H! Agreed, the new CDJ needs a lot of work to come close to what the Denon players can do. Yes, I did connect it up to the Prime 4. The only thing you have to do is make sure the firmware matches for both devices.
Good content. Question here, When using the layers in this way when trying to use the deck as a solo device (Because these are a GRIP) is there an option to change the color scheme for the "other" layer like Layer A be that Blue and layer B be red AND can the tracking showw them together one on top of the other to confirm the beat matching is synced and tight.

Recently i put a AES module in my NEXO amplifier and connect it to digital out on X1850, but i have no sound out of the amplifier, can you please help me with the correct setup. Regards Joost
Channa you said you weren't buying anything else!??! LOL. Of course I will watch it for you . You give us so many amazing videos. You deserve this. I see you pre-ordered in February so this doesn't break your self imposed buying embargo. 😅🤣😂
Question for you. I just bought the prime 4 about a week ago and am very satisfied. I can't believe how far we've come since I used vinyl 20 years ago, even played at a club which was awesome. I've been out of the loop so long because of wife and kids, and using this new tech is incredible. I'm retired from the scene now and this is mostly my hobby now just making mixes for friends and family, and getting a release from life issues. I was debating returning my prime 4 since I'm in the 14 day return window, and instead now going for the full 2x sc6000 and x1850 mixer setup since I have the money for it. Would you say it's worth the extra or is the prime 4 pretty much the same? I'll be honest I prefer the bigger jogs but it's not a deal breaker. Although the sc6000's and x1850 just look more professional and I'm sure they feel it too. I've got about another week to make the decision to exchange the prime 4 for the full sc600 deck and x1850 mixer setup. Since you've used both I'd figure you have the best opinion on it. Is it a no brainer to upgrade?
I’ve had the Prime 4 as well and the big thing for me is the effects on the mixer and large screen for each deck. I ended up selling the Denon mixer and moved to the Pioneer DJM900-NXS2.
Hi DJ Vella! I did that with mine. I believe you need both the Prime 4 (adorama.rfvk.net/Gjnm5r) and the SC6000 (adorama.rfvk.net/6bAe9V) on the same firmware version and then it's good to go. You can share the library across the decks with the ethernet connection. I would look at the the new LC6000 (adorama.rfvk.net/3Pj9Yd) as you can just control the other layers on the Prime 4 with those at a fraction of the price of the SC6000.
Excellent video, thoroughly enjoyed the walk-through. Beautiful crisp shots of the kit 😍. Mix was dope too! Subbed now. Only negative for me personally was it felt like you're too close to the camera when you're talking, made me a bit uncomfortable, like I was staring into your soul 😅. Anyway, thanks for the vid, look forward to watching your other stuff 💪🏾
Thanks DJ Fuzz!! LOL! Staring into my soul, first time I've heard that. Here's a link to Saturday's DJ Stream, next one is September 26 at 2PM PST - ruclips.net/video/YxUKbnGB2n0/видео.html
Doesn't need to be that pricey man, assuming you own a laptop or PC just get yourself an affordable controller and start learning. Of course its a slippery slope from there, I started out on the original numark mixtrack Pro, 5 upgrades later and I'm running a pioneer XDJ RX2, so it hasn't exactly been a cheap hobby for me haha. You don't need high end gear though, it won't make you a better DJ. The one thing I'd recommend is buying something with nice long pitch faders, short pitch faders are one thing that will definitely hold you back if you want to learn old school basics like beatmatching by ear. Some people will say that in an age of BPM readouts and stacked waveforms it's not necessary, but I find confidence in knowing that I can still mix without waveforms and accurate BPM info.
You know what would be cool...if you can hold shift +Play to stop the other deck simultaneously and play the other deck. This would be great for transitions!!
