Using Forscan to make changes to a UK Mk 4 Ford Focus ST

- Just to show some of the things that can be added to your Ford using the Forscan software. I'm no expert and also please excuse my commentary I'm no expert there either. I also do not accept any liability for anything you break or mess up using this video.

Everything perfect for me, except from climate icons. I didn't find this option, but it seems everything works find

Just a quick comment on my mk4 only had climate domain showing in apim config so enabled just theb1 setting and all was good
changing climate control type "manual" you change it to "automatic" and thus activate the voice command for the air conditioner (I have used the google translator, I don't know if it is well written)

Hi great vid, has it got anything on there regarding the BMS and charging the battery, during winter months my heated screens are not allowed by the system but I can have heated seats on (comfort over Safety) Ford tell me its due to emissions and the BMS will stop the battery from charging above 80% well anything below 75% and things get shut down, Ford told me to plug into a mains charger overnight, seems daft to me, my old Mk3 Focus and Echosport didnt have this problem.
Hi Paul, Yes there are many things that you can use Forscan to do, It's also true the Mk4 seems to have battery issues, I have a trickle charger for mine as things began to not work due to low battery issues starting with start/stop and passenger door keyless entry, especially over winter I don't use mine daily. You can also reset the BMS system without Forscan using the following procedure - Ignition on, don’t press clutch/start engine, then flash the headlights 5 times then press the brake pedal 3 times, after approximately 15 secs the battery light should flash, once it does ignition off- BMS reset. I tend to do this once I've charged my battery.

Ours on the screen is backwards /opposite. Did you do anything to make climate match properly.
Do you know how to enable eco mode and other mode to the car?
Climate icons don’t show on forscan,
Any ideas why?
Can you also activate self steering over lane assist?
I've not looked for this myself, however your car must have the installed hardware in order for any changes to work
This is exactly what I want to know too, my focus has lane assist so hopefully you can activate it, I'll keep you updated

No the climate functions in my car are the same way round as the manual controls
Great video.. exactly what I was looking for.. I have previously enabled the auto door locking function on my 2020 Puma so have a little experience with Forscan. However, the Puma doesn't have dual climate, are you able to remove the dual button from the screen, nothing worse than redundant buttons 😂
Hi, thanks for the comment much appreciated. I've not used Forscan on a vehicle without dual climate so I'm not 100% sure. However using this version is pretty straight forward and It has far more options to change than I've touch on with this video so there may well be an option for this.

A S lee have you managed to activate it on your puma the "climate Icons mode isnt available to adjust on the puma the climatre domain is though?
@@simoncooke8563 Hi.. I haven't tried yet but it is possible, I have seen others online that have activated the climate through the sync screen on the new Puma

Thanks for this, i have just got delivered today the exact same obd2 as your 1, did you only have to download the driver and not the config stuff, i need this for my focus, older model 07 plate,, can you tell me if this will delete the codes as i have found conflicting info about the uk focus wont read or delete codes, thank you in advance.. Chris
Yes needed to install the driver to allow the obd module to work, and obviously install Forscan. I've never tried deleting any code so can't help there I'm afraid.

Is it possible to do coding in this software if i want to switch from halogen headlights to LED headlights?
Forscan is very flexible, using it you can turn on or off many functions that maybe are not on from the factory including things like launch control, auto locking etc. I haven't tried programming headlights so can't say for sure what options it has for it.

this change is valid only for automatic climate or is it also good for the manual one?
I haven't tried it on the manual climate myself so can't help i'm afraid.
