sitting there with you while you’re creating. What an inspiration! Just a suggestion for you, I do a lot of dimensional projects and I’ve discovered, quite by accident, that having a mirror standing in front while I’m working from behind helps me with balance so I don’t have to lean over the top or walk around as much. I use an old cheval mirror that was sitting in the garage so I can adjust its angle depending on the size of what I’m working on, which is sculptural in nature. You just have to remember you’re seeing it in reverse.
This is one of the most beautiful succulent arrangements that I’ve ever seen! You are very gifted with a great eye and I love all your arrangements.

A pretty easy, cheap option for a succulent container is a hanging basket with cocoa liner. Just make sure it has a flat bottom. Dollar stores have bright summer coated baskets on clearance. Lemon Ball sedum in a bright blue basket is stunning!

Coffee with Laura, Aaron, Russell, and Cheddar along with an amazing arrangement is a great way to start the day! I love seeing a bit of the new little topiary's that you got there behind you. And trust those 2 kitties to give some comic relief. I laughed when you finally just started dropping stuff on the ground like oh well I will clean that up later lol That is totally what I would do but now you need to be on the look out for a small table. This arrangement is so pretty with the different textures and colors so thank you for the inspiration!

It's been a BAD year for pill &:especially Squash bugs here in PA, Zone 7a!🤢
(pill bugs) are not supposed to really do damage, But I hate to have to change out the soil And rip the arrangement apart again when it's ready to come inside in just a couple months. .
We have too much rain for an outdoor succulent arrangement. I have mine on the porch - heat and light but no rain.

So beautiful! I wished I lived closer to your parent's garden center, there is a greenhouse in our town that has loads of different succulents and cacti but they don't allow you into the greenhouse and only sell the ones on a small display and a little 2-inch pot is $4! So I'm left with the slim pickins at the big box stores.
As a side note, you can get a blower to use for blowing the dirt off plants they are made to clean cameras, they actually do look like an industrial baby nose cleaner lol

Love it so much - the urn, the plants, the design! 🥰🤗♥️ What little succulents I’ve purchased, usually from Home Depot or True Value, never have names on them which I find frustrating but in the end, I guess it doesn’t matter so long as I’m happy with what I made. 🤷🏻♀️😂 Really enjoyed seeing you step back and contemplate, trying to decide what to use where - you are like the rest of us. 😂 Thank you for all the inspiration you give us, it keeps my house looking like a home.
