Level 5 can be reached different ways but I think after 40 years what I consider level 5 is a full complete finish job that has been at least sanded flat with no edges then you thin down the compound (I use USG Plus3) and either roll it on or spray the wall and with a paint roller even it out while someone is knocking it down with a flat trowel or broad knife. Let it dry, then using 150 grit sand paper carefully sand it flat trying to stay above the drywall paper. Not for newbie’s!!

you have to mix premix mud before you apply it. u dont add water to premix. u can add soap if you want to apply it smoother but adding water makes it a soupy mess .

I done just about 40 years you do a pretty good job knowing when we started, we used to use paper tape carpenters. She knew how to do the framing the stairs and the drywall and tape were you used to use nails for the heads you doing pretty good job.❤
i called floating , the first pass is called skimming , filling in the holes applying tape n skim the bottom coat for tape application skim the top & sides of tape, the sanding is the real trick , smooth enough so it can be seen by the paint , usually the primer ,,
I like how you do your ceiling corners. Not many tapers go beyond the 4" on either side of the corners but getting a first coat on the ,3 way saves alot of time
30+yr flooring guy who's skim coated a few hundred thousand sqft!! And I've done a ton of drywall! This is the only way, I have ever do it!! Lol, always felt natural using the same trowel. Good for her!! doing a awesome job!!! With a tool that works GREAT!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!! 🍻

I dreaded doing any fixes or mudding and i still have a spot i haven't finished for 12 years and now i am forced to redo my house myself because of inflation and i had some cheap knives but seen a couple of videos on these level 5 and said what the hell and now i can't stop learning! Level 5 tools are game changer, and being on a low income and trying to do things myself. Level 5 is one thing I'm not cheap on! In life, there are things you can get by with the bargin bin and some things you just don't! Halfway done with my house btw and its 2600 sq ft

the tip is to add a little water to the mud because the premixed mud that you buy at the store is usual a little too thick.

In my experience finishing, making sure the edges are flat is most important and easily underestimated.

Just get boxes premier or tape tech use a nail spotter looks better less lap marks and like 3 or 4x faster
