I didn’t know much about her, but her death gave me sadness. I saw a video that may have shed the best light on why she might have committed suicide - she was disassociated/disconnected from her higher self from an early age, and as she got older, thought that pleasing her parents and getting success through education, pageantry, and later through entertainment exposure and talking to celebs would help her feel connected and seen again - but it only magnified her problem, making her feel empty, not seen, and numb, until finally she physically “disconnected” herself from reality. She sought success and overachievement in attempt to feel connected, but only felt depressed and more anxious.
Even with such a theory, it’s still hard to believe when looking at RUclips footage of her that she actually took her own life the way she did.
In any case, I hope she can experience peace and mercy on the other side.
Looked at that same RUclips video yesterday. All so sad & confusing. The more she achieved to be seen/ relevant/ connected is the more disconnected and anxious she became as she felt youth/ relevance were one in the same and time was against her. She was terrified of aging ... guess she thought she would disappear or stop being useful. Mental illness can be a real stealer of souls:-(

You hit it right on the nail! You can clearly see she’s acting that’s not who she really was or wanted to be she was coached into being this character it must have been so difficult 😞
Someone remarked that she "had her whole life ahead of her," that might have been one of the factors that frightened her the most, the possibility of living the rest of her life with such an intense degree of mental anguish, was perhaps too much to bear. Having struggled with mental illness myself, oftentimes we mean well when we say certain things or phrases in an effort to help, but to the person who is struggling they see/hear what we say in goodwill, through the eyes/ears of that condition.....it can twist and contort everything. Her death was like a gut punch for me and my heart breaks for her and her family! Behind Cheslie's immense beauty, talent and intelligence, was an intense desperation for a PEACE that this world CANNOT give. I say this because of the manner in which she departed this life. Everything that can be shaken in our world is being shaken. It costs nothing to be kind to one another. Jesus help us to remember what REALLY matters and teach us how to make each other a priority!

God if only she knew how much she was loved and admired. You can tell underneath all the glamour, just a kind, sweet soul without affect. She just needed a stronger shield to get her through the hard times. Someone to watch and protector where it mattered most to her. A voice to advocate for HER. Her loss is a deep tragedy. I think she knew she was loved. Loving herself and trying to live up to everyone else's expectation was the problem in my opinion. As beautiful and as talented as she was,she probably had a hard time seeing that. I bet she avoided the mirror...

I still can't get over this. I think I have devoured each and every news coverage, video,tik toc, everything concerning her,and I am just left with my mouth wide open in disbelief.

True. Remember seeing her interview or video how she only had 4 hours to sleep to function and accomplished her daily life from MBA to law school to beauty pageants. Kept wondering how she's able to do it all and function? I can't even imagine. 💔

Correct, in one of her many videos, she stated she spent 8 days in the hospital when she overworked herself to get through law school. She was always fast-paced and possibly mentally exhausted but did not want to show it. Its tragic.

More often than not, when someone is continually that giddy in public, he/she is over-compensating for the opposite internal state.
Furthermore, modern society - and even more so in the entertainment industry, the wedge between the two states is driven to dangerous chasms where the self is possibly torn apart.
Yes, I was surprised to find out that many famous comedians(e.g. Robin Williams, Jim Carey) suffer from depression. People who are "suffering" from mental illness sometimes use laughter or smiles to camouflage their emotional pain.
This is so sad. She was so beautiful and bubbly and her whole life was ahead of her. I wonder what happened or what she was struggling with that made her want to end her life. From the outside looking in her life looked pretty perfect. RIP Cheslie. 💔
It’s scary to see how someone like her, with such a bubbly and positive personality, could end like this. Her death has definitely helped me see mental illness in a different light along with all the consequences that come with this condition.

