This shows how a person can be depressed and fake it so well. Usually the most smiley individuals are deep inside dying in depression.
Comes to mind Robin Williams, and even Jim Carrey who has opened up about depression.

It’s so devastating and shockingly sad that Cheslie Kryst had to die that way. Outside, she is a successful lawyer, a former Miss USA, a great host of Miss Universe, a fitness buff and a cheerful correspondent from Extra TV. On the inside, she’s battling and fighting mentally. We cannot judge anyone whether they seemed happy especially on social media. Behind all of the glitz and the glamour, Cheslie is struggling on the inside. Mental health is very important and being kind to one another is a must for everyone. I’m praying for Cheslie’s family. Her death came as a shock to the world.

She wasn’t “faking” being happy, she was performing because this is what happens when you’re put in the spotlight from an early age. I understand because I too, was thrust in the limelight from a very young age taught to “perform” for others (as a singer and minister’s daughter) regardless of how I was feeling. Negative feelings in my family were minimized and thought of as “bad”. I had loving parents who worked hard and taught me high standards. On the outside, I was a perfect role model never wanting to disappoint my family and friends. I appeared articulate and happy, however on the inside I felt trapped because my talent had become my identity and without it, I wasn’t me. I didn’t know how to be authentic. Through the years I’ve learned to cope with perfectionism. I’ve overcome by living an honest and authentic lifestyle and embracing the pain of loss.

I understand what you are saying but the problem was that she "mentally" could not cope with the stressors(e.g. aging, careers) in her life. There could be many reasons for the mental "break down" ranging from severe lack of nutrients like Vitamin D(seasonal depression) and/or isolation(family in North Carolina). She looked extremely thin to me which maybe due to the fear of getting "fat" along with the "aging" fear. Regardless, it is so sad. May she rest in peace.

Depression-suicide is always the blame to many deaths of individuals who have assets and investments with no dependents. Especially with the state of the US financial economy and the US dollar reserve status at risk. The black American judge in New York suicide is also very questionable, she was a high net worth investment individual.

One thing that sucks about dying this way is people always remember you more for how you died rather than your real legacy. It changes how people view everything you ever did and your overall image as a person changes forever. In most cases.. if you are feeling the urge to do this to yourself and you just wait another 10 minutes, you will usually change your mind. Just something to remember.

I have watched many videos and read about Cheslie since her death, and she was an OVERACHIEVER. Suicide is common among overachievers. She had FOUR college degrees, and most people do not have one college degree. Overachievers often set unrealistic goals that can lead to suicide, if the goals are not met. Cheslie had a problem with being 30 and not having a certain amount of recognition. She also spoke about the emptiness of a competitive lifestyle. Her unrealistic goal for 30 and not liking her lifestyle may have pushed her over the edge.

Whatever she was struggling to cope with, whether some internal battle or external experience, it was probably a very serious matter. She does not seem like the kind of person to make such a choice on some Morning whim. She was likely contemplating for some time, and masking to prevent any kind of intervention. I reject this notion that her death was about fading beauty and turning 30 as some are suggesting. She would not have chosen that option if beauty was her concern. No, something was haunting her. She was determined to make it stop and go. I fear she took her deep, dark pain and secrets with her. No reaching out, no looking back. It’s simply a total, tragedy and devastating loss for her family, siblings & the social Justice communities she supported. I believe many of her siblings are young as well. First of all condolences to all who lost her as a friend or family member.
Let this be a lesson to all that we should never assume someone is inwardly stable and worthy of influence just because of what they have accomplished. Women (I’m 26) and especially young women need to realize that performing in society is not all they are destined to do. She killed herself because she lived only for the throne of her accomplishments. She said it herself, she is infuriated out of being deemed “irrelevant.” BY WHO? For WHAT? Her accomplishments were her currency and the only thing that gave her confidence to “empower” other women. If your mountain is the only thing that you rely on to make a difference, the valley eventually comes. Her death teaches me a lesson. And that is to never live for my own accomplishments and performance to measure my value and worth in society.

This young woman's life is one of the more poignant examples of this failure to do for Christ but instead do things for self- aggrandizement & self-soothing, which misguided endeavor only yields emptiness, disappointment, more disillusion, deterioration, & despair.

On the subject of depression, I think the pandemic had contributed to its increase in cases and made worst to those who already has it. I wouldn't stay for weeks and months in four walls high above not even seeing a bird, flower or feel the air. My point is have time to oneself, give credit it oneself, reach out to friends, relatives, have a time off be it a stroll in the park or beach or a much needed vacay. Buying a little something for oneself is rewarding..Depression is real..stress is real in this very negative world. And whatever you do..do it for God..only my thoughts..

The sad thing about depression most people don't know that they are depressed....they think it's a feeling of less fulfillment or emptiness but not depression.and if you live alone it is more dangerous because no one sees your mood changes or the sadness in the eyes or the abnormal behaviors😔 God bless her soul hopefully she finds peace 🙏

She accomplished more in 30 years than many will in a lifetime. She then threw herself from a high rise building. She was 30…and her life was over. Thirty made her too old.
The pressure for women to maintain the bodies of 18 year olds, and the pressure to freeze themselves in time, never allowed to age or mature or grow old. This is what society has done. This woman got an MBA and a LAW DEGREE simultaneously. She was also incredibly beautiful and she would have been just as beautiful with laugh lines and grey threads weaving through her curls.
Explain to me why we’ve made it so hard for women to age? All her accomplishments meant nothing if she couldn’t maintain a size 2 figure and a line free face?
This makes me sad for her family who will never understand why and it makes me sad for these little pukes growing up today because they don’t even have the social skills to maintain relationships unless they get X amount of likes. No substance, no real purpose or goals. They’re just going to be Instagram famous.
Bust out your best filters now because aging gracefully isn’t a thing society allows. Freeze yourself in time because you’re not allowed to age past the age of consent. Your life is over at 30.
I hope she found peace, she just shouldn’t have had to end her life to find it. Now the world will never know all the ways she was going to change it; just by being in it.
Look at how beautiful she is. Beauty and brains and she still took her own life. It’s only tragic if you’re beautiful, but she had so much more than that going for her. Rest in power.

According to insider, Cheslie was intensely & constantly fighting with her parents, because they wanted her to practice her Lawyer MBA profession rather than being a entertainment correspondent in EXTRA.
    There were hurtful words given.
    She was also closeted LGBTQ+.
New York Worsening Winter & Gloomy Weather, Lack of Sunlight, Depression sank in!
She left her properties (with a note, not a will) to her mother- allegedly to hurt her mother & to make her feel guilty.
In her essay in Allure Magazine May 2021 Kryst’s said “A grinning, crinkly-eyed glance at my achievements thus far makes me giddy about laying the groundwork for more, but turning 30 feels like a cold reminder that I’m running out of time to matter in society’s eyes - and it’s infuriating. --Why earn more achievements just to collect another win? Why pursue another plaque or medal or line item on my resume if it’s for vanity’s sake, rather than out of passion? Why work so hard to capture the dreams I’ve been taught by society to want when I continue to only find emptiness?”
    Rest in Peace Cheslie 💔💔💔
