This man has been playing football since I graduated high school at 18. I am now 40. It has been an honor to witness a living legend all these years. 🏈
The TB12 achievement that never gets mentioned is not the number of rings, or yards, or passes, or TDs, etc. It is, how many other players he's managed to drag along with himself into the NFL Hall of Fame. Average players became good, and good players -- great, if they played on the same team with him; and sometimes -- even against him.
Presented as evidence a 7th round pick that played QB in college, switched positions in the NFL and is now a borderline Hall of Famer. No better example than Edelman.
Well said, He made guys like Kevin Faulk and Wes Welker great and Deion Branch a Superbowl MVP...He got offensive players to play way above what they would anywhere else, and I even believe his work ethic and leadership obviously rubbed off on the defense as well... He forces players to step up their mental game and give their physical all so if anything Tom Brady is underrated
True story. Back when I was living in North Attleboro, MA, about 3-4 miles from Gillette Stadium, and when I was 34 and living in a condo, I used to walk to a place called Bagels & Cream to get my pregnant wife her bagel and coffee in the AM. One time I walked in, it was about 6 or 6:15am, and there was only one person in the place. I placed my order with the girls like I always did and then stood about 4-5 feet from some tall dude watching the TV and NFL highlights. It was the Monday after the Patriots came back to beat the Chargers if I remember right, and one of Brady’s 1st real clutch games as a pro. He had taken over for Bledsoe that year when he was hurt I looked over and thought I recognized this guy. Remember, Brady was not a well known figure at that point but being a huge Pats fan, watching the team and all the press conferences, I knew exactly what I was looking at. Now, Brady was obviously not the player he is today, so I just kinda said something to the effect of, “Hey nice game and good luck this season”. He looked over at me, smiled, and said “Thanks man. We are going to do some amazing things for all of you” (referring to the fans). I laughed and said something like “Well I hope so it’s been a long time since this team has done anything worth really watching”…..I mean I know the Pats had gone to the SB with Parcells but it was also BB 2nd season if I remember and we won like 5 games the year before. He grabbed his ready bagel (probably doesn’t eat that stuff now) gave me a fist bump on his way out and said “thanks for the support and hold on”. I laughed and thought to myself “that kid thinks he’s gonna take this team places? Bledsoe will be back soon”. Looking back on that I’ll never forget that moment obviously, but just the small thing he said showed me the fire this guy had from the time he was just getting started. Amazing.
Tom Brady never got this praise when he was with the patriots. Then he goes with the Tampa Bay bucks for two years, he’s the greatest that ever lived. You don’t hear cheater anymore. All these hypocrite comments below, were the ones that called him that.
You know they called president Trump a lot of things too a bunch of lies he never colluded with Russia it was killary, the two fake impeachments were a total scam so you can't believe everything you hear , Especially when it comes to Brady he had so many detractors and haters and maybe you didn't hear many players talk bad about him , but the commentators , especially guys like Troy aikman who s*** on Brady when he was accused of a lie , and backtrack a few years later when he was spewing how great Brady was in a game and how he was the goat and he always knew this about him and yada yada yada I remember! Troy aikman s******* on Brady and other commentators doing the same. Those NFL football tests were biased , unreasonable and poorly done and of course it came out after the trial by fire and the NFL fineing the Patriots and taking away their number one draft choice! I'm so glad Brady won the super bowl that year to prove to the commissioner what a mistake he made by docking him four games at the beginning of the season. I love watching the commission hand Brady the trophy, the commissioner I won't say is useless name must have been s******* in his pants and Brady was laughing all the way to Disneyland
That’s because most people just gave up. The same happened with Jordan. The same happened with Gretzky. Eventually, people realize how great they are, and acknowledge it. Especially after they retire. It also helped that he went to a totally different team, and won the SB in his first year, after that same team went 7-9 the year before, and all they changed was the QB.
