Denon always goes above and beyond. Cannot wait to upgrade my sc5000 set up. As always, amazed to see the life of a Dj on tour and how calm you stay despite the delay. As hard as it may be to believe, a little patience and things always work out. Looking forward to see your show at Lava night club in March, best birthday present ever!
Ive been mixing on pioneers for years.......Im buying my full Denon set next week SC6000s and the X1850 Prime. The future of Djing is with Denon and will be the club standard!! Great video Thank you!!
Absolutely LOVING the Denon new releases! Pioneer have been left in Denon's dust and it is so exciting! 😃 Luke, I've got a technical question for you regarding the prime series players - what is your personal setting you use for the nudge sensitivity? I'm having a tough time trying to find my ideal setting so hopefully some wisdom from the master (you 😃) will help me 😃 Thankyou heaps in advance mate! 😃
Finally jumping the sinking ship. Ordered a sc6000 and x1850 setup. They are a little backordered but I'm sure they will be worth the wait. Also have a Prime 2 coming as my portable unit. It's pretty exciting to see some new tech coming to the market. I was going to wait until Pioneer came out with there new gear but with there announcements of there subscription based software and Rekordbox 6 its pretty clear where they are headed.
I tested the sc5000 last week and I played with the Nexus the day after, and man, Denon is the way right now. I really hope Pioneer will release a new player soon enough. I'm a Serato user, who play some tracks quite fast, and I rarely play on CDjs directly because I can't play the same way; I was able to do so with only 1 Denon player, and no prepared playlist. Sure there's a lot of cons, especially the software, but I totally fell in love with the player. I mean, this is the one that can convince DVS users like me to let our computers at home. I'm willing to tell every DJ and venues I know to test Denon gear
I understand you are backed by Denon, but just to clear the waters....how would you compare the Denon flagship with the Pioneer flagship. Not to definitively show which is best or not! Just your perspective on both. Thank you!
@@huybuiquang8765 I didn't want to start a "war" in here, I just wanted an opinion from Luke. Most of the clubs and festivals worldwide still use Pioneer. As a DJ you won't haul you favorite player to every club or festival you go. So many times you will probably have to play on whatever they have. Yes you can request your favorite players, and they might accommodate your request, but if they don't, then you gotta play on whatever they have. And I'm pretty sure Luke played on Pioneers hundreds, thousands of times. But now that he endorses Denon, I wanted to hear a professional opinion on pros and cons, differences and benefits of playing on one or another. That's it. Not arguments of which one is the best or the worst. Anyone can buy and play whatever they like the most, whatever fits their style and budget ultimately, because both of these options are on the pricey side and not everyone can afford either or. @@amptechno9079 haha you really need to open your eyes pioneer doesn't have half the features denon do in 2020 and denons build quality is amazing in comparison to pioneer, and denon's price is far more affordable they are slowly taking the Industry away from pioneer 👊
Great video Luke ! really like the sc6000s ! my first opinion was also that the screen would be too big but its alright and the new features are looking good as same as the new design, way more smooth. can't wait to try them out

Hey Luke! Was wondering if you had a video or would consider thinking about releasing a video on how you organize your music and tracks in your software. I think this is a pretty important part of DJing efficiently, especially for a beginner DJ such as myself
I'm waiting for a price drop and scouring Ebay .. I'm going to get an 1800 and Sc5000s ... I figure I'll save a bunch of money and Denon has promised to update the firmware soon.
Denon is king of DJ deck players without doubt. Time for them to start cleaning everything up and get their mixer as good as their players. Why has this happened, Denon listens to their customers and innovates accordingly.
My biggest concern about Denon products is the accessibility. I am a legally blind DJ, and the touch screen is not feasible for me unless if the developers include screen reader support, like voiceover found on iOS devices, with their products. I contacted both Pioneer and Serato because their products don’t have screen reader support currently. I would love to contact and work with the Denon engineers, but I don’t have any of their products currently. So, it would be hard for me to test and provide feedback on accessibility features for their products.
Much love for you Luke! You should come down to SPI like you used to back in the day! I'd also love to hear your take on the key differences between the pioneer decks and the new Dennons!
So helpful in my ongoing battle to decide which CDJ setup I want to purchase for myself. Seems very much catered towards the producers as well as the hardcore DJs ^-^
It got much better now since 2017 already. Have some faith and support the competition! I loved Pioneer, but it became overpriced plastic toys compared to the SC5000/6000 sets!

