I dont know about anyone else, but this feels like one of the easiest etudes they've put out in a while. Style is going to be the most important thing with this one. Because most people will learn the notes and rhythm
True, but it will also need to be more musical. In my opinion, the players who have good, consistent tone and have practiced deliberately WILL stand out from the ones who only focus on rhythm
In my opinion an easier etude can actually be better for students, tone, breathing, etc will be much more important in an easier etude so the best of the best will be easy to find, though obviously once you find all those great students it becomes much harder to find who is the best of those when you are playing something easy
TheAverageGamer, you’re here, like me, because we trombonists have this same etude in the “Selected Studies” book for Trombone on page 14 in Ab Major. Sincerely, John

i was recommended this, i don’t play, i don’t go out of my way to watch videos of people playing, am i complaining no this dude really knows how to do that shit
Honestly, these videos really helped for Phase 1. Shouldn’t have been too hard to make it to Phase 2. Now to apply even more and try making a top placement.
As a private music instructor of all ages, it is definitely a benefit no matter the price. I have taught young students as well as older ones. Having someone to guide through your progress rather than you hoping to find a path that works is so much more rewarding for the player... price can be expensive, just be wise on who is instructing you and allow them to help you not push you, its a lot harder and takes a lot more work.
A google search tells you that he is a Yamaha artist, meaning he is contractually obligated to play Yamaha horns. He likely plays a Xeno model Yamaha trumpet as they are the newest "professional" model.
Try and simplify some of the measures in the 1st etude. Start with only playing the eighth notes, then add some of the sixteenth notes, then add everything in
Accidentally had my playback on 1.5 and was thinking "Wow! Kyle is taking some serious liberty with that Allegro."
honestly it sounds way cooler at 1.5 speed
And it turns his vib into classic British brass bander vib
@@thatguy5119 Euphonium players in my band when this was their etude 4 years ago only played it at 1.5x speed.
That made me want to listen in x1.75 speed. It was kinda cool
He has an American accent, but the temper of a man in the British Parliment.

@@lolom8772 starting easy and then upping the ante is huge here. If only things were that simple.

I found this video very helpful. I especially need it because it covers my all district try out music.
Honestly, these videos really helped for Phase 1. Shouldn’t have been too hard to make it to Phase 2. Now to apply even more and try making a top placement.

@@WagesofGear thank you i was un sure if i should spend money on lessons.
Even if you're not planning a professional music career, taking lessons is always worth the time and money.
If you can find a good teacher, then I would say yes
They’re definitely worth it
Muito bom professor. Bravo!!!!

Kyle, I’m curious about the maker/modifications, etc to your trumpet...

Sam Stover it definitely doesn’t look like an off-the-shelf horn. Thanks!

Can I find this exercise in the Gatti book? Where?
It's in this book: houghtonhorns.com/shop/selected-studies-for-cornet-or-trumpet/
It’s on page 86 in my edition.
Is it just me or this etude so fun to play at 1.5x speed?

Work on your D Major Scale thoroughly. Practice arpeggios, thirds, remingtons, etc.