Yeah, did you see the leak from Laidbake Luke’s IG story? Looks like they are working on a “slave deck” to control the other song. Pretty cool idea, but doesn’t help unless we spend more money.
This is a feature of Virtual DJ and works great on the SC6000. I've used two Numark controllers hooked up to VDJ to have 4 physical decks. The deck shift button can work either way in that scenario and definitely helps shortcut, but with having 4 physical decks anyway in that instance it really only alleviates the need to reach.
@@TechnoDad I'm not sure they are going to price them less than $549. You can get an SC5000 for less than $700 so thats prolly a better way of going. Chances are in a month the SC5000 will be even less.
Can one sc6000 playing as deck 1 also display deck 2's track on the same screen and vice versa so I can see the transitions? Im not refering to dual layer, im talking about tracks playing on the other deck seeing them also on the other decks screen. Kind of like how I can on the prime 4.
I multistream through Restream to two RUclips channels, Twitch, and Periscope (Twitter). I heard they just incorporated Mixcloud, so I'll definitely give that a shot!
Hahaha, right?!?! I got a second deck and a RANE MP2015 so I gotta put the X1850 up for sale. Check out the live DJ stream Saturdays at 2pm PST. Here’s a copy of last week’s show - vimeo.com/514808638
@@sk8tb1 Hi! I don't use Wifi. I load all my tracks into Engine Prime software and then use an external SSD to plug directly into the SC6000s. So as long as you have power, you should be good to go!
Great video! You should do more DJ videos... I'd bet a decent portion of your viewers would be interested, or watch even if they're not already into DJing. Plenty would probably watch anything audio/tech related you put out. Subscribers that don't want to watch shouldn't mind the additional content... I have been wanting an SC player beside my MC7000/Serato setup for quite some time, now I'm torn between wanting that or the 6000, but not sure I'm ready to leave Serato behind yet... If you haven't snagged up a second deck, Denon should send you one...lol Is Denon/Marantz home audio gear and Denon DJ all still the same company, under InMusic? Nice mix...
Hello Isaiah! Thank you for the kind words, I actually do a live stream every Saturday at 2pm PST, like this one - vimeo.com/506623518 I also got another deck and swapped out the mixer for a RANE MP2015 rotary mixer. I'm loving it!
Channa, great video. Is there a feature where the mixer and player could give a faster visual cue? For example, having jog wheel and mixer output meter lights indicating one color for track one. So when you switch to another track, the jog wheel would turn to another color. This would would be a fast visual to not press play or cue when both player and mixer are outputting same color. Make sense?
Apparently, I can change the color of the CUE button on each channel of the mixer, so I can match that to the layer on the deck. I think that'll be the way to go. I'm all jazzed up and want to try it out but I have to go to sleep...
The topic had no interest to me - but had to watch to the end. It was like watching one of my kids opening their Christmas present they were hoping for!! LOL!!
Could you possible give me some advice. I am thinking of starting some new dj mix videos on RUclips... What I would like to know is... How can I do this without getting copyright strikes and my mixes getting took down.? Any help would be greatfully appreciated
Hello Christopher! I have an account with Epidemic Sound, which has a lot of royalty free music. They aren't super long tracks, mostly 2 - 3 minutes long but will not hit copyright issues on YT. For my DJ stream, I use regular tracks and sometimes the video gets blocked, but you can mute the audio for those tracks so your mix stays live on YT. Here is my last DJ Stream, start around the 5 minute mark - ruclips.net/video/YxUKbnGB2n0/видео.html
@@TechnoDad thanks for the reply. Is there any license you can get to play any music on RUclips without ever getting copyrighted.? And can I earn money from the mixes on yt.

