- With a custom made tool set, thanks @bcautomachine8304 , I will replace the intermediate shaft bushing in a Big Block #mopar #383 without disassembly of the engine. This is like careful laparoscopic surgery as I'll only be working through the distributor hole! #nonamenationals
I ended up having to do basically the same thing on my engine! Thanks for the great advice, I probably would have had chunks of metal flying everywhere if it wasn't for this.
Glad it helped you! That's exactly why I do this.🏁
Thats freaking amazing Tony thanks loads for helping my Son by fixing his Truck.
You're welcome! 👍
INGENIOUS ! Love those Big Block Mopars. Good job, Tony.
Thanks!
You’re dang good at what you do!
Thanks. This one took some creative thinking we'll outside the box! 🏁
Nice work Tony!!
Thank you Sir! 👍
Hi Tony, good video.
You could always put grease on the tap.
It will catch most of the chips.
Thanks for sharing.
Take care, Ed.
Thanks Ed! I've used that trick before too. If I ever have to do this again, I'll give it a shot. Thanks for watching! 🏁🏁
I love hearing it purr like a kitten!
And that it does...
Nice job Tony! I wonder if a blind bearing puller would pull the bushing out?
@@MostlyOldPartsAndRust That was my first thought. I have a 361 short block core that I used for R&D on this. The blind bearing puller pulled through the bronze making a mess and failing to remove the bushing.
@@TonysHotRodGarage I wondered if the soft brass would cause a problem. Thank you for the information.
Dang fine work sir! Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks! 👍
Sounds good!
Thanks! 🏁
So the bushing reamer installer tool isn't needed?
It is if you use the Mopar bushing. The aftermarket ones are sized to compensate for compression when installed.
Thank you sir great video!
