I'm not a drummer. But we helped our drummer to find his cymbals and got directly at the Paiste Factory in Switzerland.
I can remember the dedication of those peoples to their craftsmanship.
It's beautiful to see other peoples around the world, trying their best to offer the best quality to their customers.
In a day an age where everything seems to become cheap industrial goodl, it's a good thing to see.
    Long live to Koide.

When I buy a instrument, I don’t care what the makers say, or how they made it. I just pay for the sound. Sound is the only way to judge the quality of an instrument.

The sound of the hot cymbals hitting the water is so satisfying!

I love the Japanese way... Do it, and do it well. To the best of your ability. Living in the states and having this mantra, you will feel alone.

Came for the cymbal making, stayed for the sound the quenching of the hot metal. That sounds was epic!

I can now appreciate the high cost of a quality item such as the ones made here. Very worth the money.

Thanks to the channel. What a joy to see!
01:57 I am impressed that despite having such a hands-on process, they are not above using modern tech for precise temperature display.
02:04 So cool (ha-ha) to see they have pre-heated tongs to ensure the work is not cooled by them.
02:11 The sound of the hot metal sliding into the water is also cool!
04:09 I have seen a video of the making of steel drums in Trinidad, and it also involved such skilled hammering to curve the metal evenly to achieve a pure tone.
07:05 I am surprised to learn those ridges are deliberate. I had always imagined they were just a by-product of the process and not functional. I can now see it would be trivial to make the work nice and smooth and shiny, so there is a reason they are ridged.