Unless the NFL changes in fundamental ways (no cap, big changes in the draft, series rather than playoffs etc) then it looks like Brady cannot be overtaken. He is the forever GOAT. Just think what this means: you tell your grandkids that you saw the GOAT play and they don’t think you’re talking rubbish and actually listen.
Never say never .I bet you a lot of folks said the same thing about babe Ruth's home run record, would never get broken and in baseball that's truly a big measurement of course in football Tom has all the records and it's not the same but you can never say never but I'm the biggest Brady fan you'll ever want to meet and I hope he never gets a record broken him and Gronkowski together I hope they never get a record broken LOL 😆😂

I've been blessed to have Brady as our Patriots QB. He was so awesome to watch every Sunday, especially as the years passed and he just shattered every record out there. He never cared about mvp's, pro- bowls, stats, records. This dude gets caught up in SB's, and wins allot to get there. He wants the last laugh, not the 1st. Thank you TB-12 for what you bring to all of us. 🐐🏈 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Dude these last few days I’ve been watching all the classics and man do I miss those days. I still can’t believe I watched and rooted for him in real time his whole career. Went to some classic playoff games, prob the most intense was AFC championship against the Jags. What an atmosphere, you could feel the intensity in the air. I think the greatest game of all time was that AFC championship at the Chiefs. Even as a patriot fan the most satisfying SB run for me was year one at Tampa The fact he actually did it year one with a new team and I can’t believe I’m saying this but my favorite TD pass of his was that one to Scotty Miller at the half against packers in NFC championship. That’s when I knew he’s actually gonna win the SB that year.
I am so so sad that we will never see him suit up again. I understand, truly do, but wow there will never been another Brady. And with that being said, there will never be a gronk brady again. Football just wont be the same.
Nobody will ever come close to Brady's accomplishments. He is the one and only GOAT in NFL history. Some of his Records and accomplishments are amazing. Playing in 14 Conferences Championship games 10-4 Record, 18 Divisions, 15 Pro Bowl selections, 35 Playoff Wins, 3 MVP's and 5 Times MVP R-up. GOAT
In awe and perpetually thankful to Tom Brady for what he gave to the best sport in history!! True fans of football are true fans of football. We all have our favorite teams #Cowboys4life..but to see someone that I really didn't care for achieving such greatness is mindblowing. When he left the Patriots is when we really got to witness the real TB12. Words can't describe. Sorry to see him go but glad to have witnessed the GOAT. Thank you Tom Brady
Nobody ever said these things about Aaron Rodgers Nobody wanted to follow Aaron Rodgers to his hotel to ask hum if he could play with him.Nobody ever came out of retirement to play for Aaron Rodgers. Tom Brady personified greatness, competitive spirit and humility. There will never be another player in the NFL like him.
Mahomes is a good heir apparent. I’m glad he is the one who has been crowned as the heir. He probably will never actually take the crown, but of all the people who could have been the ones to take that spot, Mahomes is a good choice. Super humble. A lot like Brady in many ways.
@@MikeySkywalker I don't see ANY similarities.Mahommes has been labeled the "Heir Apparent" since he won his first SB.Tom Brady has been overlooked and underappreciated his ENTIRE career. The referees cheat for Mahommes they even gave Mahommes a SuperBowl by maintaining a soggy wet field to neutralize the Philly pass rush during the SuperBowl not to mention the phantom referee calls against Philly. Tom Brady on the other hand was suspended 4 games for a BS charge of deflating footballs AND HE STILL WON A SUPERBOWL. Tom Brady won 7 SuperBowls and went to 10 AND STILL people thought Aaron Rodgers was better. Aaron has only 1 SuperBowl and WILL NEVER WIN another. Patrick Mahomes has 2 and will probably win, AT MOST, 2 more for his entire career, but people talk about him in a way THEY NEVER SPOKE ABOUT TOM BRADY. People have been singing Mahomes praises since he won his first SB. Outside of Boston people didn't start singing Tom Brady's praises until the Atlanta SB.(which coincidentally was the same year Roger Goodell suspended him for 4 games on some ignorant deflate gate nonsense) although it was ultimately determined that "It's also impossible to identify what, if any, advantage was gained as a result of the alleged deflated footballs" Tom Brady never got the money for his 4 game suspension but he got his revenge by Winning the SB and Winning the SB MVP. No one will ever do this in any team sport EVER. (Come back from a suspension to win the championship and the MVP) There NEVER WAS, nor will there EVER BE ANOTHER TOM BRADY He alone sits atop the Pantheon of Greatest QB in Football History and no amount of Football media "spin", referee cheating or filthy Roger Goodell machinations or "directives" will EVER change that. Not only should Tom Brady have his own floor in Canton, they should build another extension to the building to house all of Tom Brady's achievements, since he actually had 3 Separate HOF careers in his 22 year career, The Tom Brady extension of the building should be 3 floors.
