  • Martin Guitars have a long history with the Cash family: Johnny Cash had dozens of Martins-including the iconic black D-35-and some that had belonged to "Mother" Maybelle Carter of the famous Carter Family act. Grammy Award-winning musician and songwriter Rosanne Cash celebrates the legacy of Martin Guitars, as well as her own family's history with the company, through a program of music written and performed on these legendary instruments.
Featuring performances by John Leventhal, Larry Campbell, and Julian Lage.
This program was presented in conjunction with the exhibition "Early American Guitars: The Instruments of C. F. Martin," on view January 14-December 7, 2014.

What makes this music just great? A well talented but also diligent practiced guitar player John Leventhal with heart and humor and heart-warming Rosanne, reflecting the roots of her family, her homeland, as well as the "rural" musical scale and spirit from a land shaped by immigrants with all their fate's, all this together compacted to wonderful Songs straight going heart to heart!
That's History! That's great music, bringing Peace and warmth in our restless mankind.
Thank You, Rosanne, thank You, John and stay together until You want to ask each other "what's the temperature?"

Crossed paths with Johnnie when we were in our early 20s. He was great then.. now spectacular off the charts. One of the most unrecognized guitar talents of the past many decades.

Amazing tunes and sounds. It doesn't get any better than this. Roseanne Cash is the best of the best. I have always loved her music. Her father Johnny Cash has always been my hero. I have always loved the music of Johnny and Roseann Cash. I have always loved Martin Guitars also. As a young man of 16 year's old I worked and saved and bought my first Martin D-35. Sadly in the mid 80's I had to sell it due to health problems. I never got over it. I saved and done without a lot of things. And I bought another D-35 in 2001. I still have it. I cherish it more than anything I own. My family accuses me of loving my Martin more than them. That's not true. But my Martin does come first after my family. lol. Sounds dum I know. But I'm sure there's a lot of people that would agree with me. Thank you for sharing this video. I have enjoyed it very much. May God Bless the Cash Family and Martin Guitar Company.

The people of the world need to turn off the internet, the TV and radio, and all the other noise and instead take in something that's authentic and nourishes the soul. Like this.

I have the utmost respect for each and everyone of these uber- talented musicians but I cant help thinking how great this would have been if Wayne Henderson could have been there. Wayne is a fascinating man with so much talent whether he is handcrafting an instrument or playing it.