I had to laugh I could see you was a bit confused at times which layer you was on. But it's not that difficult I got use to it pretty quickly, but yes in the beginning from force of habit your always looking for that other deck. I configure mine on one and four so I could just go across and keep some normalcy. I have the sc5000 kit, really not interested in bigger jog wheels but it does look lovely. Thinking of getting the motorized version
Yeah, it was tough making this video. I did a live stream yesterday for three hours and it was a little bit better. I did make a couple of mistakes but I have a second SC6000 on the way. I tried out the motorized version at NAMM this year and they seem pretty cool. I don’t do a whole lot of scratching so I went with the standard SC6000s.
@@TechnoDad Nice, I loved the set you did pretty good considering the music was royalty free. Some definite head nodders there. Yea I'm old school so I don't need screens or anything I do everything by feel so I figured motorized would just give a better tactile sensation. I spin alot of house and E.D.M.
You can do both with this player. For USB drives you need to download Engine Prime Software and load the songs through that. Or, you connect the player to WiFi and connect your Tidal or Beatport account and then stream music to the player.
Pick different color to each layer . The mixer will show the colors as well on the cue button . Also if You did the colors , then You can't mess it up even if You have a different mixer . Visual feedback is very useful .
I thought the mixer would do so automatically but that's not the case. I have to change the color of the CUE buttons manually. Once I did that, it was a lot easier!
Hello Ivan, I was not planning on buying a CDJ3000. If I were to compare products, it would be products that are in the same price range, which would be the CDJ900NXS vs the SC6000.
@@TechnoDad The CDJ900NXS is the most plastic feeling jog wheel ever. I scroll the job wheel and I' said "gross" out loud at the icky cheap feeling. If you want club standard from 2005 go with Pioneer, but there are no clubs any more so... Club owners will unfortunately just buy whatever is next from Pioneer and Pioneer knows this. A whole lot of DJs would have to demand Denon for that to change. I don't see that happening. Now having said that. Denon is playing the long game. People that are breaking into pro level and buying their first multi-thousand dollar setup are going with DENON now. Eventually, this will permeate throughout.
Lol! That was me pressing play/pause on the wrong layer. It’s not easy to DJ with only one deck, but I have gotten better - ruclips.net/video/YxUKbnGB2n0/видео.html
Don't like the new platter wheel. Don't like the green. Seems denon always had problems getting their jog wheels, platter wheels, cue buttons done correctly. They have changed their cue buttons & jog wheels so many times it's ridiculous! Best vinyl wheels were on the sc3900s. But their new clicking cue buttons will break down. Denon needs to finally get their act together on both the platter wheels & cue buttons. With that said. Love denon products. Mainly because the are affordable compared with pioneer DJ products & built to last quality. My 2 main reasons I like denon. Thanks good video. 👍
Thanks for watching! I don't hate the platter but I don't scratch or anything like that. I use the hot cue buttons at the bottom which is something that I started when I had the old DDJ-SX. I think I only really hit the Play button out of the two. I had the SC3900 a while back and didn't like the Engine software, but I think it's a lot better now. All in all, I'm stoked for this new setup and my second SC6000 arrives today. I've gotten better at the single deck mixing but it's just easier with a second deck. It's funny to see all the videos comparing the SC6000 and the CDJ3000 even though there is a HUGE price discrepancy. I was going to make a video comparing the SC6000 to the CDJ900NXS as the price difference is $100. That to me would be an apples to apples comparison. What do you think?