@@Righteous628 you don’t see any similarities? Seriously dude? 😂 look I’m a huge Tom Brady fan. But this just reads like you’re a delusional fan. You do realize that you sound like Tom Brady’s haters when you talk about Mahomes right? Brady haters have all kinds of excuses for why Brady isn’t actually that good. Tom Brady was being talked about as one of the best, his second year in the league. He was being talked about in the GOAT discussion after he won his third Super Bowl. Who is “people?” Brady is generally understood and agreed upon as the GOAT by almost everyone, and has been since he won his fifth SB. The reason there was some doubt is because people overrated Belichick. So they took away from Brady by saying he had the best coach. Plus, he was never flashy, and doesn’t do much of the flashy stuff Mahomes and Rodgers do. Mahomes is a good dude. He’s humble. His teammates love him. He’s all about football. He isn’t totally full of himself, given how great he is. I don’t think he is anyway near Brady. But, I think we could have gotten far worse options than Mahomes to be talked about as the heir apparent. Heir apparent doesn’t mean he takes Brady’s place as the GOAT. It means he takes Brady’s place as the best player in the league and the face of the league, and as the next potentially great QB. You don’t have to get offended by other people being mentioned as great players, and as potential successors to certain roles played in the league. I mean, if I’m being honest, when you talk about Mahomes, you sound like a Jets fan or a Colts fan or a Bills fan, talking about Brady.
@@MikeySkywalker I appreciate your take on Mahommes but I disagree with your assessment of Tom Brady. Roger Goodell gave Tom Brady a 4 game suspension and Bill Belichick undermined Tom Brady every chance he got,I am convinced Bill Belichick purposely mismanaged games to spite Tom Brady because he was jealous of Tom.NE loss to Philadelphia in the SuperBowl and another game where the Jets beat NE to bump them from another SUPERBOWL run was definitely because of Belichick.Tom Brady will NEVER be surpassed or even equalled. But despite your take on Mahommes my issue with him is the NFL interference for their victories. Patrick Mahommes was playing with 1 leg in that SuperBowl against Philly and Philly that year had led thw league by a WIDE margin in NFL SACKS. The only way Mahommes doesn't get annihilated is you neutralize the Philly pass rush AND that is exactly what they did by their "Failure" to properly manage and protect the field. They allowed the field to be soggy to neutralize the pass rush. I guess I would have a better appreciation of Mahommes if the NFL wasn't constantly putting their finger on the scale in favor of KC.
Jerry saying he like to see Brady play in his era would be no different. Brady would get blasted and get right back up. He play great in any era. Jerry crazy for that
And won 3 rings, along with 2 more appearances in the Super Bowl. People just judge based off of his final years in the league. The NFL is becoming way to soft, I'm glad he's retiring before it becomes a full blown joke.
Michigan, New England and Tampa were the trail to the peak of the mountain that no one will ever surpass in Football History. This light that is cast on all of football, will forever keep the challengers in the shadows of the greatness that is Brady through his love and devotion to the game. Brady is that mountain! Thanks Tom, for all the greatness you have allowed us to witness and be a part of.
