THE EDITING, THE SKILL, THIS WHOLE VIDEO- UNPARALLELED!!! Happy merry Christmas Jay!!! Hope you’re doing well friend ✨🔥 Spinning Silver is high on my tbr ever since i read Uprooted 🙏🏻
ELLIAS! Thanks I appreciate it! 😄 I've been doing well, hope you are too! I think I forgot to get back to you about animal crossing awhile back, sorry about that! We gotta catch up soon! You definitely need to read Spinning Silver! ❄
Aaaaah I love Spinning Silver, so glad you've mentioned it! Also your video reminded me to a lot of books on my TBR :D I was thinking about reading Hogfather this Christmas but I've read the first five DW-novels so far and I want to read them inn chronological order (I know you don't have to but that who I am as a person) :D
Yay!!! Love that The Goblin Emperor is included on this list. So excited for the next book in this world coming out this year! I had a great time discussing this book on Green Team's podcast. 💚
When there is little Christmas spirit outside , your video is a shining light. It captured the whole Christmas atmosphere in about 20 minutes that I’ve been trying to capture in a week. So thank you for switching on the Christmas spirit and I hope that you have a lovely Christmas!
I read all three of the original trilogy and the novella over the summer. The third book in the second trilogy is supposed to come out in the spring of 2021.
I recently picked up the whole series at a used bookstore. When I heard that GRRM said it influenced his work and was a personal favorite I had to take interest. It’s on my list this year.
Loved the intro, loved the rhymes, loved the editing! How can you remember so much about stories you read? Your suggestions are great because you make every book sound like the next one I want to read! A happy Christmas to you.
I feel like I should give The Dragonbone Chair a chance. Most people I know that have read it don't like it because it's too slow for their liking, but you comparing it to the first Farseer book definitely puts it on my radar again. :D I'd say the Winternight trilogy by Katherine Arden is another great pick for winter!
I love your video productions, so entertaining. I tried the Dragonbone Chair audiobook earlier this year, but i couldn't get past that slow burn beginning.I listened to about 3 hours of it, then looked to see how much was left, and quit it when i saw it was over 30 hours. lol. I will try discworld sometime though.
I'm rereading the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series. I've had to stop, to read my annual Christmas reading of the Hogfather. I love your channel Daniel. Keep up the great work. Happy Hogswatch from Scotland x
These videos give me snow vibes. Thank you because there's no snow here in the Philippines. ❄️😅 The Snow queen reminds me of Narnia. I still have yet to read a book by Naomi Novik. 📖😅 If you want a fun Christmas read, then I suggest you read Skipping Christmas by John Grisham. 🎄
I recently discovered Terry Pratchett and yay, now I have another book of his that I want to read badly on my TBR list, nightstand and conscience because I'm reading Wheel of Time and Way of Kings at the same time. Love the video, and the recommendations are noted, though I feel almost as frustrated as greatful for having more that good ones. Thank you!!!
I love odd and the frost giants, I have Wonderful memories of listening to it on audio CDs in the car with my mom as a child. It is so so good, I strongly recommend.
I actually went through His Dark Materials for the first time only a few weeks ago, and, while I liked The Golden Compass okay, the sequels got far too heavy handed for me. I understand a lot of people say the same thing about Narnia, though, which I grew up with and love, so perhaps if I'd grown up with HDM there'd be more of a soft spot? Anyway, thanks for the recommendations, otherwise, and the merriest of Christmases to you!
I have a hard time believing you're on Santa's naughty list. Anyway, I remember liking Memory, Sorrow, Thorn well enough, but I enjoyed Williams' Shadow March series even more. Otherland was also really good.
I am re-reading Memory Sorrow and Thorn on your recommendation, and I had forgotten how engaging it is. I do think Williams could have used a more vicious editor, though, lol. By the way, anyone know how you punctuate around "lol"? Can't find it in my style guide.
My first thought was The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell. Technically it's historical fiction and not fantasy, but asks the question "What if King Arthur had been a real person?" A really great trilogy, and fantasy readers will feel right at home.
Nice vid, it makes me want to do art, maybe I should actually do it for once. I have some ideas. I like the merch too, your channel name is subtle enough that wearing it on the street would just make it look like you're were a tee or sweater with a print on it. The new logo is great too, I wish so much you will keep the Christmas edition. I just like those colours a lot. The brown on white is nice too though. I remember noticing on Discord and thinking: ah, that looks nice now it stands out :) This video topic might just have inspired me to make a vid with a similar topic too. I know a bunch of good fantasy that fits the winter vibes too (not all have a winter setting either) and isn't talked about very often, or at all in case of one of the indie books I was thinking of.
Thanks! Glad you like the logo! I had fun making the Christmas version! I wish I made more Christmas videos now so I could use it more haha. My family is doing good, my mom still has neck pain and is seeing a chiropractor. It will still take a lot o time and treatments for her to be back to normal again but at least she's not bedridden anymore.
From what I see on your bookshelf you haven't read more of First Law past the trilogy, which is only the tip of the iceberg. There are currently 9 books in the series and you've only read three of them... You need to change that, my man.

My god, your videos are so extremely well-edited. The first two minutes of your video would probably take me a month to edit.

So glad to see more Booktubers talking about the MEMORY, SORROW, & THORN trilogy. It's soooooo good and one of my favorite series of all times!
I can't believe I slept on it for so long, the first book was so good and I can't wait to read the rest!
I read all three of the original trilogy and the novella over the summer. The third book in the second trilogy is supposed to come out in the spring of 2021.

Didn't realize this was uploaded seconds ago as I look for comments complimenting the entire video.