@@TechnoDad hello, yes I agree. Personally if you got $2400-$2500 for 1 DJ device then you are doing very good my friend. I'm just upset that denon still to this day can't get their jog wheels & cue buttons done right. I think they finally got it right. Personally I don't like the platter wheel cover. It's almost a copy of the denon dn5000. Clear plastic covers with grove lines. But my opinion doesn't matter. Lol 😁! Thanks brother God bless. Good videos 👍!
Pioneer now has clicky cue buttons! I have no idea how people let them get away with this crap. (i'm assuming you mean PFL buttons) (also you can change the color scheme of each media player. waveforms stay the same though afaik no way to change those)
@@TechnoDad What I mean is; let's say you bring in your first track on layer 1 at +2% and then switch to your second layer for the next track, but it has to be at -1.5%. You slide the pitch to -1.5% while layer 1 remains locked to +2%. I'm curious what happens if for whatever reason you have to switch back to layer 1. The Denon doesn't have motorized pitch faders (as far s I know) so it won't move back into the appropriate position.
Sean Brown yes... once you change layer moving pitch control... pushing the jog wheel... pressing the cue play button has no affect on the playing deck... just just have to make sure you are on the right layer...it gets easier with practise
Hi Techno Dad, thanks for the video. One question: if you connect the decks to the mixer via the digital ports what are those network connectors for then?
Great question Petr! So the digital in/out is just for the audio signal. When you connect the ethernet from player to mixer, that allows the mixer to lock in the BPM from the player. This is super handy when it comes to BPM based effects on the mixer. Also, when both decks are connected to the mixer via network, your second deck shares the music library with the deck connected to your hard drive or USB stick.
Rip pioneer ? Open your eyes and look around there in most clubs and festival's across the world. Pioneer has just begun you can keep your Star Trek Denon gear 😂😂
Clintz clubs that are closed... festivals that are cancelled.. and not coming back anytime soon.. but hey...you keep buy over priced stuff that is more or less the same as the previous model👌👌
Mixing on one deck on thr Denons are not rocket science. Just build the habit of checking the cue point color of the live fader of the x1850 mixer before stopping the deck. Its dead easy.
I thought the mixer would automatically change the color of the CUE button, but I have to change it manually. Once I figured that out it was easier and I have done three DJ streams since this video - ruclips.net/video/YxUKbnGB2n0/видео.html
I didn't think it was an issue due to the fact that I'm just using the one deck. I did have two decks and the mixer linked up, but I just upgraded to a RANE MP2015. Here's what my setup looks like, fast forward like 10 mins - vimeo.com/506623518
I own the set. Is not all that hype. Feels cheep and jug feels knob is cheep made and works halfway unless u buy the M series u can’t back spin. I hade the pioneer ddj sz and it work like a charm and the jugs and bottoms feels steady and responding. 200000% much better.
You can enable more backspin, but requires manual tension under the panel, just like the crossfader. The tension dial I don't think has a wide enough range. I don't know why anyone would have it any higher than minimum. Having said that, because of the shaping of the jog wheels there is a slight gap that is more prominent than usual and you want to make sure no crumbs fall in there. This is not as noticeable on the 6000, but definitely noticeable on the 5000.
What's up Gabe? Open Serato DJ Pro, at the top left you'll see a bunch of buttons "Horizontal, Flip, REC, FX, Horn Icon....click that Horn Icon and that will open up sample slots above your song prep area. Drag and drop the sample you want to use in one of the slots and you're good to go! Hope that helps.