Not a football response, that's just cliche’ at this point, to point out the obvious flaws. So I'll just remind people ... Tom Brady made SO MUCH MONEY playing football, that he applied for, and RECEIVED, funds from the Federal program for Small Business relief for the Covid Pandemic period. Let that sink in people.
He got better each year His arm got stronger and accurate, He passed his receivers open He passed so his receivers didn't get hurt Greatest gun slinger of all time in any sport No one you wanted to have in crunch time more
The G.O.A.T., in my not so humble opinion, is the same as Brady's when he's been asked this question: the greatest Qb I've ever seen lace a ball into tight coverage, and do so while makin the defense look utterly inept, is Joe Montana...so for Montana to say what he did here about Brady, and as a true fan of the game of football, not just his chosen squad *cough GO NINERS cough*, it was incredible, for me anyway, to hear....
I love the honesty dude I was never really a niners fan but I was a Joe Montana fan because the Patriots sucked ,and Montana was the greatest. I also was a Kenny stabler fan , Roger staubach fan I mean I always loved quarterbacks who got the job done like Terry Bradshaw in big games. The Patriots never seem to have that guy and then finally Drew bledsoe came along as the number one pick finally our savior is here LOL 😆😂. Drew, he was supposed to be the guy oops well he won the super bowl with the Patriots and he was lucky to win that one even though he did win the AFC championship game for us when Brady got hurt but in the super bowl they started Brady and the rest is history
I really think the 06 year showed how great Brady was when he was a game away from the SB with a retiring Troy Brown, Reche Caldwell and Doug Gabriel as his WRs. Brown was maybe a #3 at that point, Caldwell abd Gabriel were borderline practice squad. He made them viable. A bigger accomplishment than throwing 25tds to Moss the next year
Which player was greater than Brady? Asking this out of honest interest. Greatest athlete? Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders maybe a close second. But who is the greatest Player? There’s only one guy that comes barely close in my mind and that would be LT. But he missed the overall impact on his team, the longevity and the overall traits to be the greatest Player of all time. Interested in your take on this though.
He got 🎯 hit, hell he was the biggest Target on the field, what was his last game possibly to ever be played he got a fat lip and was bleeding that boy got hit a lot and his career and he didn't miss many games. what an amazing physical specimen, this is truly what makes Brady so special, it's perfect height, weight, throwing ability everything he did was calculated and practiced more than any other player ever did. There are many reasons why he is the goat but this is just one of them , his amazing physical attributes , so what he couldn't run that boy could throw 😆😂😂😆
The moment at 5:57 where Deion says BB is arguably the greatest coach ever in any sports franchise and LT has to sit there and swallow that is amazing. He will always be remembered for saying BB has no class following the "Lights Out" game in the 2006 NFL playoffs. One of my favorite Patriots victories ever.
Brady is the GOAT. When every other player admits it, then that’s settles it. No “fans” opinions are more accurate or true than the players themselves. 😊
Rice subtle about trying to undermine Brady "in his era" Yeah Rice forgot that his 49ers team was put together in a non salary Cap era where for 10 years in a row the Niners had the highest payroll in the league.. So high the money they spent on offense alone was higher than the entire salaries of 6 different teams over that period People have selective memories ~ I'm the guy who cures them of amnesia
He is the most talented quarterback, because most quarterbacks are not playing like chess players.plus his communications and humbleness to players, makes a great leader!!!!
And Brady started 48 post season games .. that’s 3 more seasons worth of games.. and won 35 of them (.729 wp). Both NFL records. QB with 2nd most playoff starts is Peyton Manning with only 27 (14-13 .519 wp) Joe Montana, a legend in his own right and the Goat prior to Brady, is QB with 2nd most playoff wins with only 16 (16-7 .696 wp). Brady did this against playoff teams .. the best teams in the league. No doubt, Brady is the GOAT of Goats.
