    Thank you for this video. You are right, this feeds into so many moves in Pilates. I have been able to do the snake (and twist) because of the pull up paces on the chair my instructor put me through.

    Thank you for making this video-I’ve been teaching for close to 15 years, but about 3 years ago feel ill with chronic illness. Because of the nature of the illnesses, and the attack on my central nervous system, I can no longer do my practice, or teach well on land. I have adapted my Pilates practice to a therapeutic pool & now have a class. I have the privilege of teaching to other chronically ill women-it’s been very humbling. I am certified in levels up to advanced on all equipment and mat-and had an advanced practice-and my life changed dramatically from illness. I am teaching them how to do ‘pull ups’ the concept is the same, but we use a suspended noodle in the pool, and they work on the shape of their bodies, keeping the arms connected to the back, and trying just to get their feet to float off the pool floor a centimeter to an inch. They were so curious about the real chair, and video, after video, I was not happy with the setup, alignment or execution. Yours was true Pilates, so thank you! I wish you the best in our continued practice and teachings.