Love the look of the new Denons, but not sure I like the screen size. I went with a full Denon set up to get away from laptops and away from all that visual aid in front of you. With the SC6000's a fear it would be like having two laptops in front of you lol.
That was my first thought too. I like the 5000, the screens seem about the size you would want. But I've only touched the 6000 at a demo and have no real experience with it.
Love the new Denon gear hopefully someday I will switch back to Denon again. Had a question about flight delays, I know you like to do a system check a sound check before shows with your tour mgr how does it work when you have flight delays and show up right before you are on to DJ?
DENON DJ question; at what point are you able to request that Denons be at the club you play at? Do most clubs also have Denons, or because the Pioneers are "the industry standard" do they only have CDJs? Just wondering what I should prepare for when I start playing. Do you bring your own everywhere and set them up?
Great vlog Luke, thanks!! Denon is killing it.. I got 3 sc5000 and x1800 love em to death!! How do you set up and arrange the playlists in engine prime? if you could do a in depth vid on it, it would be great!! Thanks and keep giving us great content!

I forgot to mention about the drumming machine you're going to take to your techno sets. I would love to see you play that thing live. I take it your highly influenced by the one and only Jeff Mills :)
I'm A Little Late Getting To The Gate, But Direct From The Box, Can I Pop In My Flash Drive (But Tracks Have Been Analysed With My Rekordbox Software) And Just Plug And Play, Or Is It A Hassle To Set Up With A Loaded Up USB But Tunes Have Already Been Sorted With Rekordbox. But If Its Not Fully Compatible Yet (19/3/2024) With My USB Flash Drive With Rekordbox Tunes On It, I Might Just Upgrade To The Pioneer CDJ 3000s.
Still don't trust WiFi. It would be cool if Denon could use a hardline (Ethernet Connection) that way you rely on the club's switch. This would increase the reliability. Be cool to see streaming services appear as an app icon on the display like your iPhone and you pick the streaming DJ music app you want and log into it i.e. Beatport Link, Tidal etc. Then all your tracks on your account would appear on the turntable display. That would be the future!
Hey Luke, and insight on the durability of the new sc6000s? I "changed my rider" when the SC5000s came out, and I absolutely loved them, but both the players' buttons started failing along with the platter in a little over a year. I ended up switching back to Pioneer setup, but I'm pretty unimpressed with pio as of late, and would really like to go back to denon if the build quality has improved at all.
@@jamiec4478 I'm not so sure. I haven’t used denons since the DN-S3500 (pre USB era) and I had a bad time on them coming from 1200’s and pioneer CDJ 800/ 1000’s. I found beatmatching using the platters to be extremely different feeling and difficult. I recall having to improvise and rely on the pitch bend + and - buttons in order to get through my set because the jogs reacted so strangely in comparison to pioneer or technics turntables. I can’t help but to notice that the pitch bend buttons still remain on the demon decks... does this mean that the jogs still behave differently in comparison? The new decks look so nice and advanced next to pioneer, and I’d love to give them a chance but fear they still respond differently. Is there still a learning curve with the newer platters?
@@CharlesNTonic your absolutely right, also I can guarantee that most haven't even tried Denon so they just stick to what they know.
Are you gonna do a Kung Fu session at MMW again? Was soo much fun last year!!!
What do you think of Serato dj ?
Make a video with the prime go please!! :)
I’m so a Pioneer Dj
Will it be hard to go from Rekordbox to Engine
You can use your rekordbox box playlist usb on this device
Here in Shanghai I've never seen a Denon controller, at least not in the big clubs, how is it on your countries? are we missing something?
Yes, most venues won't venture outside their comfort zones. If they don't try something new they will stick with what they have
@@shq1723 yeah, idk if cause it's also cause most famous djs are used to using the same stuff and that's what they ask for in their raider.
@@CharlesNTonic your absolutely right, also I can guarantee that most haven't even tried Denon so they just stick to what they know. It would be nice if more DJ's did break the mold and went for Denon instead of pioneer as then for sure we would be seeing it more in clubs. I myself made the transition and never looked back, just so much more you can do on the Denons
Great video 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Denon 🔥🔥🔥💯
What's up man. I would like know what type of headphone you use to play in the clubs. Thank you by the way.