It's the end of a era it's going to change the whole NFL next year without tom Brady in a uniform there is a hole in the entire game because of Brady there will be a decline in total revenue tv/cable will feel the loss and it will be so much different without tom Brady in the NFL! It wouldn't surprise me if in the next few years before the trade. Deadline that huge offers for Brady To come out of retirement just to be on a team for the playoffs that maybe just maybe he does this one time and brings that team a Superbowl that's what hope means that's the NFL without tb12 just hanging on to some minute hope that some team will talk Tom back for one more thrilling ride that's sad that this is all we have left!
He's got more in the tank.. I wish people in his life would just let him play and not look for reasons he should retire. I understand wanting to go out on top but man that glass has so much more room.
He can still take descent teams into playoffs 5 more years. I believe he could win another bowl in that time. Yes it pisses me off cause I know deep down that he still wants to play and he still can. I think if the 49ers put in some effort he would and could play for them. I think his wife wants to go there anyways.
Loved Tom when he played fir Michigan, then the Pat's drafted him 199, he turned out to be most professional player to ever play, he makes everyone around him better...watched him play his whole career, come from behind games, 2 minute warning was like a month for Tom, most wins, most yards, most playoff wins, most superbowl wins, say what you like there will never be anyone like him again....😏
Tom walks out from the tunnel onto any field and remembers all the coaches, scouts, and GM’s who bypassed him in the draft. It’s his lighting rod he feeds on. You will pay dearly for passing over him in the draft. He often states let’s make them pay.
I believe what has made Tom successful is his preparation.. watching tape, practicing different plays with the team as well as on his own. Holding himself accountable. Sure Bill helped alone the way but the work ethic, the need for showing the world that he isn't one to under estimate. So Bill showed him how and what to watch for, but Tom took that and brought it further than Bill could have ever thought. Tom is why he is the GOAT..
The aaron rodgers clip is my favorite… the fact he says “to see him do it one last time” Which is what we all thought…. He goes on to win 2 more and play in 3 more superbowls win an mvp and almost win it at 44.
By all means, if there were an expansion team starting in the next two years with an empty roster that would sign Tom Brady, I’d assume all great players without a ring would sell their mum to be on that team and chasing their ring and getting their ticket to Canton. It’s the praise from the competitors and peers (other QBs from his era) that settles the GOAT debate for me. When you hear what guys like Lewis, A. Donald, Ed Reed, Strahan, Von Miller praising him (that never played with him) und guys like James Harrison, Darrelle Revis, Richard Sherman, Aqib Talib that both played with and against him it tells me everything I need to know.
For those of you who think Montana was better than Brady, Montana HIMSELF said that Brady is the GOAT. I think ill take Montanas opinion over yours lol!
I think the NFL Hall of Fame field in Canton Ohio is gonna have to make more room for more chairs when Brady comes into his induction ceremony in a few more years. LOL
He has so many comebacks and some amazing comebacks at that, and all three super bowls that he lost he gave his team a lead late in the fourth quarter , the defense just couldn't stop the offense of the other team he could easily have 10 super bowl rings he is that clutch folks he is that amazing he is the goat

He had taken over for Bledsoe that year when he was hurt
I looked over and thought I recognized this guy.
Amazing.
That's a great memory that deserves to be documented in a filmed interview.
Pretty cool tbh
Wonderful story! Your grandchildren will be listening to that one!
Never will forget the 28-3 comeback greatest game ever
Happened on my birthday. The absolute greatest game ever played
that’s when i learned the NFL was rigged
I remember watching it live with my dad and we were bashing the Patriots and Brady the first 3 quarters. We were all in silent awe by the end of it.
Tom Brady is a one of one in the NFL! No one will ever surpass him and no one can be him.
Brady is The GOAT PERIOD - He owns every QB Record

In awe and perpetually thankful to Tom Brady for what he gave to the best sport in history!! True fans of football are true fans of football. When he left the Patriots is when we really got to witness the real TB12. Words can't describe. Sorry to see him go but glad to have witnessed the GOAT. Thank you Tom Brady
They way TB studies the game , he would make a great offensive coordinator or coach . No doubt!
