I always loved his tone on this record. It's less chorus and just so pure sounding. So crunchy, but with so much clarity. My band used to cover "Kiss of Death" in 1987-88.
@@MisterPoppy-sc1sj check you ears and listen. Rocco is a BEAST and nobody has come as close to a George’s tone for 1987 than ROCCO does here. It sounds exactly like the Guitar only track isolated... Great job ROCCO! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@RoccoPezzin Interesting! I still think that the riff quality on ULAK was way better (and also on the first Lynch Mob). Plus: I personally prefer the rather “arranged“ way of song oriented solos. Knowing its a matter of taste. Grazie per tutto que fai! 😊
Great video!! Great work!! Not even George Lynch can create perfection like this..😂 he admitted that in several interviews. Just like every human he changed his style throughout the years. I can just hear Mick Brown destroying the drums on the background oh lord
This was a blast to watch. Kept me smiling the whole way through. I forgot how many cool riffs are on that record. "Standing in the Shadows" in particular is a stand out for me. Great job Rocco.
Rocco is the man! So amazingly can play George's sound note for note. This is a great clip, just guitar, no bass, drums or vocals. Play it loud in your garage, open the door, walk down the street & enjoy!
You're not kidding. I just found this guy and am blown away. I have an Axe-FX III on the way and his videos aren't helping with the anticipation. Lynch was my biggest influence as a guitar player growing up.
so good man!!!!! damn u nailed it!!!!!!!!!! people underestimate Lynch, his playing is way more complex than the melodies might sound at first, great job man thank u!!! loved it!!
Rocco. Thank you for this. That clean sound on Stop Fighting Love is great. Did you ever turn up the faded part and the end of Night by Night and listen to George squeal those notes in the outro? It's so haunting! Such a great album. As a singer it was quite the challenge for me when it came out! Brings back memories! Keep up the great content Rocco!
I've been using Back for the Attack as a great warm up on the guitar. I usually play guitar with the whole album every day. My way of playing is a little different as I've only learned it by ear! I've got the AXE FXIII as well. It's a beast and I'll never need anything else! I downloaded the patch and need you to point me to where I can get the cabinets please!
So impressed man. I stopped streaming on Spotify and now just play your videos w/ all the massive 80’s riffage. I can tell difference in tones between BE-100 dlx and AxeFx III now. I like the real tubes a bit better but you are so good at dialing the tones either way. Keep them comin’!
You did it again, sounds exactly like the record man. BTW that fretboard has looked cleaner 😂😂😂 you've been playing a lot (or not washing your hands enough lol)
Damn man, that sounds just like the album! That has long been one of my favorite guitar tones ever. I can get pretty close with one of my modded Jet City 20 watt heads. It is modded after the SIR #36 Marshall and is definitely in that world. I suspect I could get even closer with a speaker change. Anyway, great job!
@@RoccoPezzin Doing well bro 😊 Have a Lynch video coming up in the new year with my amp (Plexi, Purple#39 and SLO) so loved watching this. Always love doing the GL thing! Hope all is good with you too 😊
I have been following for a while now and would love to see a video on recording. I have played for many years but do not know even the basics to recording with the gear that exists today. Could you tell me what you would recommend for gear and software to record a full band sound? Thank you!
been a Dokken & George Lynch admirer from afar since the 80s but I haven't really gotten into them until recently, all thanks to you and your wonderful versions, which at times outshines even the original versions. you also somehow inspired me to pickup the guitar again after laying it down some 12 to 15 years ago. man I hope you can do some tutorials because your skills are incomparable! cheers Rocco!
George Lynch approves this jajaja. Congrats Rocco, you make my day, perfect tone. Back for the attack is a great album but I prefer Tooth and nail and the masterpiece Under lock and key. ROCK ON FOREVER!
Nice! My favorite Dokken album and Lynch tone! Are those Duncan Distortions in your Charvel? I can’t remember where I heard it from but I heard he was using Seymour Duncan distortions during the recording of BFTA.
some awesome as always Rocco, one questiopn are you sure this is the IR re you using OH 412 MRCB V30-EN1 L 57a Cap BR?because i cant find it in that Ownhammer pack,i found this IR OH 412 MRCB V30-EN1 57a Cap BR without the L
Thanks dude! Yep that's the same IR, I have the first version of the pack which had separate left (L) and right (R) IRs for some kind of stereo setup, they just combined them for the bundle, sound wise they're the same
Pulling out the deep cuts My favorite Standing in the shadows, Cry of the Gypsy. Rocco nails it all.... Outstanding 🤘🤘 Note for note. That tone is still classic
So what’s the secret and don’t say “the fingers”…. I downloaded the preset, bought the Ownhammer IR pack and even used the same IR listed into my Axe FX 3 and it’s barely close to this. Missing all the chirp/chime that the JCM800 sound has in the opening and I have the same guitar. It’s missing a lot of presence that’s likely in the post processing or cab settings that isn’t shared. The bass setting in the cab IR is +2db and the rest flat making it quite woofy as well. Thanks for sharing Rocco and your an amazing player, but like so many others out there, the presets never seem to quite carry through the same. Cheers!
Hey Chris, sorry to hear that. If you use the same IR it should sound 100% like the video, no idea why it doesn't on your setup. There's literally 0 additional processing on the guitar track, just a limiter on the master to bring up the level by a few dbs, that has nothing to do with the sound though. There are people on the forum saying they've used other V30 IRs with it and still sounds surprisingly similar, even without the exact IR I used.
@@RoccoPezzin No worries man. I’ve noticed this with others in some circles that find the same thing when downloading presets from AxeChange too…. I’ve spent a lot of time playing with settings and found the cab and EQ to have the greatest effect overall, but I can’t figure this one out. Again, no worries man. You are a phenomenal player and same can be said for your preset tone. Cheers!
Holy wow! As a Lynch aficionado...you absolutely nailed this! Now, for a non Axe-FX user, can you at least tell me what amp model you were using...or what real world Marshall (I assume) it's based on? Thanks!
Well done 90% there I would say. To me it's missing a little more bass and your mids sound even harsher than George's. A huge part of the sound is that mic placement dead straight on the middle of the speaker cone.
The master returns! That Kiss of Death riff is way trickier than it looks too, nailed it.
I struggle with that riff every single time haha thanks buddy!!