How do you like the players?
@@TechnoDad Very much ! The more I use them the more I am in love. We have a livestream every Friday and they are doing really well. The players, that is ;-)
The new Industry Standard. The SC6K makes the CDJ3k look antiquated. Have you tried hooking the SC6K up to the Prime 4?
H! Agreed, the new CDJ needs a lot of work to come close to what the Denon players can do. Yes, I did connect it up to the Prime 4. The only thing you have to do is make sure the firmware matches for both devices.
Thank you for the well explained guide!

I think the biggest advantage of a digital connection between player and mixer is that it's basically impossible to clip the input.
It’s a amazing setup dual layer on each deck love denon since a long time ago
Yeah, it's pretty cool. I have since purchased a second unit and swapped the mixer for a rotary Rane mixer.
Hi! Thanks for watching! Yes, I have it so that blue is layer A and purple is layer B. With the new update, it shows both waveforms a lot better.

LOL!!
That touch screen is pretty sweet. You have to be so excited about getting a new turntable of this high end quality.
You wouldn't believe! Almost 20 years of DJing and finally I can get a flagship digital setup.
@@TechnoDad So happy for you. You have more than earned it. Thanks for sharing
Hey, is it possible to mix with the Denon Prime 4 and two Sc6000? i haven't seen this and im not sure if it is possible :,(
Hi DJ Vella!
@@TechnoDad It would be cool if you make a mix with the Prime 4 and the Sc6000 :3, Thanks for the answer :3
That is dope man. It makes me wanna learn how to dj but it's a hobby I can't afford.
It can get pricey really quick. I've been DJing for almost 20 years now and this is a flagship player.
That’s a great idea Mac! Having a way to press play on layer B while having layer A on screen.
@@TechnoDad yea it’s funny how they didn’t come up with this idea if they are going to do dual layering
Hi! I’m not 100% sure as I haven’t updated the decks in such a long time.
Go for Mixcloud. They'll never shut you down, and they support the artists via your stream. Not affiliated, just a fan.
I multistream through Restream to two RUclips channels, Twitch, and Periscope (Twitter). I heard they just incorporated Mixcloud, so I'll definitely give that a shot!
I stream for about three hours at a time so...

Hey brother can the sc6000M single deck do the same. ?
Btw do I have to buy the mixer as well because I got an older one
Hi! The SC6000M should work in the same fashion. You can use whatever mixer you want. I ended up getting a Rane MP2015 and another SC6000.
@@TechnoDad awesome. does the sc6000 depend on wifi or can i go out to the woods and mix aswell ?

Thank me me for for a great 😌😌 thank

You did a great job buying Denon. The new Pioneer CDJ is a joke.
For that price Pioneer could have done something different...

The honest review, thnx! =)
Would a 0.5 metre digital cable be long enough?
That’s tough, since the digital inputs are on one side of the mixer. I would go with at least a 1 m
Press shift and layer to have both waveforms show
That must be from a new update!
How do you load your music? With USB Cards or Online Music?
You can do both with this player. For USB drives you need to download Engine Prime Software and load the songs through that. Or, you connect the player to WiFi and connect your Tidal or Beatport account and then stream music to the player.
can we use the sc6000 with serato without the x1850 or 1800 but it with another mixer?
I’m sure you can use the SC6000 with another mixer but I’m not sure about Serato functionality.
hi, thanks for the video. can i know the track at 23min? much appreciated.
The RCA plug is around 30 Ohm. so kinda irrelevant if the cable is 75 Ohm ...
Sir can i cast from andoid to Denon AVR X2400H
Or is there any way i can stream netflix or prime video on the AVR .
Vasudev Aggarwal I don't think you can, I use a nvidia shield to stream Netflix which is connected to my Denon avr.
I think the only services you can stream with the AVR is music like Spotify, Tidal, and that kind of stuff.
The new Pioneer CDJ3000 just released. Will you be comparing both Pioneer & Denon models?
Hello Ivan, I was not planning on buying a CDJ3000. If I were to compare products, it would be products that are in the same price range, which would be the CDJ900NXS vs the SC6000.
Techno Dad i like your thinking.👌👌😄
This looks bad ass
Yeah, it is! and it's freakin' HUGE!!
Can you review the SC6000M?
Hi! I got another SC6000 so I probably won't be getting an SC6000M.

I'm not sure what that means...

What is that track at 17:30?
20:51 what happened? Why did it just freeze like that?
(i'm assuming you mean PFL buttons)
(also you can change the color scheme of each media player. waveforms stay the same though afaik no way to change those)
How the heck do you use the pitch with 2 layers?
Just like normal. When you change layers the pitch doesn't change.
Denon makes pioneer look so outdated RIP Pioneer ⚰
It does!
New CDJ 3000 just launched. Hope now pioneer is not out dated?
Rip pioneer ? Open your eyes and look around there in most clubs and festival's across the world. Pioneer has just begun you can keep your Star Trek Denon gear 😂😂
Clintz clubs that are closed... festivals that are cancelled.. and not coming back anytime soon..
but hey...you keep buy over priced stuff that is more or less the same as the previous model👌👌
@@djjas764 They still are. And even more overpriced.
Mixing on one deck on thr Denons are not rocket science. Just build the habit of checking the cue point color of the live fader of the x1850 mixer before stopping the deck. Its dead easy.