People
have been singing Mahomes praises since he won his first SB. Outside of Boston people didn't start singing Tom Brady's praises until the Atlanta SB.(which coincidentally was the same year Roger Goodell suspended him for 4 games on some ignorant deflate gate nonsense) although it was ultimately determined that "It's also impossible to identify what, if any, advantage was gained as a result of the alleged deflated footballs"
Tom Brady never got the money for his 4 game suspension but he got his revenge by Winning the SB and Winning the SB MVP. No one will ever do this in any team sport EVER.
(Come back from a suspension to win the championship and the MVP)
There NEVER WAS, nor will there EVER BE ANOTHER TOM BRADY
He alone sits atop the Pantheon of Greatest QB in Football History
and no amount of Football media "spin", referee cheating or filthy Roger Goodell machinations or "directives" will EVER change that.
Jerry crazy for that
It always agitates me when ppl forget that you could hit the qb when Brady first placed.
Well, how can someone forget, since he got the job because of that Mo Lewis hit, that almost killed Drew Bledsoe?
Yeah, I didn't like that little dig.
True, he played about 10 or 11 seasons when football was still football. It didn't start to become soft until like 2012 or so.
And won 3 rings, along with 2 more appearances in the Super Bowl. People just judge based off of his final years in the league. The NFL is becoming way to soft, I'm glad he's retiring before it becomes a full blown joke.
Yea he took a bigger hit than most qbs ever take vs buffalo and got right up.

"Its a different era."
A bigger accomplishment than throwing 25tds to Moss the next year
Great joy to watch Tom Brady play. It's also really awesome to hear all his peers, through the years give him so much respect.

BB doesn’t have class. I love BB. But he’s a classless jerk. That’s undeniable.
Brady is the GOAT. When every other player admits it, then that’s settles it. No “fans” opinions are more accurate or true than the players themselves. 😊
Remember last year this time a few days before SB 55 how 1 Ring dynasty QB Mahomes was the new GOAT 😂

Mahomes hasn’t played long enough to be the GOAT. He maybe in his future but to soon now.
Rice subtle about trying to undermine Brady "in his era" Yeah Rice forgot that his 49ers team was put together in a non salary Cap era where for 10 years in a row the Niners had the highest payroll in the league.. And Brady started 48 post season games .. that’s 3 more seasons worth of games.. and won 35 of them (.729 wp). Both NFL records.
QB with 2nd most playoff starts is Peyton Manning with only 27 (14-13 .519 wp)
Joe Montana, a legend in his own right and the Goat prior to Brady, is QB with 2nd most playoff wins with only 16 (16-7 .696 wp).
Brady did this against playoff teams .. the best teams in the league.

He created a culture

The best player ever.
Tom walks out from the tunnel onto any field and remembers all the coaches, scouts, and GM’s who bypassed him in the draft. It’s his lighting rod he feeds on. You will pay dearly for passing over him in the draft. He often states let’s make them pay.
“Tom’s the MVP every year” - Gronk
I believe what has made Tom successful is his preparation.. watching tape, practicing different plays with the team as well as on his own. Holding himself accountable. Sure Bill helped alone the way but the work ethic, the need for showing the world that he isn't one to under estimate. So Bill showed him how and what to watch for, but Tom took that and brought it further than Bill could have ever thought. Tom is why he is the GOAT..
“There’s no combine evaluation to measure your heart and mind for football” sits different 🗣
The aaron rodgers clip is my favorite… the fact he says “to see him do it one last time” Which is what we all thought…. He goes on to win 2 more and play in 3 more superbowls win an mvp and almost win it at 44.
As a New Englander I always expected Tom Brady to bring the Pats to the Superbowl. Now I hope for a .500 season.
Joe, Montana and Jerry Rice always feel very uncomfortable speaking about Tom Brady
Patriots Brady Crazy Stat - 9 for 9 for 9 TD's to a linebacker (Mike Vrabel) - Current Titans coach