I Haven't had my mom for so many years after passing away I don't have her achievements I don't have her looks, her beautiful personality and yet I don't wanna die yet!! I wish somebody would knew her deepest thoughts and why she was feeling that certain way. Rest in peace beautiful doll.
We can never truly understand why someone may decide to take their own life because there are a multitudes of factors to consider. However, we know people who give up life are often in deep turmoil and suffering. The wounds people often carry are not always visible for everyone to see. So many people carry trauma and pain and still go on in life they best they can. That's what is resiliency and strength. Although at times those wounds become too much of a burden to carry alone. It's why we need each other and our understanding, compassion, and love. Everyone is carrying something and we never know what that might be. Compassionate inquiry is important and so is letting go of judgement. ❤

No such thing, another psychiatic claim to trap people into thinking something is wrong - even though they can't detect it on a test... just more theoretical mental illness claims, to put people on drugs with a risk of increased suicide. The Psychiatrists-to-the-stars probably told her she was ill wrongfully.

This is so sad! If Miss America has with all her talents took her life, this reflects a bigger issue in America with mental health. It could have been prevented. Just devastating for the nation to see this tragedy occur. I can't imagine how her family is handling this. Rest in Peace.
It's not a bigger issue with American, it's a bigger issue with NYC... 20% of their suicides are building jumpers, the pressure of million apartments and rude people who're probably jealous of a young, beautiful and successful person on the rise - she probably saw plenty of rudeness in response.

Humanity didn't fail, she moved to one of the toughest cities in the nation to survive in - NYC with million dollar pricetags on apartments and rude people who likely don't want to see young and talented people rise to the top... she should've moved home again, where people would've appreciated her.

What in the world, Joan of Arc walked her life all the way out to burned at the stake - she didn't give up by her own will... nothing like this case.
Didn't know much about her I saw her a few times in Extra and thought wow she's so gorgeous loved her hair 😍 but didn't know she was Miss America or anything like that. Now watching these videos of her and her in the daily life just looking so beautiful and happy never imagining how she's really feeling inside reminds me so much of Robin Williams and what happened to him. I was shocked I was such a big fan of his 😭. It's like how how how why! 😔

So weird, she said she was an introvert in school but she seemed to be outside of herself as an adult. Not being herself. She had to force herself to be an extrovert. I get her because people when they say something about me, they say I am a party animal but the real me is a total opposite.

At least too good for NYC, people try to survive there and fail every day... a very tough place to live after coming from a wonderful and friendly state like North Carolina. Million dollar apartments and rude people would wear on even the strongest of people.

It was a hand written suicide note left in her apartment. I'm sure her mother had to verify that the suicide note was written by her daughter. So tragic and sad.

As Miss USA, Cheslie Kyrst helped to inspire millions of young girls to see themselves as both beautiful and intelligent. She was definitely the embodiment of sophiscation, elegance, and grace.
May She Rest With GOD in eternal peace. I send ALL my prayers and condolences to her family and friends. The LEGACY she left will continue to live on for many more young girls to follow. She will be ALWAYS loved and GREATLY missed. 🙏🏿❤🕊

She mentioned talking to a counsellor, but I think she needed regular appointments with pychiatrist after her first suicide attempt.

You can't move from one of the nicest states in the country like North Carolina, to one of the toughest cities in the nation to live in - and expect good to come from it... she was doing well compared to most, but it had to be weighing on her over time. She had a rising star all the years prior and in every category, and NYC wiped her out - just as it does many people's lives... she should've moved home (for a period) to where people would appreciate her again.

I can't believe that she jumped on her own from her room, some malicious person may have pushed her which is also a possibility. May her soul be received with Mercy by God in Christ Jesus. RIP sister
She wasn't in her room, her apt was on the 9th floor and she walked up to the 29th floor terrace which is already verified by cameras. I understand the need to question things but unfortunately there is no conspiracy theory. Also she left notes for family.

Man something is fishy fell 9 floors to her death. I want to see video footage of her last moments entering her condo. There's no way in this World this girl was that miserable. Body Language tells everything. Her body language screams the opposite of miserable.

She was a kind soul....this was a brutal and horrifying way to end it all!!! Where are the surveillance cameras showing her going to the 29th floor?(something as insignificant as jay z and solange fighting was showed world wide...why can't we see Chelsea going on and off the freaking ELEVATOR! IF SHE WAS BLONDE HAIR AND BLUE EYES I BETCHA WE WOULD SEE IT!!! ) How come the media isn't showing that? How we don't know someone didn't go up there with her?
